Best shoes ever. I bought these (and my husband got the men's version) specifically for a hike in Hawaii that we knew was going to be slippery, muddy, and would involve crossing rivers. I think these shoes were specifically designed with this particular hike in mind. Although parts of the trail were slippery red clay and wet rocks, the traction was great - even on the downhill and I always slip and fall going downhill. We would watch the people in their hiking boots and socks take them off to cross the rivers while we just plunged right through, no socks even needed. They drained well, dried quickly, tons of mud rinsed off no problem at all. I did get a couple small blisters but nothing major. Wore them again kayaking/hiking and they were great there too. Perfect shoes for this kind of activity! I bought this light gray/blue combo and would have preferred a darker color but they are only available in men's. I wish shoe companies would stop assuming women want girly color shoes with flowers on them (there is a tiny flower near the front - really? Not necessary).

These are 5-star shoes with 1-star color options! I have had a pair of these shoes for more years than I can count -- at least 12! They are by far my favorite shoes to wear an any situation that involves wet hiking (in rivers, at the coast, in the rain, whatever). They have excellent soles with very good grip in clay and on wet river rocks. And they have enough support that I can take them as my only shoes when I will be in variable conditions. I've used them to hike through the jungle one day and then on a mountain trail the next. They can be worn with or without socks. In short, they are the perfect adventure-travel shoe! But, I have a problem. My 12+ year old shoes are breaking down. The soles are worn and I finally got a rip in one of the mesh panels (which, but the way are excellent for keeping debris out of the shoes when hiking through streams). I would buy 5 more pairs of these right now if Salomon would stop making them in such horrible (girly? or just silly?) colors. I need shoes that I can wear with my black travel pants when I'm walking around the city and then wear with my hiking clothes the next day. My originals are just that. When I put them on with "regular" clothes, no on one notices them. When I am ready for action, so are they. And, that is perfect! These new colors are not appropriate for both city and trail wear -- which means that I would have to take another pair of shoes in my backpack/carry-on bag. Not good Salomon! No one else makes a shoe with these specs, but the new colors just don't work for my travel-light needs. Salomon, please give us some basic (dark) colors!

These shoes are adorable!! I would have loved to have kept them but I couldn't get past the color. I ordered a size 8 according to recommendations. (I'm a true 8 1/2) An 8 was a smidge too small and would have had to been exchanged. The scoreblue color while fabulous wouldn't go with any of the natural color clothing I wear on the job. Very sad. These would have been perfect, great ventilation for hot days but not open as to let in rocks.

Got these shoes based on a recommendation of another customer. Absolutely perfect. Took them hiking through through forest and rocks, and water. I couldn't have picked a better shoe. Oh, and the temps were over 100 degrees - and my feet were happy.

I had these a few years ago and thought it was time for a new pair. I'm always a size 9, not ever in-between, and the 9 in these felt a little big - maybe just a half size. Other than that, they are great - very comfortable, very cute.

These definitely run at least a half size big. I usually wear a 9 in shoes (e.g., Asics, Nike), sometimes a 9.5 (e.g., Mizuno). In these, the 9 was too large.

This water shoe is "almost perfect" but the non-elastic, nylon drawstring is a deal-breaker for me...it feels like a high-maintenance, breakable, very thin shoelace. I'm a Keen girl from way back and will always favor the no-hassle elastic cord. I haven't lost faith in Salomon over this though and this is an excellent shoe otherwise. Be sure to buy at least a 1/2 size down from your regular size.

Good looking shoes. I was afraid hiking/water shoes would be on the "not so cute" side but this pair is really cute. I ordered a size larger at first and exchanged them for my normal size of 6.5. They are comfortable too.

I usually wear a size 6.5, but half sizes are not offered in this shoe so I ordered a size 7. Love the shoes but the 7 was too big. My heel lifted up to high and I had lots of room in the toe area. I'm hoping a 6 is available to try. Great constructed shoe for water and hiking.

Great fit, love the adjustable heel strap (narrow heel problem solved), enough forefoot space too, comfy, love the minimal weight. The only slight minus is the lower sole which I wished was not so soft. I use these as lightweight comfy shoes for rappelling after a climb, they clip to the harness easily and weigh almost nothing. So comfy on multipitch, and non-slip. But on the smaller ledges, a stiffer sole would be nice to provide more support. I would think that as a water sandal in uneven terrain, you would have similar issues and want a stiffer sole (but that might increase the weight). For what they are and what they cost me (around $50 on sale), they are great.

These shoes are the cutest. I have not worn them yet, but I did try them on and they fit perfectly. They do run a half size too big. I’m a true 7 1/2 and I ordered a seven. These are my second pair of this brand Solomon. I’ll update my review after I try them out next weekend for a hike.

I bought this shoe for a trip covering a few national parks which will include some canyons / stream trails. I can’t yet report on their performance there, but I would agree with some other reviewers that these shoes can be a bit rough to break in - I initially had a few pretty nasty blisters. I read elsewhere the suggestion to break them in with a thin sock to start, and I’ve been doing so on a few 2 mile walks locally and I can now say that they’re awesome as intended with no socks. It just took maybe 3-4 uses. They’re grippy and comfortable.

I purchased these for a week long canoe trip and hiking to swimming holes. They are very comfortable, keep most sand and rocks out and drain/dry quickly. Toe protection was great, and they were very supportive and stable on slippery rocks and while lugging gear around on uneven terrain. They are very comfortable both wet and dry, although it took me a few tries to figure our the best way to tighten to avoid rubbing on the ankle bones. I've owned several pairs of salomon shoes/boots in the past, and found that these fit similarly. After two months they don't show any sign of breaking down. Great Purchase!

Perfect for water sports and hiking through streams and trails. Only downside is when you get rocks, sand and pebbles in your shoes in a hike, they don't flow out easily, given the mesh-style siding. Of course this also prevents them getting in in the first place.
