Exactly what I was looking for, good investment since they last without ripping or wearing out. I also own a Surge North Face Backpack. The Surge does have more room and pockets. I will state however I purchased the all backpack with the grey north face logo and the one I received was all black with a black logo. Really liked how the grey stood out but don't mind the black on black.

I loved the color and the design, lots of room and able to carry your laptop. Buit to last, my only issue with the backpack is that it was too small my height is 5'11" and it was too small, I felt most of my back wasn't covered and the backpack piled too much on my neck. I wish I could use the backpack but I'm returning it and buying a male backpack, seeing if size changes.

I love the way this backpack looks and all the pockets it includes. I just wish the front pocket (where you put pens, pencils, and small personal items) had a little more room and extended to the bottom of the backpack instead of stopping in the middle. Overall, I'm very pleased!

I just starting using this backpack for college today, but I already love it! It's cute and gives me good back support. My only qualm with it is that the pockets are all a little too small, so I can't fit much in them. I also just wish it stood up on its own like a previous backpack I had.

I love this backpack. It holds a lot but the shape doesn't give out. I use it for work, school, and for traveling and it never fails to work great. However, one complaint I do have is that the two side pockets to hold a water bottle are very flimsy. They are made of thin material and it constantly seems like it's going to tear. This backpack is still fairly new for me - so we'll see how ti holds up.

I bought this to use for nursing school, and I absolutely love it! It's definitely a lot more sturdy and durable yet still flexible enough to feel comfortable. There is a huge difference between a generic Jansport backpack and a North Face , and the price is definitely worth it. There is enough storage for a laptop, textbook, folder, notebook, pencil case, planner, chargers, etc. LOVE IT.

This was made for a smaller woman, not my 5'11" daughter for school. It was too small in the shoulders.

Bought for my daughter after returning a similar version that wasn't big enough for all the stuff she totes back and forth to school.

Great backpack, but not enough room for larger folders for school. My 17 year old loves the Borealis, but is disappointed the zippers don't unzip all the way down both sides.

The best thing about the Borealis Backpack is how much space you have to store anything! But it is a little expensive. With that said I would most definitely recommend to someone who is looking for a spacious backpack.

Size is great and it seems like it will work well for school. Main complaint is the color is a bit duller than shown on the website but it has grown on me over the past two weeks.

This product is so nice for school! Easy to use and you can pack quite a lot in the 4 pockets. I love the design and how detailed the backpack looks! My one on about this backpack compared to the Jester is because the Borealis is to be more complex and sturdy I believe it's a tad less comfortable than the Jester! So if you are going for comfort the Jester might be for you but I really wanted a big backpack! Love it so much! Thanks again The North Face!

I use the product for school, and I put all my pencils and pens in the front pocket. That gets very full quickly and it tends to make the backpack top heavy. When I set it down it falls over because the front is so heavy. The front pocket does not go all the way down so it makes it hard to grab things from the bottom of the backpack in the other pockets. Other than this, the backpack is very well built and it has been a great backpack!

I previously owned a black/gold detail Borealis backpack, which I had for 3 years. This backpack remained in perfect condition, except for one very frustrating detail which other reviewers have noted- the mesh on the side pockets tore through in the first year of owning it. This is the worst quality about this backpack. I use the side pockets frequently for quick access and the fact that they wear out so quickly is such a let down. I repurchased this backpack in the TNF Black Heather/Silver Reflective (btw- this does look like the picture, it is a true black and not heather like the item description- I was hoping it would look like the pic so I am pleased). I wanted a style update and to get a new one so the pockets are fixed. If TNF had some sort of free/fast repair service even JUST for the side pockets, or if they replaced it with a sturdier material, this would be a flawless backpack. If I could repair the side pockets at a TNF store (maybe you can but I'm not sure) I might have this backpack for 10 years or more. I even purchased a different water bottle in the hopes that it would stop the side pockets of my new backpack from wearing down. It is a great backpack for school and fits everything I need. I have taken this thing across the world and used it as a personal item for flights and I can fit everything I need for a weekend in it. I've used it for hikes and daytrips and it is comfortable to wear all day. I really like the versatility of this bag, not only in function but in appearance. When you use it as a hiking backpack, it makes sense aesthetically- when you use it for school, it makes sense- when you use it for travel, it makes sense. Basically, you never look like you are carrying this ridiculous out of place backpack, no matter what you are using it for. Overall it is a very nice bag and a good investment piece for any wardrobe.

I give this only 4 stars because it’s a great bag but not the bag for me. The back and straps are rigid, something that you’d need for a longer trip. I wanted a bag for short hikes and plane rides with kids so I went with the Jester, a lighter and more flexible backpack.

It's a really nice looking backpack but I believe it's a new model so the pockets are different than some of the other Borealis backpacks (I bought the black and white). If you don't put a lot of things in your bag other than a computer and a few other things then I would recommend. It's too small for school use.

Daughter will be using for college. Looks very sturdy and durable. She wishes water bottle pocket was larger (she carries a large bottle). And wish the straps were a little different design...maybe more adjustments in straps are needed.
