Perfect for winter wear and breathes extremely well

I wear this first for any cold weather. It is thin but also warm and looks good. I do not pick a what for looks, but this one gets favorable comments. I had a one like this for several years and lost it recently. I was not happy with other hats.

Best beenie I have ever owned. Goes from cool weather to below zero easily. Packs small, works big. I have one I wear everyday as needed, one in my emergency go bag in the car, one in my instructor bag in case my main Beenie goes missing. One of the best pieces of gear I have

This is my go-to for long winter walks. It keeps me comfortably warm even into single digits but breathes so well that I never have to take it off because I'm sweating. It's not the most attractive on my big head, but no other hat performs as well.

Great beanie for cold weather conditions.

I got this as a 3 season beanie for hiking/ backpacking and thus far it has not disappointed me. I thought it would be too light weight when I first put it on but I quickly realized dynamite comes in small packages. Even though it is light, the merino wool provides perfect warmth and comfort (it is so darn soft!). I don't think it will be adequate in the winter but definitely my new favorite 3 season beanie. I wear medium helmets and this fits over my bun or ponytail a little snug if that helps give you an idea on size.

Super warm, comfortable, and stylish. A perfect beanie for the casual wearer. However, it seems a little then for super cold temperatures, so it will be interesting to see how it works in the true cold next winter.

This beanie was exactly what hubby wanted. Fits perfect and nice and soft. He wanted something that wasn't as heavy and this was just right.

This hat is very lightweight yet also very warm. It is also very soft and not itchy at all on the forehead unlike other wool hats I've tried. The best and most comfortable winter hat I've ever owned.

It works great under my other hat/hood when plowing!

I received my beanie a few weeks back and already am using it almost daily. Living in the Mid-Atlantic the temperatures fluctuate day to day but the beanie keeps my head at a comfortable temperature. I have always hated beanies because of the acrylic that most beanies contain. They itch and leave a burning irritation on my forehead from friction. This 100% Merino beanie is so soft and doesn't irritate my skin and can be worn for hours. Thank you Smartwool!

This is my 2nd smartwool beanie, had my other one7 years, lost it last week, had to get another one. They seem to never ware out, super warm also.

So soft and warm when you need it and not to warm when you don't. I was wearing it inside and out. While I was inside I was not overheating. It is also a great sleeping hat when camping!

I have always wanted to wear beanies but they never stuck with me as I would always get to hot/sweaty. With this merino wool beanie my head is warm like it should be, but it still breathes so I never get uncomfortable. Best hat I've ever had

It's almost inevitable that I will loose my beanie every winter. It happens almost every winter. And each time when faced with purchasing another beanie I can't go back to wearing anything else and end up decking out the cash for yet another smart wool beanie. I have probably spent over 100 dollars already on buying this beanie over and over. But it is definitely worth every penny.

My husband doesn't like it when I buy clothing for him, but I bought this beanie for him last fall and he wore it throughout the winter, into the spring, and all summer long (like when we were boating or hiking, to keep the hair out of his face). He admitted to loving it, along with the fact that I bought it for him. It is still in wonderful condition, but I bought another so that he doesn't need to go without while his is being washed. Now he has a black as well as a green.

Bought for a backpack trip on the Pacific Crest Trail section in Washington state. All I can say is don't leave home without this hat. Wore it day and night for warmth. Got wet, however My head stayed dry and warm!!!

I am an aspiring minimalist. I am done being overwhelmed with mountains of clothing and accessories that wear out quickly and go out of style. I am currently building a quality capsule wardrobe with many staple items that are smartwool . I chose smartwool products as many staple items because of the excellent quality. This will be my ONLY winter hat and will be a major staple to my capsule wardrobe as I live in Minnesota. I was looking for a hat that I could wear on chilly fall canoe trips into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area as well as out on the town to the movies or local pubs and to my job which begins at 5am each morning , shoveling my way through the snow in the winter months . I really like this hat. It is thin enough to fit under my bicycle helmet and is long enough to cover my ears. It is warm despite being so thin. I will probably wear this hat every day fall, winter, and spring days between 25-55 deg F.

I had a hat like this one and lost it. I was devastated. I had to get a new one because I just don't want to walk around without this hat! It's small and fits comfortably in my pocket but also very warm. So I can head outside for a long walk and know I'll be comfortable the whole time.
