Disappointed in these shoes. Not enough support and cushioning for my feet. I have arthritis and bone spurs and found these shoes did not work for my issues, even with orthotics. Will probably go back to Easy Spirit.

What has happened to this shoe? I used to buy it all the time in white & was happy to see a color was finally added. So sad when you also changed the fit. I wear a 10 1/2 narrow & now it's so wide & the toe box is oversize. Why did you change the fit? Can't wear this shoe.

When I first tried these shoes on, they felt fine, but when I actually started walking outside in them, I found that I don't like them. The toe box is too tight for me. My toes keep jamming against the front of the shoe, even though I ordered my correct size. There is no arch support. I put my custom-made orthotics in, so that helped, but overall, I find that the shoes are not all that comfortable for the price. I have a pair of Asics that are less expensive but much more comfortable. I cannot recommend this shoe.

Do not like this shoe. It acts differently than the white/blue version. It is shiny on parts of it and the left shoe hurts. It squeaks and people look at me the few times I have tried to wear it. The pink looks more red to me.

I don't know what the problem was, but these shoes left me pronating so badly, even with my own orthotics, that after a few days I got knee problems and had to give the shoes away. Had already worn them on the street, so no return. Big disappointment.

I paid more for these shoes that any other pair I have bought and they are uncomfortable they don't have a good arch support or cushioning and they make the bottom of my feet burn after wearing only a short time.

I don't know what is going on with New Balance sneakers. I'm having a time. Over the years the SL-2, size 8 1/2 were always so comfortable and I loved them. I like the snug heel and boxy toes (rounded) gives my toes room to spread out. I go back to buy new ones cause my old ones are worn out and they don't make my favorite style anymore and I am trying to find a replacement. I get frustrated and even try other brands, but nothing feels as good as New Balance SL-2. I had bought the 1012 8 1/2 and loved it & was so comfortable, but over time - I guess my feet have gotten fatter/longer and so my left toe was being bothered hitting end of shoe. So I wanted to order a size 9. They don't have them and I think they don't make them anymore. So I ordered the 883 8 1/2 and they were a tad to LONG. So I kept them - putting them in the back of my closet. Evenutally the 1012's were really bothering me, so I got the 883 out and loved that extra ROOM. Toes not hitting end of the shoe. So they are about worn out and I went to order more. They don't make them anymore. So reading and reading, sounds like the 847 - is a replacement of sorts for the 883, so I ordered them in 8 1/2, expecting the length to be exactly like what I'm wearing with a GOOD 1/2" room in the end. But they weren't. They were shorter. Left toe was right next to the end of the shoe. Plus they were nothing like the 883. Very CHEAP looking, cheap fitting and uncomfortable. NO where the support of the 883 and nothing close to the 1012. Note: I put my own orthoics in my shoes for the support I need where I need it. So now I have ordered the 1540 in size 9. This is the last hope in SL-2 - and if they don't feel good and fit - I don't know what I'll do. Cause I have tried other brands and no one gives you the tight fitting heel, with the boxy round toe and that quality support I'm looking for, that the past shoes had. Most other brands and some New Balance seem to have to go into a point and I don't like that. But I'm like so many others doing these reviews - why when you think you found a great fitting shoe, they stop making them. Also way over priced for what seems like much cheaper shoes? I was really wanting the 1012 in a 9 , to give me the same great fitting & supportive shoe, but more length. I like the looks of the 1540 so we can only try them and see what my feet think of them. Will report back on the 1540's.

I always buy NB shoes and always love them -- except this time. The soles were incredibly slick. It doesn't feel like there's any support in the ankles, and the arches seem non-existent. I'm not a fan and will go back to an older model.

My return has nothing to do with Zappos! It is the fit, feel and quality of the New Balance WW847. I have worn these shoes for several years. This "new" model had a much larger toe box, the decorative painting on the shoe was chipping off, the material is not the same, is hot on the feet and smells bad. I'll look for a different shoe.

I only wear NB and I recently purchased a black pair of these 847s. I liked them so well that I ordered these silver/pink 847s but found the toe box to be overly big. I was sure I would have creases across the toes in no time. I called New Balance and was told by the service rep that mine was the second call she had received with a similar situation. She recommended the 928 model as a substitute. I will try that one but was really disappointed in the silver and pink 847.

I received these NB shoes yesterday so I'm returning. Here is why. I wear a 6 1/2 narrow shoe & I know to order athletic shoes in a 7 medium shoe. These are too short as the big toe nail hits the end of the shoe. Also, because the top & tongue of the shoe is of different material it digs into the skin. Maybe because it is a leather instead of the breathable mesh material. No matter how I tied them there always was heel slippage.

I had the same experience, I thought it was only me. I tried these on in a store to make sure my size was correct, very comfortable at first...then after wearing walking outside for two hours I was so uncomfortable, lost my money here. I'll keep searching.

My review mirrors another here. My main exercise is walking in the park. It's not unusual for me to take a 5 mile walk. I had a pair of New Balance shoes that were excellent. I have no idea what they were, how much they cost (though I suspect $50-$75) but I've had them probably for about 5 years and wore them in most weather, all seasons. No problems at all. Loved them, but they started to fall part. So...I wanted a pair of New Balance because I liked the previous ones I had. I wanted a pair with a more flexible and breathable upper, so...I decided to splurge a little and got these. They felt great in the store, seemed wide enough and true to size. I decided to test them out on a 2 miles walk round trip to the drug store. Within six houses of mine my feet were hurting, the arches. I forced myself to walk the rest of the way to the store hoping the pain would pass. It didn't. I got a pair of cheapie arch supports and they helped for about five minutes, but the pain of the left foot returned and the pain of the right foot became that of plantar fasciitis. I ended up taking off my shoes and walking home barefoot. And I can't return them because I walked in them. Can you imagine how angry you'd be to be walking home barefoot carrying a pair of shoes that cost this much? I'd never had this kind of problem with shoes before. Yes, I've worn shoes that gave me blisters and therefore could no longer wear, but shoes like these...never. I could try another New Balance shoe but...I have a pair of expensive shoes I splurged on and are pretty much worthless, I'm not willing to do that again. Never again will I buy another pair of New Balance shoes at this price. I'm not sure I'll any New Balance at all. I may try another brand, give them a chance. I bought good quality sandals not long after buying these shoes and they're all better for walking than these shoes. The only thing I can think to do is go to a podiatrist and see if he can help me make the shoes wearable. So the price of these shoes is going up if you consider the doctor visit and whatever else he recommends. I'm guessing custom orthotics which are not likely to be cheap. Thanks New Balance.

These shoes were very uncomfortable. I felt as if they had no cushioning whatsoever, and they slipped in my left heel.I wore them around the house for just 1/2 hour and my left foot started hurting and tingling. Returning for something else!

I have pretty much worn nothing but New Balance shoes for many years due to foot problems. I have sworn by the 847 because it used to be so comfortable from the first time you put it on. My last pair was pretty worn out, so I ordered another pair of this same style, but it seems that the fit and quality goes downhill with each pair I order. I wear a B width, but they seem to get narrower and shorter in the toe area. This last pair was extremely narrow for a B width, and very stiff. The insole has gotten thinner as well so that there is not enough cushioning in them as in the past. I am trying some other styles in New Balance and a bigger size in hopes they will fit better, but may have to go to another brand. Hate to have to give up the 847!

These are the uncomfortable shoes I have ever owned. They are the size that I normally wear but they do not feel good. I wore these to Holiday World with my grandchildren and was miserable - wish I had never purchased these shoes.
