I am a size 8. After reading the previous reviews I thought I would go a half size or a size up. 8.5 or 9 were not available in black so I took a chance and got the brown in 8. They were a little snug on the top of my feet, but after walking around in them they were fine. When putting them on they felt a bit tight-can't wear thick socks with them, but I don't mind. I think the 8.5 or 9 would be a little too big so I'm glad I went with the 8. They look great with leggings or jeans. They smell oh so great... I hope an 8 in black gets restocked soon!

I usually wear a 7.5 if it's available, sometimes 8. I ordered the 7.5 and it was a bit too snug so I got the 8 and love them. I was afraid my heel would slip up when I walk but they're totally comfy and I'm comfortable riding my motorcycle in them. Sweet boots.

I have been eyeing these boots for quite some time and made sure my honey got them for me for my birthday. Love them! They are insanely comfortable. I can go from riding my motorcycle straight to working 10-12 hour days standing up in a retail pharmacy. I read the reviews about people getting it a 1/2 a size to a full size larger and that was a huge mistake. I'm normally an 8.5 and have somewhat wide feet. I got the 9 based on the reviews and had to return it for the 8.5. The quality lives up to the standards of all Steve Madden shoes and I think it's a great buy.

Love these boots. I am a size 6 1/2 and they fit perfectly. First night I owned them I wore them out on the town and walked miles in them. No blisters or rubbing, did not even have to break them in. I want a pair in every color.

I love these shoes, I really shouldn't have waited so long to order them. They're comfy, durable, and so freakin cute. I get compliments every time I wear them. I was worried the 11's would look a little too man-ish and combat like but they're pretty much perfect.

Can you really go wrong with any footwear by Steve Madden? I think not! These boots are bitchin'... comfy as can be (I found sizing to be right on, per the reviews) and look good with whatever you throw on for the day... thanks again Steve (and Zappos)!

I got these boots and loved the look, thought they appeared to look small and were they ever. I wear a 7.5 and my toes were all the way to the end. will try again in a 8.5. Would like the stone leather but can't seem to find them now.

Love these boots! I get compliments on them all the time. I normally wear an 8 but after reading a few reviews, I bought the 7 1/2, at first they felt too tight, but now that they are broken in, I'm glad I bought a half size smaller, the fit perfect, they do loosen up a lot.

I spent months pining for this shoe until I finally broke down and bought it despite the price. Best idea ever! It is worth the price as it has a completely smooth, soft leather upper that smells amazing. The sole is sturdy yet giving and flexible. I've walked all day in them, and my feet felt fine. And to top it all off, they look amazing with everything - jeans, skirts, leggings. Love them.

Well made, durable. A little utilitarian in feel. Returned them for a classier boot.

Very nice leather, unlined which is ideal, but the shoe sole is all black versus what is in the picture, giving it a very different look and feel. They were also too narrow in the toe box (I prefer roomier toe boxes). I will be returning these for those reasons. These would be great for someone with a regular to narrow fit and who does not mind a different all-black sole. The adjustable belt loops allow for a custom fit across the instep. Excellent price point if they work for you!

These were tough to wiggle on, but felt good on my feet. The open top gave it a bit of a slouchy, pirate look so I returned them, but they are a nice option if you have wider ankles or prefer something loose at the top. Comfy and true to size.

They have really soft and nice leather but I just didn't like the floppy big top on them, even with the straps at the tightest notches. They fit real nice and were comfortable but I returned them because of the loose top.

I really wish these boots ran small like the other reviewer said, but sadly, they did not.

These boots are extremely well made and I would have kept them but I trouble putting them on. When I did get them on, they were much too small and narrow. Disappointed

These boots look nice in the picture, but require some "editing" upon arrival. They are really loose around the calf, and even after additional holes are punched the tongue still folds forward. They work best with jeans to fill in the extra space. I added insoles for comfort which is necessary. They look adorable, but honestly I would recommend saving your money for the next shoe you fall in love with.

I really love these boots. The leather is soft, the style is fashionably sloppy and undone. There's no zippers to ruin the look...they just slip on and off. They're lightweight, so you can wear them all day without your feet getting tired. Unfortunately - and you knew there was an "unfortunately" coming - like all Steve Madden boots, there is absolutely no insole padding or cushion. Basically your foot is resting on the hard, unforgiving insole hour after hour. By 2pm my dogs were barkin'. Luckily, SM boots run a bit large...I ordered a 10 and could probably get by with a 9-1/2. So by adding a pair of cushy insoles, I'm killing 2 birds with one comfortable stone: I get the cushioning I need and the boot fits perfectly. Love these boots - did I say that already? - and would love it if they came in charcoal or something.

I was hoping to be able to tighten the top buckle enough so the boot fit better but it only went so far. The boots looked sloppy - sloppy is ok when you are younger but beyond 50 is different. I felt like I just looked like I was winging it. The boots also looked more like pleather. Too much money to keep something I had so many issues with

Item did not match the product description. The sole was supposed to warn looking and it came in all black. Which would have been okay, but the boot didn't fit anyways. So not worth keeping

I thought these would be taller so I was disappointed. I think they run small as well.

The shoe bed is comfortable, but unfortunately the design execution of the straps do not work. Interesting idea - but Needs more work to function properly.

I bought these Banddit boots to replace the well-worn Madden Girl Razscal boots I have. I wear a 7.5 in the Razscals so I bought a 7.5 in the Banddits. The Banddits were more narrow than the Razscals, and I could have gone a half-size to full-size larger (even with thin socks). The only reason I am not re-purchasing a larger size is because the inside of the boot is not lined at all. It is fully leather inside, and not the smooth type of leather, but a rough textured leather (almost suede-like in texture). Attempting to put these boots on with socks is nearly a futile effort due to the resistance between sock and leather. Not sure why a boot of this quality would not be lined or have smooth leather inside to promote easy and smooth foot insertion. Pretty disappointed.

Cute, but the tongue of the shoe was too floppy and the stitching came out. Unfortunate since they were so expensive.

I actually think these are a knock off. I bought these boots in brown in 2012 and wore them until 2019. I lived in Chicago at the time and was walking 2-3 miles in them almost every day through the Fall and Spring months. Through rain, on the train, everywhere. They finally gave out. I bought the black pair here from Zappos in February 2020 and the sole cracked in both pair in December 2020. I hardly wore them. Either Steve Madden changed the construction, or these are fake. I am considering buying them again from the Steve Madden site, but will not buy anything from Zappos again.

So confused by this boot... really . The style is precious... however.. the boot does not really cinch up... the buckles do adjust but are merely for style....because there is so much room .. i could fit another leg in the opening of the boot.. the toe box is snug and the heel is snug.. but the top of the boot is floppy... I really love the style but have to send these back....
