There was a small piece missing from the package. The switch would only work while you held it on making it awkward to use. Returned it to the store.

I'm a real fan of KitchenAid products, almost all my kitchen appliances are in fact KA but I think this inmersin blender is a little underpowered for the uses I most often intend to do with it. It is great to mix a home made mayonnaise or an alioli, it will work great for smoothies or fruit juices as long as you don't use frozen ingredients but if you plan to use it on a batch of dense soup or on a thick deep it just won't be able to do it. Maybe those are not the intended uses so it wasn't designed to be able to go through those thick mixes.
It just depends on what you intend to use it for

Product seems fine but there is misinformation in the owners manual, and be prepared to wait if you need customer service. The included instructions for KHB1232 said to make sure to attach the included "pan guard" to the bottom of the blending arm so you don't scratch the cookware. There is even a picture of the pan guard and a picture showing you how to install it. No pan guard was included so I called customer service. I reached someone after listening to hold music for half an hour. They said they didn't know what I was talking about. After checking further they said it was a "misprint" and that they have discontinued the pan guard as it was not thought to be necessary. They said the design of the blade housing was such that it shouldn't scratch the cookware. More likely they are probably trying to cut cost. Will avoid using in coated/no stick cookware, just to be safe.

Hand blender works great, but just wish it was cordless. That is why I gave it three stars instead of five.

when we opened the box and saw the pan guard was missing we returned it and exchanged it for another one. The new one was also missing the guard. That is when we finally found an answer online that they no longer make the part. nice to know before you buy. other than that it works well

Just purchased this morning. Box was sealed and packaging was intact. But the instructions state that this model includes a "pan guard" but was not in the box. That is a disappointment.

Works as it should. However it is missing the rubber/plastic guard for the bottom that would prevent damage to teflon/hard anodized pots and pans. I called support and was told it is not included in the box anymore.
I was also told it wouldn't damage the surfaces. They are wrong. I made spaghetti sauce and the metal housing that contains the blades did scratch the bottom of my stainless steel pot.
A simple thing like a guard, that the instructions "tell" you to use, would have prevented this. What were the "bean counters" thinking ? More interested in caring about profit, than me.
I am disappointed.

I received this as a Christmas gift from grandson. I loved it! It was a monster at making smoothies! I used it about a dozen times the first few months that I had it. Several times recently however it has stalled while I was using it. Tonight it stalled several times while making a smoothie. I had to bring out the Ninja to finish the job. Perhaps mine was an anomaly. I've not read any bad reviews.

I keep looking for a stick hand blender that's solid state, and from the metal immersion portion on the bottom one would think the internals would be all metal as well. Instead once one separates the motor from the lower half, we find plastic fins that are part of the locking mechanism, and other internal plastics. How long before these strip out like my last two? This is a planned obsolescence made to fail. I don't relish having to buy yet another in a few years because of this design. Also, the provided cup's a rather thin plastic. Still, it does the job, and we liked the inclusion of a silicone lid for the cup.

I received this as a Christmas gift because I had mentioned that I would like to have a submersible blender.

I bought this blender for the sole purpose of making homemade mayo. I was unimpressed with the result I got. The food processor just works better for me for this one purpose. The cord was kind of a pain in the neck, and got in the way. This seems like one of those appliances that will sit in my pantry, unused.

The blender replaced an old one that I had it is far superior. However, after only the second use the bottom of the plastic jar cracked after using it to make a protein smoothie. Great that the blender could easily crush the ice, bad that the process broke the jar.

Received the product as a birthday gift. The box was missing a part. Registered the product then called in to say a part was missing was told the product had been discontinued. Hence, no part available to replace Sad.

Got this immersion blender for Christmas. I had veen wanting one for awhile. The guard that protects the bottom whatever your blending is was not included. Was dissatisfied and disappointed but got it as a gift so, it is what it is. Bad quality control. I will be investigating in a different brand I guess. Maybe theyll include all the parts

Cheap brittle plastic coupling the blending stick to the drive motor fractured in several places.
Renders the blender impossible to use. This blender has experienced only light use. As a durable kitchen appliance, not recommended.

I received the hand blender a week before Christmas. Thought a part was missing, which I have found out from other reviews was never there, and contacted Kitchenaid. I was supposed to hear something back in 24 hours. Still no contact. Bad customer service. When things are listed in instruction book and how to use....shouldn't it be included or at least say "not included". I always thought kitchenaid was a company that you could count on. Now my thoughts are hmmmmmm.

I bought this for my husband and was disappointed when I received it. The arm/attachment was fine but the base interior where the arm locks in was off centered which causes rubbing of the plastic as well as difficulty with assembly. I had to purchase a different model anyways so I'm not completely at a loss. I'm sure it's just a "one off" and I most likely wouldn't have the same problem if I purchased another one but it's still a waste of money in the end. My husband may still use it for other things but it will be staying attached so the plastic does not rub any further, making it impossible to use.

I was looking for a stainless-look immersion blender to replace my tired plastic one. Not knowing to look for wattage information, this KitchenAid was fairly expensive (which I thought translated directly to power) and fit the look I wanted so I bought it and immediately tossed the old one. Was I ever SORRY! when it came to canning and soup season! Even on the higher speed, it is a very painful process to blend a pot of soup. It is pretty near impossible to blend, for example, a pot of tomatoes! Not a good buy, in my books. It really only did a good job in the little cup thing that came with it - pretty useless for me and my family. However, the sound level was reasonable and the colour was great to match my other appliances!
