Comfortable right away, no break in time needed. They give great arch support which is what I need for my plantar fasciitis. The bottom is very flexible and I think that adds comfort , but I occasionally catch my toe on things because of that flexibility of the sole risking a trip or fall. Great sandal for comfort, straps are adjustable and I had no irritation or rubbing from them, was able to adjust them for my foot.

I like these sandals, however, they don't have as much arch support as their flip-flop style sandals do. If you need a good arch support, these may not work for you.

I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes are the best I've found for walking with little or no pain. My only complaint is the footbed--it has grooves that collect dirt and sand, and also little bumps that irritate the bottom of my foot. Otherwise they are great.

The overall shoe looks fine for a sport sandal, insole feels pretty good -- except for the strange cut-out pattern on the outer sole, which makes the footbed feel quite noticeably uneven & uncomfortable. Both inner & outer soles need to be about twice the thickness, & any pattern on the bottom needs to be much more subtle!

Very uncomfortable for me. Looked like it would work for my very high arch but the arch support was too high for me. Nice heel cup and probably worth a try as others have said it is a comfortable shoe.

This shoe has great arch support. It runs about 1/2 size large. The straps are very comfortable, but the foot bed could be a bit cushier. Overall, they are comfortable.

I love the fit of these shoes. Unfortunately, they rub my outside right ankle bone.

I wanted to love the shoe because it felt so comfortable. However, I guess I have a slender foot and the medium width just didn't work for me. (Medium works for me otherwise) Tightening the straps made them come down too far and touch the ground. Unfortunately, this sandal is not offered in any other width.

I love the Vionic footbed for the great arch support so I really wanted these to work but the footbed feels like plastic, kind of hard and makes my feet feel hot. I wish Vionic would merge with SAS because that would be perfection - great arch support and a soft fabric cushioned footbed.

I have problem feet - 2 surgeries and bad shoes have taken their toll. I have had high hopes for Vionic, but they continue to disappoint. Mostly their quality is not very good and the footbeds are irregular. This shoe does not have as much padding as I need, and the strap rubbed my feet. If they would team up with a company like Clarks, which has been making shoes for decades and use good quality components, I'd be more likely to try them again. Bummer.

I wear 7.5 and I ordered these in a 7. The fit was fine, but they are a bit too clunky for my taste. Also, the strap across the to is too long. If I need to tighten it down the road, it will be hanging off the shoe.

Loved this sandal, unfortunately the Velcro strap across the top of the foot was too small (not enough Velcro on the bottom) so need to return.

Loved these sandals from day one because of the support and comfort they provide. But after only six weeks the leather look finish is wearing off. When I pay this much, I expect them to last at least a couple summers. I am very disappointed and for that reason, rating these 3 stars.

These shoes felt great, but the velcro strap across my ankle would not stay attached, especially when I had to reach up for something and lift my ankles. I wish these would have worked, but I have to return them since they won't stay on my feet.

Pretty comfortable shoes, after getting used to the giant arch support. My issue with them was the texture of the foot bed. I have ridiculously sensitive feet and the texture was too much for me, but I liked the look and feel. I usually wear a 6 but the 5.5 fit really well.

I had high hopes for this sandal. Vionic has the good arch support I need and I own their slippers and flipflops. I ordered a size 10M and usually wear 10W. I would guess these shoes are a full size too big or are sized for male/female wear. The strap across the toes sits too far forward on my foot and I have it pulled as tight as possible. When the strap loosens up, I'm afraid the width will be too loose. The arch also sits not quite in the right place for my foot. The result is about an extra 1 1/2 of extra shoe passed my toes, which causes me to trip. That said - these are a cute pair of summer "active" wear sandals. I wish I had not worn them so quickly, because I would have exchanged them for a smaller size.

The straps are very uncomfortable. The straps hung on the floor after I adjusted them to my narrow feet. The arch support is great but I am having trouble finding a style that is comfortable.

Not only are they not true to size (too big), but the back strap on the left shoe is much looser than that on the right. Heel strap is not adjustable.

This could be the best footbed ever in a sandal, so it pains me to send them back! As a couple of other reviews mentioned, the top strap is quite long and when I adjust it to fit my foot, it hits the ground. If it stretches even a little, it will become unwearable. I can't really cut the strap or it would cut out all of the velcro. This shoe seems to run large. I would normally be a 7 and 1/2 or even an 8 and the 7 is great in the length and width.

Made for a wider foot. My foot is somewhat narrow, but usually medium width shoes will fit fine. However, pulling the strap tight enough on this sandal leaves excess strap dragging on the floor.

Disappointed with this shoe. I have very narrow, bony feet with very little padding on them, and was excited to find a sandal with both a supportive arch and an adjustable forefoot, so it would not be too wide. I have tried Vionic before and been pleased so thought I had found a winner. However, something is off with this particular shoe. The base of the adjustable is neoprene, which in past shoes of other brands I have found to be exceedingly comfortable. Sadly, it does not work well in this shoe - if I tighten the strap up slightly so my foot does not flop back and forth in the front of the shoe, I get bruises on the top of my feet, across the tendons just below the base of my toes. I have not tightened them down tight; just slightly tighter than when they arrived. Somehow the webbing strap being sewn to the neoprene strap makes hard lumps which do not flex, and dig into the top of the foot with each step. So disappointed! By the time I figured out what was wrong and that they would not break in, I had already worn them, so they were not suitable to be returned. I also agree with the other reviewers that the fit is odd on this shoe; the ankle strap does seem very short, and though it is long enough for me and my bony ankles, I see that it would not work for anyone with a normally-shaped foot. Normally Vionic does so well getting the shape right but this one is a miss. If your feet are sensitive, you may have issues as I did.

I had to buy these for a foot problem. Really like the looks and feel of them. There is one big problem the insole is rubber & your feet slide around on hot days. I don't know about other people but my feet sweat. I was told this fall to wear socks with them! So I will try that when the weather cools down. The sole does seem a little thin to me, also.

I was looking for something rugged like a Chaco or Teva for water/hike/camping. These are called "sports recovery". This is probably because they are not tough enough for the sport itself. While comfy if you like that "outdoorsy" style. These would be fine for knocking around or local shopping. Unless you are very light weight I wouldn't trust these for walking across Europe! I also bought the Mojave, which I will review. It is also being returned. This brand has amazing arch support! I love the little thong sandal with a "real" heel that looks like a "real" dainty sandal! My feet like the harder sole variety better than the squashy "Tide" style. I love Zappos for all the fabulous service! Thanks!

I like the sandal very much. However, by afternoon when my feet swell in the summer heat, the strap detaches and the shoe comes loose. I think the velcro could have been a longer strip.

I wore these shoes all summer. I wear them because they were comfortable for short walks, easy to wear and looked nice for a very casual comfortable type of sandal. Unfortunately they smell bad on my feet which is an embarrassment. That has never happened before. The design on the foot bed hurts the bottom of my feet after any real long walking, and lastly the sole came away from the she and has to be fixed. I would expect such expensive shoes to be more comfortable and durable. Orthaheel, you can do better then that.
