LOVE! Super cute, comfortable and a classic style I can wear for years. I usually wear 9.5 to 10, but needed to size down to a 9 in these. They stretch the first couple times you wear them.

I love these boots - perfection! Very true to size. Beautiful color and buckle detail and I love that there is tread on the bottom for cold weather. I will be ordering more Frye boots from Zappos. You get what you pay for and these are worth every penny!

Love these boots! Great look, extra comfortable...a bit snug zipping up with pants tucked in, but expect the leather to give a bit in time.

This is my first pair of Frye boots and I love them! I am a hairdresser and I can wear them all day and my feet feel good! I hear they get more comfortable with wear!

I've never owned a pair of Frye boots, nor had I heard of the company before I purchased these boots. But man oh man, are they quality shoes. You never know what to expect from a picture or even from reviews and descriptions. But when I took these boots out of the box, I knew they were the real deal. Genuine leather, not the thin maleable kind. You know these are gonna last. I love the design, they're just what I had hoped for. They do run snug at first, but if they follow leather's pattern which I imagine they will, they'll stretch over time and give a little more. Until then, they do feel a bit stiff (again, noted quality) and the zipper on the right shoe did dig in and give me an uncomfortable abrasion on my achilles. But as soon as I felt it, I threw on a bandage to protect that spot and all was fine from then on. Even with the scrape, I love these boots enough to do what I have to do to keep them around.

I love these! These are my first tall boots. The zippers rub at my achilles heel just a bit, but I wear an extra pair of athletic ankle height socks for extra padding. Each time I wear the boots, they break in a bit more and I don't think I will have to always wear extra socks once the leather softens. I bought a half size up than what I normally wear.

Great boot! Feels tight in toe box and loose in the heel until you break them in. They are wonderful now after walking around the house with a thick sock for a few days. Love the classic look with a hint of funk in the back zipper.

I love these boots and I've been wearing them all the time. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable.

My review of these boots could be summed up in one word easily: amazing! Of course the great experience started with Zappos - I had ordered the slouch version of this boot because the back zips were out of stock, and while they were nice, they still weren't what I really wanted. Lo and behold, two days after the slouch boots arrived, the back zips came back in stock. Zappos agreed to do a courtesy exchange, and my back zips were on my door step the next morning! Excitedly I brought the box inside and cracked it open...I was so happy with how the boots looked, and they smelled wonderful, too! I chose the Black Antique Pull Up color (still not sure why it's called Pull Up) which is a really rich black leather. It looks like it's already your favorite boot because of the detailing to the leather, but it's not distressed at all. It's a great looking boot - perfect to dress up with skirts and dresses, and just as great looking with skinny jeans, cords, or leggings. What I especially like about this style is that it's structured - when you're wearing them, the boots will not slouch, they'll nicely conform to your legs. To me, this makes them more appropriate for me to wear at my business casual office with dresses and skirts. The zipper down the back looks really cool and makes getting in and out of the boots a cinch! (My one and only gripe is that sometimes the zipper will get stuck near the very top of the boot, there's stitching there that's pretty thick so I sometimes have to maneuver it out of the way to get the zipper all the way zipped.) The straps across the back of the boot are also another fabulous detail, I haven't experienced the snaps coming undone like some other reviewers have reported, if anything, sometimes I find them holding too tight at the end of the day when I want to take the boots off! As far as the fit - I wear a 9.5, and purchased a 9.5. I have very narrow feet, so I found the narrow toe box to be perfect. (I could see it being constricting if you have wider feet.) There is enough padding in the insole to make these comfortable to wear all day - I have worn them all day at work (where I run around a lot) and then out to the mall shopping that night without any issues at all! That's great comfort for about 12 hours of wearing!They are great around my calves, which I would say are thin to normal. They feel cozy, not constricting. I love these boots so much that I treated myself to the Cognac color as well! I alternate between the two and probably wear them on average 4-5 times a week, and I know they'll be fabulous for many years to come, based on the craftsmanship Frye puts behind their products. Yes, they're a little expensive, but you will have them for many years so they are totally worth it. If you're thinking about them, treat yourself, you'll be happy you did!

Very good looking boots, great leather, made in Mexico though, not US like they used to be. My snaps haven't been coming open like some had happening. I do find the forefoot toe box to be too confining, low and narrow, but I am hoping it stretches. I took them to a shoe repair shop and they said they can stretch the toe box, but it's better to break them in naturally so they conform to your foot. They also said this boot has a reinforced to box, which makes it very tight and hard but that it too will break in or can eventually be stretched overnight by them in the upward direction to allow room for my orthotics. I got a size 9.5, I wear 8.5 without orthotics. I was told the footbed will conform to my foot as I wear them, also. I had extra holes put into the ankle strap so I could keep my foot back into the heel with it and that helped alleviate slippage. My feet hurt from them but only after 6 hours of wearing on the first day. They feel so narrow in the toe box, but only after I wore them a few hours with thick socks and orthotic full insoles, thick ones. I may cave and stretch them. She said I can put alcohol inside and wear them 'til they dry to stretch or take them in for her to put on a stretcher. Also, I am older and didn't get too excited about the abused look of the dark brownn/winish color so I had them oiled/waxed at the shoe repair shop and that looks better to me and had the sole edges dressed for a finished look. I know the younger people probably prefer the distressed look, but I like them now more finished. The nice thing is you have a choice with this good leather. I am proud of them and got many compliments from strangers at the mall as I shopped in them. They were an early Christmas gift and I am very happy with them. I will make them work. My husband says all Fryes take about 2 months to really break in and then you don't ever want to take them off and they last forever. I liked them better than the slouch ones because these have a leather lining in the leg and the leather is cooler looking to me, also I love the buckles & snaps & straps. I can fit any pants inside. I am only 5.4 and I do find them to be a great height. Also, the shoe repair shop lady said that reinforced toe box makes them stronger but that's why they feel so tight but they will stretch, even that reinforcement is going to stretch eventually. I finally was able to get some leggings and enjoy that look as well as tuck in pants. Going to save money on pants! Oh, I have a wide foot, too.

Just got these boots and I love them! Super comfortable right out of the box. I have already received a number of complements on them too. I have the Frye Harness boots and it took a little while to wear them in, they are also a little tough to put on but the back zipper on these boots makes taking them on and off a breeze and you can't beat the quality of the leather, well worth the money!

I love these boots! They are so comfortable and they look amazing! I can't go anywhere without getting compliments. They're very well made and worth every penny! One of my favorite things about them though is the circumference around my calves. Not too tight not too wide. Perfect!

I had been eyeing these boots for quite some time and after reading many reviews I finally decided to get them. I was not disappointed! I got the boots in the dark brown antique finish and they're beautiful. The dark color has reddish undertones where it is has more of the worn finish. The boots seem to run big. I typically wear between 8.5 and 9 (leaning more towards the 9) and the 8.5 fit just perfectly! There did not seem to be any break in period. They were comfortable right from the start. I did notice some heel slip, but after wearing them a few times it became less evident. You do have to undo the snap straps in the back in order to unzip them. To some this may be annoying, but truthfully it's not that big a deal. These straps did come undone a few times during normal wear, but it typically was when the boot rubbed against something else. The Frye Veronica Back Zip are amazing boots and I hope to have them for a long time.

These are the best boots I have tried on or seen and every color is beautiful! They are very well made and sturdy. So happy I splurged! If you are on the fence you should get them -you wont regret it! Zappos is awesome with delivery and customer service. I try to purchase things online from Zappos for this reason!

These are my first pair of Fryes and they are super comfortable. I have tried on other types of Fryes (Harness boot and another mid rise boot) and they were nowhere near as comfortable. I have very small calves and the Veronica Back Zip fit perfectly. I have worn them with skirts and skinny jeans. The first day I wore the boots, I had them on all day with zero discomfort. As another customer posted, the snaps can pop open, like when you accidentally brush your leg against something, but I have not found it to be a big problem. I must give a huge shout-out to Zappos: I ordered these boots late Saturday afternoon and they arrived Monday!

If your style is a clean, fresh and slightly stiffer boot, these are for you! I wasn't keen on the 'slouch' part of the Veronica boot, but these back zip's are perfect! Boot is very classic, stylish and will last for a long time to come. I wanted a pair of boots that would be clean and fresh from the start, and build up their own vintage look over time, and the dark brown antique pull up fit the bill. Today is my first day wearing them, and I'm sure I'll get compliments! Very classic boot, am so pleased with them, after scouring the internet for the best fall boots, and returning several pair. Zappos provided the best return and delivery service ever!

The most beautiful boot - buckles add some toughness but they are still sleek and lovely. got the cognac color which is gorgeous. snaps and zippers work fine; bought usual size 8.5 and fit was perfect. plenty of room for pants tucked in. so glad I got these!

Color cognac antique, beautiful color. Usually wear a 7.5 in all shoes. Ordered the 7.5 at first I thought they might be a bit small, but stayed with them and glad I didn't get an 8 because they stretched out after the first wear or two and I love them. I get so many compliments. I have semi athletic calves and I am 5'3" 120 lbs and can tuck jeans in with no problem they are a nice fit for even skinny calves. My new favorite boot!

These are the best boots I've ever purchased. The quality is fantastic. I love the look of them. They do take a little while to break in so "heel-slip" may occur for the first few wears.

These boots are fantastic! The dark brown antique is great, i was worried they would be a bit too beat up, but that is not the case. They are perfect. They fit fairly narrow, a slight irritation from the zipper on my heel but as the leather gives a bit I do not expect these to be problems. I normally wear from 8.5-9.5, I got a 9. These boots are awesome!

I had to get a half size larger to accomodate my calves. The buckles on the bottom un-snap when you are walking to long. They are comfortable. Had been looking for a new pair of black boots .

These are space cowboy boots! (Or at least, that's how I felt.) Unfortunately, they required a bit too much effort to get in and out of for me (mom of a 4-month-old). The snaps must be undone each time you want to operate the zipper- and I just don't usually have two hands available to me these days.
