Great shoe, I am new to the Salomon brand, but I will purchase my next pair of shoes from them. Extremely comfortable and light and great traction. Love these shoes.

These shoes are great. I tend to be in between a 10½ to 11 and mostly buy an 11. I bought these in an 11 and they fit perfectly and they run narrow too. I have read a lot of people complaining about the laces not holding up but my last pair of Solomons had the same laces and are still holding up after a year of total abuse.

I bought these shoes to run obstacle courses (Spartan Races, Tough Mudder, etc.). Yesterday was the first "game time" use: The Super Spartan race. They expanded the planned 8mile race to 11+miles. This was a monster: up and down muddy trails, rocky slopes, over and into lakes and streams. These shoes were absolutely awesome. They were supportive, comfortable, provided outstanding grip, vacated water and came out no worse for the wear (I wish I could say the same about me!). Excellent product. I highly recommend it.

These are pretty comfortable, they have a narrow fit to feel snug around the foot, but in a good way. The design is nice and they draw attention. I have had several positive comments on them already. I think they feel more comfortable the more you wear them. I have only worn them a few times so far, but having only worn them several times, I did notice a little more comfort today than the first time or two wearing them. I hope they continue to get more comfortable. You can tell these are well made, high quality shoes. The lacing system is interesting, I kind of like it. The bottom traction is very grippy and feels good. They are also very light and have a slightly springy feel which is a good thing for me. I am very pleased with these shoes and would highly recommend them. I will likely buy other products from Salomon.

I really enjoy this shoe for trail running. Very light weight, great cushion/support and love the gripping tread to run through rocks/mud. I also enjoy the quick-lacing system and how you can tuck the strings into the small pouch. So glad Zappos carries Salomon trail running shoes. Zappos rocks!

Awesome shoe. Not a minimal but very light and lean. Not a lot of cushion and padding. Great treads. I love trail running in them. Super light too.

Loved these shoes, they lasted me over 2 years of heavy use. Also not having traditional shoe laces was fun and something I enjoyed.

My husband loved these. He was drawn to the bright colors. The shoe initially felt true to size, but after a couple of weeks it became floppy, meaning it stretched out, where his foot is already wide. He said he would not buy these again, although he loved the overall style and colors

Bought two pairs of these shoes for two different young adults. They really like them. The size is true to size if you measure your foot and go by the chart. Excellent construction and a very light shoe.

I have a B or C width foot and these show as D width. But (thank goodness) they are narrower than D typically is, so they fit my foot great!

Salomon is a terrific trail shoe. I have worn them for over a year as trail walking/running shoes. My only issue is that the outer sole is made of a very soft rubber. Great for grip with very aggressive lugs. However they don't wear well. My lugs wore down very fast walking four miles daily on gravel trails. After a year the sole was nearly bald. Granted, a year use is average for any shoe but the lugs were losing their effectiveness long before. Would be fine on turf or dirt. The shoe is a treat for the feet. They bring absolutely no attention to themselves as you wear them. One of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. My foot is a little wide at the toe and the shoe tends to be a little narrow in the toe, usually a bad combination, but these felt fine at my usual athletic shoe size. Love these shoes and I will be getting another pair! Overall 4 stars due to short life of the lugs.

This shoes are comfortable and very well made. A modern look makes it somewhat stand out. Excellent on dirt or uneven terran. However if you are on a wet floor for tile you have absolutely no traction

These seemed to be great trail shoes, with awesome grip and support, but they didn't work for me. I returned them after wearing them on a hike. They were too narrow for me, and ran a little long. They also seemed a bit stiff. My toe area was tingling about 15 min into my hike, and knew they weren't going to work. My street running shoes are Brooks Glycerine - I wish they had an identical trail shoe.

This is my second pair of Soloman Speedcross 3s. I hike about 30 miles per week up and down hills on everything from fire roads to rocky single track pitches. The shoes are very comfortable. No break in time required. They are light weight and provide great traction until you wear down the sole. Which brings me to the only negative; the lug pattern on the sole wears down before the shoe wears out. If you log a lot of miles on rough abrasive ground you may turn them into slicks pretty quickly. Soloman needs to add more lugs to the bottom.

This is my 2nd pair of these shoes -- They are light and very comfortable. I wear them mainly for light trail hiking and have received comments from fellow hikers on how "cool" they look!

These shoes are incredible, although I don't wear them for the intended design. I have owned, and still own, multiple pairs of Salomon shoes. These are the best fit for those of us that were made for the last these are built on - even better than the XA Pros. Snug fit, stable, secure heel, very cushy and no boxy toe accommodation. Excellent overall...except...the soles are delicate. I have been wearing my pair off and on for about a month and the strike area below my forefoot is almost worn flat already. I admit that I wear these for every day use - concrete, asphalt, grass and dirt, but the sole material is inferior. If the good people at Salomon read these posts and PLEASE...take these excellent shoes and construct them with a world class, durable sole that will take urban and trail abuse. Do it and I will buy this model again...and again! Zappos is the best!

Love the shoe; the way it looks and the fit. One of the best running/hiking shoes I've ever owned! The only issue I have is the tread. I have had a pair for just over 3 months and the tread is already starting to wear down. I run and hike alot though. I will buy another pair.

Love the way they look (a little flashier than the last pair I had, which didn't have the red lacing), and the toes feel a bit narrow right now but I think they loosen up with time (hope so). I love the grippy feel and they're good for running in mud and trails, though the insole is not removable so don't plan to put in something with more arch support -- it just is what it is. I have to admit, they're great for travel, too, because you can just slip them on and off, climb walls, etc.

I wear 9.5 dress shoes, usually buy my running shoes a full size larger (10.5). I bought these at 10.5 and sadly, they run a half size too small. I should have ordered 11. Also, you will feel every rock or pebble underneath your feet, these guys are great from mud, snow, dirt...not for trails with lose rocks, it feels like you're running barefoot. I would buy them again, but 11. And can't use them here in the hill country.

I found the comfort level excellent, I didn't have to break them in at all. That being said I do a lot of hiking on all different types of trails and terrain. I found the side to side stability is not very good at the ball of the foot. Also the tread wears out really fast and I don't run on pavement. But they do keep me dry even though they're not Gore-tex. I am going to get another pair of Salomon but in a different style to see if its just this particular model not suited for me.

Bought the dark cloud (grey) color and they look very sharp. The tread is terrific and the shoes were comfortable straight out of the box. As soon as the UPS guy dropped them off I put them on and went straight to the trails which, around here, are generally rolling, not very technical crushed limestone trails. One of the things I didn't like about my last trail shoe was the slight feeling of slippage at toe-off on the hard packed dry crushed limestone surfaces. I didn't have that feeling with the Speedcross' treads. They do run a bit narrow, which is good for me, and they lace up nice and snug and the speed laces held tight throughout the run. The shoes felt a little warm but, then again, it was 90 degrees so that is to be expected. The forefoot of the shoe is very flexible and there is not a great deal of lateral stability, so if I were running more technically challenging trails I would want something either lower to the ground in the heel area (e.g., the Fellcross) or something with more of a medial side build-up for support. Overall, I am very pleased with the shoe.

I've purchased 3 pairs of these over the last year...specifically for the tough mudder and spartan beast of the east. Both of these races took place in the mountains of Vermont. They performed well uphill...very good traction...no mud caking on the soles. I could swim with them on and they seemed to shed water quick and did not seem to have that heavy feeling when wet. However, running downhill the insoles would bunch up toward the toes...very annoying. This was so annoying that I've contemplated switching back to Brooks Cascadia for these runs except the Brooks don't shed the mud like these do. I'll try to use some construction adhesive to glue the insoles in. Salomon, get this issue fixed and you will have the top shoe for these types of races...this shouldn't be happening at this price!

I always get a size 11 in New Balance so I thought I'd do the same with these. For some reason they run small and I had to exchange them for an 11.5 Otherwise they are unique and awesome shoes. Love the laces or lack of laces and they are as light as a feather!

After five pairs of these I will have to say they are one of my favorite light weight trail shoes. I use them as road to trail and have found that the soles wear out quicker than most, but that is because it is a nice tacky rubber that does well on trails. They are not waterproof, but I do not think they collect too much water if you find yourself in wet grass. They fit true to size. Expect 300-400 miles out of these unless you do a lot of road miles. Also for me, I get a little bit of friction/hot spot formation at the ball of my foot when I run fast in these Salomons that I do not get in thicker forefoot shoes. Bottom line, these are good summer trail shoes.
