The Speedcross 3 is my second pair of Salomons (I also have a pair of XT Wings 3) but definitely not my last. I have fairly flat feet and am very susceptible to plantar facisitis, so I need comfortable but supportive shoes. I also need them sturdy and light- as my main activity is hiking over fairly challenging terrain. This includes boulder scrambles, technical trails, plenty of rocky trails with elevation gain/loss, as well as getting across streams via rock hopping or balancing on felled trees. These are so, so comfy, straight out of the box, and have great grippy soles. I have some super Merrell ankle height boots that have not seen much wear since I got the Salomons. I've has the other pair longer and have worn them for hundreds of miles of hiking at this point and they still look great. The Speedcross 3 is more grippy and good for tricky terrain, whereas the XT Wings have a little more arch support- good for longer but smoother hikes. I'm an 8.5 and I find them very true to size. I know some people don't care for the lacing system but I love it- so easy and no worries about untied shoes. I wish I had 4 more pairs of these. Definitely prefer these to any other footwear for hiking as long as the weather is above freezing.

Absolutely wonderful shoe in all respects. Size is perfect. Support is perfect. Performance is perfect. Great looking. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love these shoes! This is my third pair and the only shoes that I use for performance. I have even worn them in the snow!

I love these on the steep trails! And, I was surprised at the amount of arch support they had. They are perfect for my flat feet! I normally wear Brooks and New Balance. The extra supportive running shoes that tend to slip on trails.

I love these shoes for running. This is my second pair. I bought my first pair to train for a half marathon during a western New York winter. They are great for slippery snow covered roads, but I foind I love them for year round running on and off roads! I highly recommend these!

Salamon are THE best sneakers....great support, love the colors, sturdy bottom...walk everyday...run a little. Fourth pair!

I ordered these for my upcoming trip to Norway. Being it's typically a bit on the rainy side, I knew these would be a great fit for hiking. By husband has burned through 3 pair already and just loves them. He like the light weight and fast-drying aspects. And of course Zappos is the best!

I bought these shoes for winter running and while there obviously hasn't been any snow to run in yet, I can tell these shoes will be great! The soles are actually a little bit sticky. I will feel a lot more confident that I won't be falling on any slick spots. The foot bed and ankle collar of these shoes is very cushy. I usually run in size 7 shoes and these shoes do seem to run small so I'm going to return this pair and get a 7.5, but I'm definitely going to stick with these shoes for my winter running!

These have been the best shoes - my 11 y-o athlete wears them to school every day, she wears them to run, to every 'dry land' activity at swim team, on every family hike, etc. Previously she had a lot of foot pain in her arch when running but with these shoes, she has never had an issue. She has worn them over a year and they still are in great shape. I've run them through the washing machine and they came out looking new. These shoes have supported her active lifestyle, provided constant support and they look great! She has grown again and we will be buying another pair. They are the only shoes she LOVES.

I found these to run small. I went up a full size, anticipating any foot swelling on the trail and I'm happy I did. These sneaks are so comfortable. I wear these for hours while aggressively trail running in the White Mountains. I don't wear them on hikes typically, but I think they'd do well on slippery rocks. They weigh next to nothing.

I bought these shoes for mud runs. I was skeptical about the mixed reviews on size. I wear a 9 in Asics and Brooks. I went with my normal size and they were too big. I'm reordering in a 8. They are extremely comfortable shoes and I love the bright colors. Can't wait to try them out in my next mud run!

I wear a size 5 in regular shoes and a 5 1/2 or 6 in running shoes. After reading the reviews about this shoe running large, I ordered a size 5. I found the shoe to be true to size and a size 5 is too small to use as a running or hiking shoe. I am returning it for a 5 1/2 (hope I don't need a 6!). It's a great looking shoe and very comfortable. Order the size you normally run in.

What another great shoe from Salomon! I just got my Speedcross 3 and the cushioning a support is the best I have ever come across. I have been on the constant search for a well cushioned arch supportive shoe, and have purchased many sneakers only to be disappointed, but this shoe is the best, so I had to write this review! I have bad knees and plantar fasciitis so I really need good cushioning, and support for mild probation. I have a normal width foot. The Speedcross 3 are perfect right out of the box. The cushioning is amazing! And the fit is perfect. Plus the colors are superb. I am going to have to get the waterproof pair as well and throw out all the other sneakers I have purchased, along with all the orthotic insoles I have had to buy to get some measure of support.

Perfect shoe: comfortable, lightweight, good traction, water resistant. Plan to use these hiking in the Rockies this summer but for now they're great on long walks in the city, rain or shine. Though they aren't totally waterproof, but they do keep my feet relatively dry when I go out in the rain, and they dry very fast.

Love these shoes! This is my 2nd pair and they are great on the trails - in all conditions. They are great in mud, ice, gravel and of course, dirt.

I was looking for a good trail running shoe and I found it! I've never owned a pair of Salomons but I'm in love. I bought the blue and green pair and I really like the style and colors. The treads are amazing on the trails and the fit is great. I have a wider foot and these still fit me great and I got my typically running shoe size. They're stiff enough that my foot isn't sliding around, but soft enough that my foot can flex and not feel constrained. Completely sold!!

Love these shoes & love Zappos. These are the most comfortable pair of trail running shoes ever, they provide great stability and comfort during runs. They definitely run large, so I returned my 1st pair and exchanged for a 1/2 size up. Pricey pair of running shoes, but well worth it.

I love these shoes. Out of the box they were super comfortable. Good arch support, slimming looking. The tread is different than anything I have ever worn, and I love it. Grip is good, I feel stable on my feet. These are a hit.

Best hiking shoes ever. On the trails it keeps a clumsy person upright. No issues with water and that's a big deal in northern California. Comfort is stellar. True to size and width.

I absolutely love these shoes! I ordered and tried over nine pairs of sneakers to find the ultimate shoes for my bootcamp, insanity, P90X type workout routine and this was it. They have amazing grip which would be perfect for all the burpees and jumps we do on grass and uphill and down hill hiking drills as well. The color is like a mixed sorbet. So gorgeous and the shoelaces are such a breeze to put on and off. They do run half a size small, though, so I am glad that I listened to the previous reviews.

I love the color and style of this shoe but sadly, it is too narrow through the ball of my foot. I typically wear an Asics 11 and the 11 in the Salomon fit. I just wish the toe box area was wider...and I have a normal size foot! Guess I will have to go back to Asics. Just was looking to try something new for my trail running.

I have purchased Salomon's before; very comfortable shoe! This one is extremely comfortable. And the color combo is great!

I am not an avid runner but I do like to run. This is my third pair of this particular show, ONLY because i ordered two more after my first pair for fear that they would discontinue this style. Super-comfy right out of the box, no rubbing or any issues. Love!

These are super comfortable and durable shoes. I originally bought them for trail hiking but soon started to wear them for all my exercising. They have great orthodics inside, I love the easy lace up. This is my third pair. I highly recommend them.

My 8th pair of Salomons and a die hard fan. No break in period. Amazing comfort and durability. I have had all styles and colors. This pair is water resistant and yesterday I ran through wet grass and the claim stands true. Love these shoes!
