I have two other Merrill shoes, but these boots are just too wide for my semi-narrow feet. I even put my insert in and still way too wide. If you have narrow feet, I wouldn't choose this boot.

I'm 100% happy with these great, comfortable boots. I love the fit. My calves are 14.5 and they are perfect. Just enough room for skinny jeans, yet not too big to wear with skirts/dresses. The color is amazing...charcoal. I am more than pleased with this wonderful new addition to my family of boots!

I bought these for horseback riding, waterproof and durable but they turned out to be more comfortable than my Ariats! (the footbed has a decent arch support) The rubber sole is great on gravel etc. so less foot fatigue. Plus they are soft and supple so no wearing-in AKA pain and blisters. I just dust them off and I can wear them with jeans or a skirt, very flattering shape. One thing to note, the top of boot is wide, I decided to overlook since I can then tuck thicker jeans in but it's not super-fitted at the top. (I shopped the heck out of boots before buying these) OVERALL My best buy of the year!

I have a wider calf so these boots fit just perfectly - they are snug but comfortable. Fashionable and modern. I wear them when riding horses and the sole is kind of slippery but that's just me, I'm sure no one else will have that problem.

This is by far the most comfortable boots that I have ever had. I am a size 7 and they fit just right. I love the fact that everyone compliments me on them. I highly recommend! You will thank me. They worth every penny!

Removable footbed allowed me to insert my orthotics - awesome. Comfortable enough to wear all day to work. I work in a school and walk all day.

I just purchased these boots in black and so far love them. I looked for a long time and they are perfect. I will be going to Germany in January and really need a good stylish waterproof boot that I can dress up or down. I ordered 1/2 size up because of the reviews. They are perfect with socks or without. I can also wear with my skinny jeans, as well as, my regular pants fit well over the top. They will also be cute with dresses or skirts. Couldn't be happier and I don't have to take any other boots.

Love these boots! One of the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. They are great and can be dressed up or down.

These are the most comfortable boots ever! The toe box is just perfect, the arch support is just right! I wish I could live in them! My only gripe is that the flat black just isn't versatile enough - it makes them too casual to wear with a dress.

I'm almost surprised how many compliments these boots get. People love'em, and so do I. Size 11 was right on when first received, boots stretch out a little as you wear them, but I find that to be ok for winter boots, even mountaineering socks will fit and keep your feet warm in these not particularly warm boots. So far they've held up to any moisture, and sole rubber is. Ice and sticky on ice. Functional and good looking, just what I wanted. Arch should definitely be more supportive.

Got these boots yesterday. They're really beautiful boots, but they just don't fit my feet right. I'm afraid I'll have to send them back. Other disadvantages are that it is difficult to get my foot into the boot (as other reviewers said) and I guess I'm looking for something a little less synthetic and more rugged. Still, I will try Merrells again, since I have a pair of Merrell shoes that are wonderfully comfy and that have aged very slowly and beautifully.

I love these boots! I bought them because they are waterproof and made by Merrell, and every pair of Merrell shoes I have (lots!) are really comfortable. I've worn them tromping all over downtown Seattle without any problems at all - they are nice and warm too!

Very nice quality & very comfortable; good toe room. True to size (at size 9); narrow shaft. But alas, foot is too clunky-looking for skirts that I bought these for, so I'm returning them.

This is a great boot, and it would've been perfect, except for the calf circumference. I don't really think of myself as having large calves, but finding a boot this season has been brutal, except for UGGS. It zips, but just barely, and I'm afraid in my travels, with any swelling from flying, etc., that I'd find myself bootless. Captiva mid turns out to be the best for me. The only other comment I will make...neither positive or negative, just a fact. This boot is not black-black...it's more of a charcoal, due to the nature of the leather. It will look great with blue jeans, but not so sure how it will look with black.

I loved the look of these boots the minute I saw them online. I read the reviews and was concerned about the fit in the ankle. I went ahead and purchased them in my regular size 8. When I went to try them on I got stuck at the ankle until I tried thin socks. They are a bit snug getting through the ankle area but very comfortable on and great for walking. I have gotten a ton of compliments on them. I wear them with skinny jeans or stirrup pants. I love them!

I really wanted to keep these boots because they are so incredibly comfortable (not surprising though, since they are from Merrell) and the color and style are wonderful, but I couldn't justify keeping them if I wasn't 100% happy with them because they are quite pricey. My only complaint is that they kind of splayed out sideways at the very top, and they weren't as fitted as I would like them to be. My calves are neither slim or wide, but average or a bit 'athletic'.

I love Merrells and had high hopes for these boots. I really struggled to get my foot into them. The ankle opening seems really small. Once I got them on I found I could not zip them all the way. I have athletic calves that measure 15.5 inches. The circumference said 16 inches but they would only zip half way. Possibly the circumference is smaller than 16 inches in a size 7. Sadly they have to go back.

I love this boot except for a couple of things. The circumference of the boot opening and shaft is too wide in my opinion. I don't have overly skinny ankles and calves but there is a decent sized gap. Although the gap isn't uncomfortable, the top looks funny with skinny jeans and the ankle forms a crease. I had ordered this boot and then returned if because of these issues. But after trying on countless boots, I haven't found anything as comfortable as the Tetra, so I ended up reordering it. The gap still bugs me but my feet are pretty happy.

I thought these boots would be the perfect all weather comfy boot! Sadly, they did not come close to hugging my thinnish legs. So, they have to go back. However, the leather is really nice and the foot bed is super comfy.

I like these boots very much. They are more rugged-looking in person than in the photo, so they aren't really work-appropriate, but they keep my feet and legs warm and dry. They are a bit heavy and stiff, so I don't wear them unless the weather really calls for it. I've been very glad for them during some recent heavy rains. I wish they were just a bit lighter, but you can't have it all, I guess. they are wide in the calf, if that is important for you. Mine are wide and they fit.

I saw these in my local Merrells store and loved the look of them. However, though they were extremely comfy (as all my Merrells are), I was sad that they are cut too wide for my calf. I considered buying them anyway and wearing them only over jeans and leggings, but even then, they looked silly from the side. Too bad. I ended up with the mid-calf Launch instead and I love them. Better fit for my slender legs.

Keeping these boots...wore them for a week in New York City walking everywhere for hours on concrete everyday. I did put my orthotics in after the first day because my legs were aching, that helped a lot. I like the style, not too flashy. They sort of have an earth shoe feel because the heel is so low but that is not all bad. I like them, they are informal and relaxed, they will get a lot of use. I like the roominess. Even with my orthotic they did not feel tight. I always have a hard time with shoes being too narrow. (Wide fore foot, narrow heel issues.)

I really wanted to like these. They're nice looking boots and seem like they'd be comfortable. However, if you're a short girl, beware. I'm 5'2, with muscular legs and these boots are just too tall. They come to just below my knee and gap at the top. Back they go.

I own several pairs of Merrell shoes. I have a narrow 7.5 foot and no matter what style I've gotten (from hiking shoes to mary jane style) they've always run true to size. These ran small; they were short and had a very narrow ankle. The leather was very stiff and I had a hard time getting my foot inside. I'm also not really happy with the duck-like toebox. I also ordered the Captiva Strap Waterproof boot at the same time to compare. That one ran slightly large for the size. For nearly identical styles of boots (I can barely tell them apart in person; as far as I can tell the sole/footprint is the only difference) I am surprised at the difference in fit. I'll be returning them both.
