I have worked in retail for over 35 years now and the concrete floors have taken a toll on my feet. I am always looking for comfortable shoes to wear! My husband spent 12 weeks in the hospital and I kept noticing and asking the nursing staff about their footwear. After several glowing reviews, I decided to give Alegrias a try. Boy am I glad that I did! I ordered them Wednesday, got them Thursday ad wore them to work on Friday. My feet never hurt all day! Now I am trying to decide which pair to order next!

I really wanted the Pesca to fit. It is a cute (toe enclosed) fisherman sandal for summer travel. Though the toe box feels great for a neuroma or joint capsulitis, the heel is wide. There is only moderate adjustment on the loop Velcro closure and I couldn't tighten it enough to make the heel stop slipping. For someone with a wide foot or heel they should fit true to size. Sadly, I have to return.

These shoes seem to run on the narrow side. If you wanted to wear socks with them then you'd have to order the wider size. The backs would need to be broken in. They rubbed the back of my feet for the few minutes I walked around in them in the house. They have great arch/heel support but very little in the front of the shoe. I'm sending them back because they just didn't work out. I guess I'm too used to my Keens which offer support from the front to the back of the shoe (at least their old ones do). As always, Zappos is great about returns. It's why I shop here for all my shoes.

Way too wide and big for me. I usually wear a 38/39 in these too. Disappointed. Had to return and didn't want to take a chance on a smaller size.

I wanted to like these shoes, but when I walked in them for a bit my foot started to slide to outside of the shoe and the straps pinched my foot in a way that I could tell with long walks they would quickly become uncomfortable. They're not really as cute as they seem; they're kind of flat and not as stylish as they seem in the picture. I've bought and tried enough shoes to tell this won't do for the long haul. Really disappointed, they look better than they feel. Sorry to have to return them.

Very comfortable shoe but size 39 was too big and 38 a bit too small. I did keep the 38 because I really needed closed toe sandals. I just can't use them when a lot of walking is required. This shoe also has a specialized snap-in insole and I wasn't able to use my own orthopedic insole. Not what I expected from Alegria.

Love the style, color, quality and fit. One shoe squeaked which I didn't discover until I had worn them so neither Zappos nor the manufacturer would take them back. The company did send me a new pair of insoles the cured the problem. I bought these because of all the positive comments but I've had them for a month and can't wear them every day because they make my feel hurt badly for a few days after. Another style might be ok, but I only wear these when I'm sitting much of the time. The heels are wide and can rub blisters.

I purchased these shoes in April as they are supposed to be supportive and comfortable for those on their feet all day. While I applaud the customer service from Zappos, I have been disappointed with the shoes. They rubbed sores on my heels when I first began wearing them. I manipulated the heel backs, stretching them back, so that does not happen, now. Within a month, wearing once or twice a week, both shoes developed very loud, annoying squeaks. I must pry up the insoles and sprinkle talcum powder on them about every two weeks to quiet it. Also, they are not as supportive as expected and do not have as much shock absorption as I had hoped. I walk 1 1/2 miles to work every day and walk a mile on my morning and afternoon breaks, so I do give them quite a workout.

I wanted to like these. I thought they'd be a great combination of closed toe, support and comfort with a little summer sandal style thrown in. But when I took them out of the box, I just thought they were ugly. And they didn't get any cuter on my foot. The burnished midnight color is a sort of dirty charcoal, not much blue in the hue. Back they go!

I really wish I wore these around the house more before I wore them outside making them non-returnable. The reason for only three stars is because even though the shoe itself is very comfortable, I wanted to wear them without socks (they are called sandals after all). The problem is that the top most strap has elastic in it to make it easier to put on. When I walked, the elastic would stretch in and out ,and where it attached to the shoe rubbed against my foot. I got home with two big red marks on my feet that were on the way to becoming blisters if I walked any longer. With socks, they are okay, but that's not what I wanted them for.

I loved the shoes, I kept trying them around the house. However, I have a narrow heel and they moved up and down on my heel. Sorry to have to return them beautiful shoes.

Comfortable and good looking. However I've tried two pair and they both squeak badly even after breaking in.

So cute and yet so wide. I usually wear European 38, but my foot was absolutely swimming in this model. Sad to return.

These weren't cute and they felt a 1/2 size too small. I'm usually a 9 and my toes were hitting against the top of the shoe.

Leather too stiff! I hoped it would be something that I wouldn’t need to break in. Also, the toe box could have been a little roomier.

The shoes were not the leather I'm accustom to wearing, it felt like I was walking in cowboy boots. The shoes didn't look at all as advertise. It's hard to say if the shoes were "true to width", I have a similar black pair that I wear with socks, I could not get socks into this shoe.

I could not get the shoe on because there is no way to open the buckle!

Too stiff!

I was surprised by the gold thread around the shoe. I doesn't show up that well in the picture but I thought the gold looked tacky. However I might have kept the shoes but I couldn't adjust the strap snug enough to fit. I had to return the shoes.

These shoes are cut large and with the removable footbed I thought I could use my orthotics. I could see the back of my orthotic, it didn't fit into the shoe.

I'm such a fan of the Alegria "Classic Cut Out" that I wanted to try the Alegria "Pesca" in order to have a pair where my heels were covered. Although size 37 is perfect in the Classic Cut Out, it proved too large in the Pesca. So I tried the Pesca style on with fairly thick socks (as opposed to my usual medium-weight socks), and that made for a pretty comfortable fit. But in the end, I decided against these shoes because it was too hard to get my foot under the strap and into the shoe (especially with socks on). I loosened the strap as far as it would go, but I still didn't have enough room to easily slip my foot into the shoe. I think I would buy these shoes if the strap were made in a different way, so that I could easily unhook it completely and have the shoe wide open for me to slip my foot into.

Once I got the shoe on, it was amazingly comfortable. The problem with this shoe is an awful strap design. Anyone who has even a slightly high instep will probably not be able to get the shoe on their foot. When you lift the Velcro tab, the strap cannot loosen at all. It is too wide to go through the clasp. Therefore, there is no need to lift the Velcro tab. I could not get my foot into the shoe at all. I am surprised that this expensive shoe made for problem feet has such a bad design. Alegria, please just change the strap so that it can be pulled out to allow a foot to go into the shoe.

I really wanted to like these shoes. I was looking for comfortable shoes for summer time travel. They feel really flat and wide. The platform is a lot smaller than it seems in the picture.

I am not happy with these sandals. They are plenty wide, but too short, binding and scraping the skin on my toes. Also, the backs are too high, chafing the skin on the back of my ankle. Too bad, because the closed-toe style is perfect for work. Bummer too, because I tossed the box weeks ago so not really can return them.
