I love these shorts. I have them in 2 colors. I bought them a size larger than I usually wear - based on others reviews - and I need to wear a belt. But not sure I would go smaller if I were to buy a third pair.

I love these shorts! They are very flattering and really really cute!

Love these shorts. The fabric is lightweight but not see-through-thin, and the extra pockets come in handy when I don't want to carry a bag. Sizing runs a little large, and they stretch out a bit with wear.

Nice fit. They fit slightly below the waist with room for your tush. I'm 5"5', 130 lb and the 6 fits well. The snapping pockets are very secure and the fabric feels substantial. If you're sensitive to smells, these do have that very slight chemical odor that "performance" fabrics often have. I notice that only when I first take them out of a suitcase or something--once they get a little air, it dissipates.

I ordered a size 4 and a 6. The fabric is great and I love the length. I returned both because the 4 was a little snug in the hips and the 6 was much too big. I am 5' 6'' and 125 lbs with relatively slim hips and thicker thighs. I'm disappointed that these did not fit. I am going to try a different style.

Kuhl usually runs a little tight and that's what these were so I'm sending them back. I ordered other Kuhl shorts in a different style, 9'length, and the same size fits fine, so I'll keep those. These would be great shorts for vacation, quick drying and you can rinse and wear again.

Nice fabric. Love the pockets - have a couple of other colours.

I like these and bought a second pair. Good thing to know maybe is that I have tow pairs the splash pants and the sizing of the shorts is a little smaller than the pants, but not so much that I ended up needing to buy a different size. The shorts stretched out very quickly when I put them on. I really like the longer length. Very comfortable and soft fabric.

I was hoping to find a short that is longer than 3-5" in length, but 11" is a bit much. I can live with the length, but the type of material of the short along with two seems on each side of the inside leg causes a rubbing sensation when walking. It almost feels like walking in corduroys.

I bought these because I have the 13inch ones and I loved the drawstring waist, unfortunately these do not have the drawstring and the waist is too baggy in the back. I'm 5'10 168lbs and bought a size 12. I have a small waste and larger hips so I really needed the drawstring. I will return.

I liked the length and styling, but the sizing is way off. I usually wear a 6 in shorts, but decided to try an 8 since I know from experience that Kuhl runs small. But the 8 was too tight. I'm returning for a 10. Be prepared to size up.

I love these shorts! They are very comfortable. The fabric, which I wasn't too sure about at first is very nice. Easy to get stains out, and nice against your skin. They did not stretch out to a size or two bigger. They did stretch out, but not to point where a belt was required. I wear a 6 or 8, bought these in an 8 and I think a 6 would have been fine too. 5'9" 144lbs

I love the style - these 11" shorts run a little tighter than the roll-up capri style. They look to be the same style, just different lengths, but size wise, these run tighter.

These shorts run small and tight. Being a cargo short I wish they had a looser fit. I'm not sure why all women's shorts are so darned tight to the form? We need shorts for gardening and doing other house projects and hey.. just for sitting around. These shorts also have very little give in terms of spandex and are as mentioned by another poster, tight in the rear. I ordered the next size up, not sure that I will keep them. They are good looking, but the feel isn't so great.

I am 5.45 tall and 123lbs. I usually wear and 8. I ordered and 8 and an 11 and the 8 fit perfectly, returned the 11. They are longer than I like, but I cuff them and then they are ok. They are great to hike in, but rather stiff for the car ride. The fabric is light, but does not have much stretch.

I really wanted to love these shorts. The fabric is sturdy, flattering and comfortable. The waistband gapped in the back so I am returning them.

Well-made/tailored shorts; have them in most colors. Didn't get 5 stars: back pockets are not deep enough for phone, wish waist was slightly higher, product has slight 'petroleum' smell that hasn't washed out yet.

Almost perfect. Just enough stretch that the waistband doesn't dig into my belly fluff and cargo pockets deep enough to secure an iPhone 6. If they were 1" longer they would be perfect. Carbon color is nice, I will buy another pair when I get my birthday gift card! Wish there was a light gray color option.

I bought three pairs of these in different colors. I love the length (as I wanted them just above the knee). I did not pay too close attention to fabric - I was hoping they were a little lighter weight and would be more wrinkle resistant. The hem of shorts crinkles up after being dried in drier.

First time to try Kuhl. Just received these in khaki & carbon, hoping to take them hiking in a few weeks. Love the fabric, length, style and the pockets! BUT, like almost every other reviewer, these run about a size small. I consistently wear a 2 and I could probably wear these, but they are pretty snug and if they shrink at all, they'll be uncomfortably tight, esp. in the crotch. Would rather have a 4, but unfortunately, all the 4s are sold out right now. I haven't decided to whether or not keep one of the 2s for the trip. Bummer!

Very nice fabric and style. Sizes vary from color to color. I have the size 6 in charcoal and 8 in blue. May return the blue as they are a bit too long but fit the same around waist.

I love KUHL clothes. I was disappointed in these. They run small. I'm 5'4" and 128 lbs, and a size 6 for 20+ years. These were very tight...they loosed up a little after several months, but still not a great fit. Also the color fades quickly, so now they are more gray than black. The material is good though, strong and comfortable. Lots of pockets, but unfortunately mostly useless because they are 1) too small - can't even fit my iPhone and 2) because the fit is too tight to get anything in there. Oh well. I still wear them around the house and for short hikes, but I can't recommend them.

I'm only 5'2" and these are just too long for me. Felt fine and I really like the pockets. I'll be returning them for the 7" inseam.

They changed their cut and this now runs a half size smaller than their shorts from 2 years ago. Have to send the 8 back for the 10, and I'm usually a 6 or 8 in everything. Annoying, but these shorts have such great pockets it's worth it.

Runs small around the waist and then way too baggy in the legs (at least, in the bigger sizes I was trying on). Not a flattering look.
