This is a great boot. The heel height is perfect -- it gives a bit of a lift but you can easily wear them all day. The shaft is somewhat narrower than most but I can easily wear mine over jeans.

These are the first pair of Fryes that I have owned and I am completely in love with them! I was a tad leery due to the cost and the fact they look like cowboy boots (cute yes, but I thought they would be uncomfortable). Well, these are the most comfortable boots that I have ever worn! They are as good as my Birkenstocks! And they are so cute with a skirt, leggings or tucked into jeans! I ordered my regular size and they are perfect!

These are very elegant boots. And definitely for us skinny legged girls. My legs are pretty skinny, and these boots are still a little loose barelegged, but they still look fabulous. They really make your legs look longer. Super comfortable. A little big, definitely have to wear socks, but not big enough to go down a size. I got the black. Cognac next?!

I bought myself a Xmas gift, which arrived today, Xmas Eve--thank you, Zappos VIP free one-day shipping!--and these Fryes are gorgeous: a hint of cowgirl style in them, with none of the honky-tonk of the embroidery stitching of most cowgirl boots. I got the pressed nubuck in black which adds some texture to the leather without making them as nappy as suede, nor as shiny as smooth leather. I suspect that these will become my favorites, and I'll tuck skinny jeans into them, or pull boot cut jeans over them. I bet they'll look good with full skirts, too, as other reviewers had written. These boots were not cheap, but like my other Fryes I know they are so well made, and so classic, that they'll last forever even when fashions change. I also bought a pair of Levi Curve ID Slight Curve Slim Fit jeans to wear with the boots, a good match in the Clean Rinse color.

I stalked this site all week until my size and color became available (8 in cognac soft vintage). Well, they arrived this morning, and I am in love with these boots! I pulled them out of the box and put them on my bare feet. Perfect fit! Wish I could afford every color! Thanks, Zappos.com, for taking the annoyance out of shoe shopping!

I love these boots so much that I am crash dieting so they will fit my calves! The leather is great quality inside and out. The calves are narrow and tall. I am 5'2" a size 10 normally I can zip up tall boots but these fit but were scrunching because while I have big calves I do not have cankles! Gorgeous boot regret having to return. These are a very tight calf fit so if you are hit or miss on tall boots fitting you will more than likely miss on these. If you have long legs these would hit at your narrowest part but I am short and these hit at my widest part.

I absolutely love these boots! I wore them all through Thanksgiving weekend, and they were comfortable walking for hours through our historic town. They looked amazing with a casual above-the-knee dress and equally amazing with skinny jeans. Tons of compliments - and men seemed to find them quite alluring - must be a cowgirl fantasy or something!

I received these boots yesterday and fell in love with them instantly! They are the perfect, color, shaft height, heel height, etc. I bought the chocolate brown leather. I have them on right now with skinny jeans and they are gorgeous. One small problem. One boot has a much wider shaft circumference than the other. I kept looking down, hoping it was my mind playing tricks on me but it's not. I called Zappos and they are refunding my money immediately. The sad part is, they don't have any left in my size. I am beyond bummed but I cannot keep these boots that aren't perfect. Plus it looks kind of weird. Anyway, I will continue to shop with Zappos for their excellent customer service.

These are the perfect fall boot. With Zappos free shipping they are absolutely worth the price. The cognac color is beautiful and goes perfect with everything tights, dark jeans, white cords, etc. Ive been on my feet wearing these for over ten hours at a time and they were still comfortable! Highly recommended!

LOVE THESE BOOTS! They are really comfortable and I love the extra height I get without feeling like its a high heel. I've received several compliments.

Always wanted a tall pair of boots but its tough with big calves (16" at the widest part & 15 1/2" where the top of these boots hit) so I've purchased/returned quite a few different pairs (thanks Zappos for the awesome return policy). I had actually packed these up for return because they were too tight. However, I read another review that said they stretched quite a bit. I loved the style so I decided to try again & I'm glad I did. After a couple of days wearing them around the house - with jeans tucked in - they stretched enough to wear comfortably. I always wear a size 10 and these seem just a little bit big in the foot bed but okay with thick socks.

After reading the reviews I thought it would be tight around my calves, but it fit exactly as in the video. They were easy to put on and looser than the Melissa Buttons that I tried. Too bad that wasn't the look I wanted. I didn't want the loose bulgy ankle. Nice leather and color though.

I am never really sure how a Frye will work out until it is on my foot, and I'll tell you, this one was a short battle to get me to that point. I'm glad I had some time to work my typically larger calf into it, because once I could get them on, I didn't want to take them off! I got the chocolate soft vintage, which goes with nearly everything I own if I tweak the outfit just right. It's a perfect addition to my growing family of Frye boots. This is my 3rd pair, worth every penny, and my fondness only grows deeper over time!

I originally purchased the size 6 Frye Jackie Button's in the Chocolate Soft Vintage Leather. I love these boots but they are a tad big around my feet. My foot lifts up from the heel when I walk. So, I called Zappos and they are sending me a size 5.5 overnight to try then I can return the pair that doesn't work. Now that is customer service!

I am a huge Frye fan and have to echo the previous comments - Once you go Frye, you'll never want anything else. Once you get over the price, it's such an amazing investment. My first pair of Frye's was the Frye Jane - which are excellent. I've worn them in snow, through puddles - just slap some shoe polish on them, and they're good to go! I've had them 4 years and they still look amazing and I get so many compliments. I knew once I saw the Frye Jackie in the store, I had to have them. These are great for skinny-legged girls, which I love (I'm petite). My Frye Jane's have extra calf room and are still adorable, but I wanted a sleeker boot. They're a couple inches lower than my knee and the vintage black leather is beautiful in person. It's such an elegant boot that can be worn dressed up or casual. When you buy Fryes - you're paying for quality. Period. My next goal is to get these in the Cognac color. Get over the price - stop making excuses! Do it and you won't ever regret it.

These boots look beautiful. The leather is amazing (made in Mexico) and the style is the perfect blend of riding boot and cowboy boot. I did find them to be slightly narrow, however. My strategy has been wearing them for a few hours at a time to get the leather to stretch a bit (you can also go to a shoe repair place and they will stretch the boots for you). The heel is a nice height and very comfortable to stand in. The cognac color is fantastic and goes with just about everything. Totally worth the investment.

Absolutely beautiful leather boot. Also has a perfectly feminine heel! I have the Melissa boot and these run a little bit bigger because of the slant of the heel, but I still stayed with my normal size. Could've maybe gone down a size but I am happy with the boots!

Absolutely gorgeous boot, weathered but sophisticated, comfortable right out of the box, high quality. Looks great with skinny jeans, skirts, leggings. This boot will be my staple for the fall/winter season!

These boots rock! I was looking for a tall boot that fits my thin legs. These are perfect! I am 5'10" tall, 145 lbs and wear a 9.5 shoe. These boots come up to within 1.25 inches of my knee and the shaft leaves plenty of room to tuck in skinny jeans or leggins into them. They are not baggy at all. I can fit my straight leg and boot cut jeans over them just fine too. The heel is a perfect height as well - very comfy! I have not had very good luck with Frye boots in the past, and was a bit leery about ordering such an expensive boot; but I am not disappointed at all. I did order my normal shoe size (9.5) and they fit fine. Boot socks or tights will work great. Thank you Zappos for allowing us all to shop, buy and return (if necessary) at our leisure.

I ordered five different pairs of these before finally settling on my true size, 10, in chocolate brown. The 10s were a bit roomy so I ordered the 9.5's just to try them out. They were more snug, but not too snug in the foot; however, I have wider calves and needed the little extra calf room in the 10s, so I ended up keeping the 10s. The shaft wasn't bunching/bagging enough on the 9.5s so they looked skintight and were giving me a sausage look/leg muffin-top. So, if you've got wider calves, order your true size, and know that they will stretch in the calves and will get easier to pull on and off. If you have narrow calves, you can size down 1/2 size, for sure. The heel is the perfect height - totally walkable but also enough height to elongate the legs and give you a more polished look. I tried buying flat riding boots from Frye previously but I find that they end up looking like rain boots on me, or making my legs look stumpy. The chocolate brown is a gorgeous, rich dark color that can be worn with any color clothing, even black. Highly recommend.

I love these boots...by far my favorite pair ever. The black soft vintage leather is great for skirts and over skinny jeans. I have skinny calves and these don't bulge at the top at all.

Really wanted to love these. The color of the leather is gorgeous. Unfortunately, the calves were just too big for me and they didn't have the sleek look I was going for.

Fit was good. My big problem is these boots have been previously worn. Not only was the shaft of the boot broken down, but scuff marks were visible on the shaft and sock of the boot, as well as, the sole. Extremely disappointed. Someone in the warehouse needs to do a better job of checking return merchandise to prevent these types of instances. Otherwise, boots were true to size in width and length. Leather, beautiful. I am just very disappointed as these were on sale and no longer are available in my size.
