Wow, these slippers were expensive, but worth it! Remove the supportive insoles, and you can machine wash. I didn't need as much arch support as these offered most of the time, purchased a pair of sheepskin insoles for winter - just wonderful. Will likely switch to less warm insoles in summer. Clearly well made, expect these last for many years.

For reference, I have “average” US women’s 7.5M feet and always a size 38 in Birkenstocks. Can occasionally wear a 7 in ballet flats. Based on reviews, ordered size 39 in grey. Although not uncomfortable, when foot pushed to front of shoe, there was a good nearly 1/2 in. gap in the back. Worried that these would stretch out and become too big, I ordered size 38 in blue. They are perfection! Such a far cry from the sloppy, generic, cheaply made, unsupportive slippers I’m used to receiving during the holidays. Although I was worried they may be a little snug at first, the 38s literally melted into my foot within a few hours of wear and I couldn’t be happier. They are perfection, with or without socks. I could see how these may seem to run small for folks that prefer a roomier slipper or wear really thick socks. To my way of thinking though, these are a consistent size 38. I really love the fact that they are also washable and you can purchase a replacement insole. A warm, comfortable, supportive, non-disposable house shoe? Yes, please—I’m a fan!!

I had to go to a size 47 which I have never worn before ( 46 was too tight) . The issue was they felt like my feet were sliding out of them all the time. I went back to my Haflingers which I had before.

I was so excited to have a wool felted slipper like this, and looked forward to the quality. The size was correct, but couldn't wear with socks. And when walking around the house, the slippers just didn't stay on appropriately. The arch also didn't seem to land where I would expect. You could argue my experience was sizing, but I normally wear an 8.5 and ordered a 9, and though they fit my length right, they just didn't stay securely on my feet. I returned these. I will note they have reinforced the toe, so those who reported getting holes in the toe area will find that it will no longer happen. The reinforcement is quite thorough.

Best slip-ons ever! Breathable wool so feet stay warm but not too hot. Not clunky like some clogs are. LOVE THESE!

I wore UGGs for years. The quality started going down so I started looking for something else. I have all hard floors throughout my entire house. These slippers were absolutely, perfectly, comfortable and cozy from the moment I put them on. Giesswein is my new go to!! Love, love, love!

I was hoping to get a slipper to replace the Halfingers I usually buy since they seem to get holes in them after only one season. Unfortunately, this Giesswein had too much arch for me. My arches are neutral (normal) and these are clearly made for people with high arches.

These slippers are awesome. I've had them for about a year. I love the great arch support. They do take a few weeks to break in, when I first got them my socks would get sort of bunched under my foot when I put them on, after a couple of weeks that stopped happening. I bought a pair for my husband too and at first he resisted wearing them, saying he didn't need them, they weren't comfortable, but the cold floors of winter wore him down and got him over the initial breaking in hurdle. Now he loves them and seeks them out to put on when he comes home from work. We'll buy two more pairs when these wear out.

Sorry to say I don’t believe these slippers are worth the price. I ordered up a size as recommended by some reviewers, however, they were too large but I also believe they ran narrow. They were heavy and not cozy for slippers. When I opened the box, the paper meant to cover the slippers was torn, wrinkled not over the shoes. More and more of the shoes I receive from Zappos are messy. I was going to give these slippers as a gift, but there is no way I would give a gift that looked used - not pristine and new. They also had hair on them. Surely I’m not the only one getting so many used shoes that aren’t even checked before shipping to make sure they are packed nicely. Of course, these slippers were returned.

I will add to chorus and say that these shoes are awesome. So worth it. I bought them a year ago, wear them a lot, and they've held up great. They have a firm footbed, as others have mentioned, feel great on my arches and are comfortable all day. I normally wear a 10.5, bought the 11's in these (42 EU), and they're perfect. The heathered patterns hide dirt and wear. Couldn't be happier!

I sized up as some of the reviews stated they ran small, this is not true as the pair I received were 1/2 size too large but I have an high arch and instep so the extra length won’t be an issue. The right arch fit perfectly, the left didn’t but within a day it molded to my foot and now they are perfect.

I purchased these shoes to wear as slippers in the house. I have high arches, high instep, and plantar fasciitis, which has become excruciating over the past couple of months. Last time I went through this it lasted 2.5 years, despite orthotics and cortisone injections in my foot. This time, it's both feet. I read several reviews on here that these shoes relieve plantar fasciitis pain. I can absolutely confirm this is true. I wear these shoes constantly when in the house, and switch to street shoes when out of the house. I have had virtually no pain! The arch support is excellent, and there is no issue with the uppers cutting into my instep. They do run small. I normally wear a size 9 in women, sometimes 9 1/2. I ordered size 42 in these, which is a little big, but fine when wearing regular (not thick) socks. I have not had a "breaking in" period; they were comfortable from the first day.

The fit was great. Very soft and cushy. Well made. However, the arch support was just a bit too much for me. If you're looking for a comfy slipper with super arch support, this slipper is for you. If arch support is too high, I get tendinitis of the foot.

Very comfortable and fit perfect right out of the box. I took advice from other reviewers and ordered one size up, which was a good call. My usual size would absolutely be too small. The color is a much darker gray than pictured, but not bad. I like it, just don’t expect anything remotely silvery. It’s dark gray. These slippers feel quite sturdy but still soft and comfortable. I think I could get away with wearing them out to a casual get together or restaurant, as they do not look like fuzzy house slippers. The arch support is firm and excellent, works well for my plantar fasciitis. Whether it’s to keep my feet warm at home or on a run to the grocery store, these slippers are great.

Beautiful material in uppers. Ordered my regular 39 that I always wear in Birkenstock’s. My toes went all the way to the tip, so I ordered 40. Okay size. (I wear 8 or 8-1/2 women’s). They were not flexible! Watch the video. The guy looks like he’s walking on wooden clogs! They are only flexible when you remove the innersole. So, what’s the point?

This shoe has good arch support which is why I ordered it. I have plantar fasciitis and need a supportive slipper. I read other reviews and decided to order a size larger and they fit perfectly.

I returned the first pair that I had ordered a size up, it was too loose.(size 10). the 9.5 was just right. very comfortable, full toe box and good arch support as described. They did soften after some wear, but easily remains on my feet without slipping . for me, definitely worth the price, since I have worn them most of the day when I am home. not to warm for southern california.

These are excellent cold weather wool slippers mainly for wearing indoors. They are well made and toasty. The main problem - and this is a serious one -- is that the sizing is way off. I bought a 43 men's, the largest size available, and it was supposed to be a US 10. In reality, it has to have been a US 8.5, closer to a EU 41.5 than an EU 43. So they are a size and a half smaller than marked. I am not sure how or why this happened. If you know this in advance and adjust your order accordingly, you can get a size that works for you.

I wear orthotics and need a shoe with good support and/or that will allow me to use my own orthotics. I tried these Giesswein, which appear known for their support. Nice looking slipper. But the arch supports that it comes with are really hard and very uncomfortable to wear. I could remove them and use my own, but the slipper is wide and mine slide. I had to return them. Too bad.

Perfect fit and exactly what I have been searching for the last 2 winters. Every time I put them on me and my feet are happy! I am replacing the closed Giessweins, but I think these are cuter and less loose. You won’t have to worry about them slipping off your fit. They are snug, but not tight. Love them!!!

My poor feet love the support from these slippers. Excellent arch support. I wear slipper most of the time when I'm home so I wanted good arch support. took a few days to get use to them as another reviewer said think Berkinstock. Pricey but my feet thank me

My husband needed a house shoe with support. After browsing Zappos and reading reviews, I found out about this brand. We did order a full size up, as all the reviews said that they were small. My feet are only half a size smaller than my husband's, and these slippers felt GREAT. They had excellent arch support. However, they are not for people with high arches, like my husband. He could not even get his foot into the slipper to try them out! I got out my ruler, because the top of the slipper is so low. There is only 1.75 inches of clearance for sliding one's foot in. For what it's worth, I chose the less-expensive and only slightly-less-supportive Haflingers, and I love them.

Love the house slippers. Did exchange for a full size larger. Quick return and received the larger size fast. Love the arch support these have. So comfortable!

I have a narrow foot. I ordered a 39, which is what I wear in Birkenstocks and Danskos (usually a narrow). The length was perfect. I returned them because I had to work to keep them on my feet. I went with the Geissein Vent, and the full shoe keeps my foot contained.
