I gave this 5 stars for being a simple but attractive, and incredibly supportive “house shoe”, exactly what the description said it would be. Sadly I am sending them back bc I decided they just weren’t what I was looking for. As several reviews have stated, they are exceptionally well built and sturdy (similar to the Birkenstock concept), with an almost too exceptional arch support (hit my foot in a not-so-comfortable way). I liked the simple and not-so- frumpy design that comes with most slippers, wore them around for a few days, and decided I’d rather a softer footbed to come home to at the end of a long day on my feet. I have the Ugg Ansley, and love the comfort, but dislike the frumpiness. Still searching for the perfect house shoe.

I purchased these wonderful slippers because I spend a good portion of the day in my kitchen baking and cooking. I have a very hard floor surface and was debating whether I should get a gel mat. After reading the glorious reviews I decided to purchase the slippers instead. My feet and back are SO happy. Excellent arch support, wonderful cushioning, true to size. I may never take them off my feet!

Giessein makes exceptional slippers, however their sizing is beyond off. Shopping for a supportive slipper for my mom who is a women's 10 D (so, wide foot). Based on reviews, I knew to order these a full size up, so got the 42 (men's 9; women's 11), and she felt it was still a hair short (her heel couldn't quiet clear the back edge) and definitely too tight over her forefoot. Might be fair that a standard width is too tight for a wide foot, but for these to be sized over a full size too small in length seems unreasonable. The cork footbed was the best support of all the other slippers we tried, and we wished it was an option in the others. She went with the Giesswein Flora in a size 41 which fit her perfectly.

I bought these for my husband. He has plantar fasciitis and cannot go 'barefoot' around the house and he must have good support in anything he wears on his feet. These slippers are very well made, have excellent arch support, and are extremely comfortable. They are worth the money.

I literally read all the reviews twice to figure out what size I'd be in these slippers. I ordered a size 7 and they fit perfectly. For reference, I wear a 7.5 in most casual shoes, 8 or 8.5 in running shoes and boots. They're comfortable, but I wouldn't say 'amazing' like others have said. There's a little too much arch support for me, but I needed more than nothing. I like the style and would wear these with skinny jeans out if these weren't house slippers.

Love, love, love these shoes/slippers....since I consider them both slippers but also shoes you can wear ourside. I have plantar fasciitis and really needed a slipper that would give me great support. This shoe is wonderful!

The removable innersole is made of suede, and it is extremely difficult to get one's foot into the slipper.

Much too small. I ordered a size 13, which is my normal size, and I couldn't even fit my feet all the way in.

I can't say enough good things about this slipper. I have tried and tried to find a supportive slipper due to severe plantar fasciitis in my left foot. Theses arrived yesterday. I took off my LL Bean slipper/clogs and put these on. The relief was literally immediate. I no longer dread walking on my hard wood floors, cooking dinner, etc. They are pricey but worth every penny! I am size 10 and purchased a 42 based on prior reviews. They fit perfectly. Highly recommend!

I have mixed feelings about these slippers, but only because the top of the slippers doesn't cover as much of your foot as other slip ons I've had--in other words, the opening at the top is more oval shaped so the slippers hit the top of your foot further from the ankle. This makes the slipper feel like it's got less of a purchase on your foot. For me, it's also an issue because I have bone spurs, and the top opening stretches across them, which is slightly uncomfortable. On the other hand, the arch support is transcendent and feels amazing and the slippers are really well made.

I got these for my boyfriend. He thought it was ridiculous that I would pay over $100 for a slipper. He initially rejected them out of principle. But then he eventually came around, and now he wears them every day 8 months out of the year. He has metal plates in one foot, and so he is really picky when it comes to comfort. And they are worth every penny -- They are as good as new three years later. And they do not smell, which I consider a miracle of sorts.

These are one of the best pairs of slippers that I have found for my problem feet. I have flat feet, hammertoe and Plantar Fasciitis. These slippers are very comfortable in spite of my problem feet.

Great, supportive, warm slippers, but definitely size UP! I wear a size 8 US and normally 38 Euro, but the 39 in these slippers fits me precisely right. Even the slightest bit smaller my heel would be hanging off the back. I'm so glad I listened to other's advice and got the larger size because I love these slippers!

The other reviews were very helpful, which resulted in me ordering a size 42, which fits perfectly! I normally wear a size 10 (women's) or a size 41 in Mephistos and Danskos. The arch support is exactly what I needed for my foot problems.

Nice slipper. The problem is the arch support is too far forward in the shoe to actually support my arch. Back they go!

These are the shoes I wear the moment I get home, and I came back for more the moment my old pair were worn out. I like that I can go outside to pick up the mail in these, and yet they are ultra comfy. They have enough toe room that I can wiggle my toes regardless of what kind of socks I'm wearing. In the summer they're not too hot, and in the winter my feet never freeze. Between the arch support and the soles I can go about on my hardwood floors without aching all the time. I doubt there's a better pair of slippers out there. BTW, I usually have problems with slippers staying on, but that little bit of heel makes all the difference, without rubbing.

I was reluctant to spend so much on slippers, but I don't wear shoes in the house and I can't go barefoot anymore. I desperately needed a good pair of house shoes to give me support and comfort for my plantar fasciitis, high arches, and bunions (I'm in my 30s, but my feet feel much older). These definitely fit the bill--the arch support is fantastic, and my bunions and toes don't feel squished. I've been wearing them non-stop for two days now, and my feet feel great. I do have custom orthodics, but I am thrilled that I won't have to switch them back and forth between my street shoes and slippers--the insole of these slippers is perfect (you can also buy replacement insoles if they wear out!). I wear a US 7.5, so I ordered both the 38 and 39 to try on. The 38 fits like a glove, although a bit snug with socks on (I read in other reviews that they stretch a tad over time, so I'm hoping by the time it gets really cold here I will be able to wear socks with them). The 39 gave me a bit more breathing room, but the arch support did not hit me in the right spot.

The Geisswein Veitsch is a high quality slipper. Since the upper is made of wool , this slipper is most suitable for cold climate temperatures. I wear mine to quickly warm up cold feet. Or, if it is cold inside the house I wear the slippers to attain, and maintain, foot warmth. The fit width and depth of this slipper is geared towards the average female foot, or narrow width-shallow instep height male foot. The length fit of this slipper is typical with most USA brand sizing. Birksenstock sandal and clog wearers may like this slipper, because (similar to Birkenstock) the Giesswein Veitsch offers pronounced arch support. For width sizing, the Veitsch is most comparable to a Birkenstock narrow width. For length sizing, a 44 Birksenstock is about the same length as a Geisswein Veitsch size 45.

These slippers are very comfortable. The arch support is moderate and toe-box is roomy. Because of the wide toe box it may run a little big so ordering one size down may be the way to go. I did that (36 vs 37) and found that the fit was good. One word of caution for those who wear socks with their slippers. In that case you may want to order your normal size.

Very disappointing for the price. Upper mat'l lacks support so foot "wobbles". while walking. Uppers also shed=not good! Zero support. Due to design, heel lifts up while walking. Overall very heavy slipper.

I live in a historic stone bunkhouse with quarry tile floors and at the end of a long day working the ranch my feet are already sore, and then dang that floor is hard with regular Ugh slippers (formerly my favorite). I splurged for these because I'm 62 and life's too short for sore feet at the end of the day. These are terrific slippers. They fit snug out of the box--and I have narrow (B) feet. Initially the soles and arch felt stiff, but after two days' use they're a perfect fit barefoot, and snug with boot socks. They do have more sole and heel thickness than a flat slipper, so I have to pay attention and not "fall off" the heel, but that's my problem. My only regret is that I didn't buy these years ago.
