I have pronounced over-pronation and these shoes help with this tremendously - my hips do not hurt any longer from the trochanteric bursitis that is caused by my over-pronation. Now I do not need to continue my every six week steroid injections! Thanks for creating these shoes!

I love that these shoes are made in the USA! They are roomy in the toes, but the heel is more narrow than most "wide shoes." True to SL-2 style. Arch support only moderate. I will see if they can accommodate arch orthotics comfortably. I only wish they had leather instead of synthetic material overlays. A bit pricey for synthetics. However, it seems like a good shoe for "supinators."

I wanted a shoe with ample toe box and width due to bunions. Got it. Shoe has plenty room for orthotic and extra padding, too. Maybe a wee bit too big in the front but better than foot being squeezed.

I bought these shoes to replace a pair of Brooks which wore out. I actually owned a pair of these shoes 4 years ago before my feet got bad. These shoes are shaped nicely for people who need a narrower heel and wider toe box. So, they fit me better than the Brooks. On the other hand, they are uncomfortable for me. The amount of padding is minimal. I actually expected this, and have been experimenting with several different insoles. So far I haven't found anything that works really well (but I'm still working on it!). These are probably good shoes for people who need the shape and stability of these NB shoes, and who are willing to add additional padding to these shoes.

Looks great with my scrubs. Very supportive for a day of standing at work. In terms of style, there are boring, wish they had some fun colorful 847s!

I am 70 years old with a super narrow foot and do not want to look like granny goodrich. With a narrow foot it is very hard to find stylish shoes that fit. Because these shoes are made in the USA and are considered stylish by my granddaughter I think that with an extra innersole (the thickest Dr Scholl I could find) they will be very comfortable. The negative comments about the comfort after wearing them for a while make me nervous; however, I am going to give them a try. God bless the USA, thank you New Balance for making them here, and thank you Zappos for your excellent service.

I bought this shoe as a lightweight 'do whatever you need to do' shoe for everyday use. This is my second pair. I am still very pleased with the shoe, but there doesn't seem to be as much arch support as in the previous pair, which is why I only gave it 4 stars this time. It is still very comfortable, and I like the light turquoise color.

I returned these. For one, it's an ugly shoe. I have wide feet so there is very little style to any in the wide shoe category. There was something off about the way it fit in the toe box. I ended up going to a high end store and paid $200 for a stylish athletic shoe - made in Switzerland. I will pay good money for a good shoe that fits well and looks stylish. NB really needs to up their game in their shoes. Reebok has really cool shoes but apparently are allergic to folks with wide feet. It appears the word on the street is that if you have wide feet, you must sport shoes that an 80 year old would wear.

I got these when the WW665 was out of stock. These didn't fit me as well...my heel slipped out when walking. And I didn't think they were worth the higher price. They looked nice, but because of the heel slippage, I'm returning them.

This shoe is very comfortable and easy to wear. The toe box is a bit large and makes the shoe feel a little bit too big. I also notice a little bit of slipping in the heel, but overall I like the shoe.

These provide wonderful comfort! The toe box is large and gives lots of wiggle room. They are very comfortable, even with all my foot problems.

Very nice looking shoe, but it runs at least a half size too small. I was very pleased to find a narrow width in a color besides ugly white.

Not as comfortable as expected. Toes felt squished and ankle/heel slipped. Disappointed as I was under the impression that this shoe was made for a woman's foot.

These shoes were so nice and light and felt comfortable putting them on. However, my toes brushed the front of the shoe every time I took a step. The pink accents were also a little bit too much for my taste. The edges of the material where the lace eyes are appeared to be unfinished. They had a frayed appearance.

I ordered size 11 since there is no 11.5. Too small. If you need 11.5, order up a size, not down. We need more companies to make half sizes all in 11 not stop at 10

Odd sizing. I got it in my usual size, and my toes were hitting the front of the shoe. At the same time, my heel was sliding up so I didn't want to go up a size. This last is supposed to have a narrow heel, but didn't seem like it.

I like the looks of these shoes and they fit well. Somehow, they just do not feel worth what the price of the shoes is. It does not seem like they have much cushioning and when I walk around on tile flooring, etc., the noise of the sole hitting the floor sounds like the soles of my shoes are made out of plastic. My feet feel good in these shoes (no pain, no sore spots, etc.) and I wear them when I am out and about; have not really worn them for a long walk. I am satisfied with them but not sure that I would buy these same shoes again. I like the color and how they look but they appear way more cushy than I think they really are. I took out the insoles that came with the shoe and replaced them with Spencos. I do like the fact that buying these shoes supports breast cancer research.

These shoes in an extra wide actually fit my very very hard to fit wide. But the top of the right shoe is sewn on cockeyed and the grey rubber tip that comes up is also skewed but in the other direction! That plus hardly any arch support, and the fact they have no leather on them does not add up to a pair of shoes that should cost this much, so back they go.

I have a rather fragile foot, and the soles of these shoes although supportive were just too stiff for me. I need a shoe with more flexibility.

I am trying to replace my NB 846 shoes. I have always worn a size 11, my toe touches the end of this shoe.

I'm a big fan of New Balance but not this shoe. I like to use an insert in my shoe due to foot issues but this one just doesn't work well for me with an insert. I like the style of the shoe and the material. My foot is wide but I find the heel to be especially wide and it slips when I walk and it pulls my sock down.

I looked forward to receiving these, as I have trouble finding shoes that fit me. Alas, my feet took instant exception to these. I have wide toes and a narrow heel and am techically a size 5. I ordered a size 6M. Unfortunately, the toebox was too narrow for me. It's hard to give an accurate rating as the shoes didn't work for my feet.

I have been wearing the 840 series for walking, on advice of my podiatrist, since developing a foot problem seven years ago. My last pair were 845s, which still have the elastic bands for added stability/support connected to the tongue. Wow, is this 847 a decline in quality. Not only do they not have the elastics, but they do not even seem to have as much padding in the front part of the sole. I gad to return them. I searched the internet and found some 846s (now discontinued I think), which do not have the elastics either but do seem a little better padded. When I need to replace again, I will definitely be looking for another brand with more support. For those who can wear them, the sizing did seem consistent with my older New Balances to me, although there was more depth in the toe box.

These shoes are very comfortable, but if you are expecting any leather you won’t get it with these. They are lightweight and nice to look at. I feel they are a bit overpriced for the materials used and I fear that they won’t hold up for long. Very lightweight with excellent stability.

Bought the shoes mainly for power walking. They replace a worn but comfortable set of 940 V2's. Wore them one week and darn things started to squeak near inside heel. Not bad when you're outside but an attention getter when inside. I will not purchase these again.
