I really liked these boots but the left one fit tighter in the ankle than the right one. I liked the way the right one fit and it was comfortable but I returned them because the left one was too tight. I have never had this problem in shoes before. I thought this may have been a fluke but see that others have had similar experiences?

Can't love it. And I really really tried! It's very attractive, the right leather, the right sole, the right look etc. But this is the second pair I am returning, each for the same reason: there is something off in the line of the boots. The construction and cut of the boot at the ankle is not designed correctly. The fit is off. I am pretty easy to fit in shoes and boots but this one left welt marks at the inside of my ankle at the juncture of the straps. I have never had this happen before. My ankles are not thick or puffy or anything like that. I have never had a pair of boots do this before. It is with regret that they go back. Sigh.

Never got on, couldn't get my high arch into the boot without forcing. Beautiful boot, truly. My foot may be a tad too wide too with its scars from various surgeries.

Once I got the boots on they were super comfortable. But, I can't imagine struggling to get them on each time I wear the boot. I'm reluctantly returning them.

This boot is comfortable, yet I have somewhat of a clown shoe feeling about them. I loved the distressed nature of the leather, I loved the buckle detail, and they are definitely practical and stylish. I just wanted them to not feel so clumpish, I am very picky. I want it all, after some debate I unfortunately sent them back... I will keep looking and trying... love you Zappos!

These boots have a great sole, very comfortable, but they are really tight at the ankle and all the way up the calf. Unless you are super skin and bones, these won't fit. Great style, they just need to allow for a calf.

I saved for three months for these boots and spent a few quick outings getting them broken in. Yesterday was the first time I wore them all day at work and my feet are so sore today I am limping! I'm so sad. I can't return them and can't ever imagine wearing them again... they are awful. Cute. But awful...

This is definitely one of most favorite! I have had people walking by stop look at them:) And not to mention Zappos VIP service rocks!

Love these boots. I wore them probably 4 times a week this winter. They are good looking, comfortable, waterproof, and versatile. Good with skirts or skinny jeans, good in the snow and slush and rain. I was nervous about spending so much money on a single pair of shoes, but I wear these boots all the time. I would give them 6 stars if I could.

I love these boots!!! They are incredibly comfortable and stylish. The footbed is well cushioned, without breaking down. I'm on my feet all day at work and by the end of the day my feet still feel great in these. They're a great neutral color to wear with tons of styles. So far, I've only worn them with skinny jeans and skinny corduroys tucked it. I get tons of compliments from colleagues who admire the sole. The sole is better than a riding boot with flexibility and traction. These boots have been heavenly since the first wear!

I positively love these boots! I have been looking for some casual yet classy looking boots for cooler weather & these are perfect. They look good dressed up or down & are extremely comfortable. I wear a lot of skirts & these boots look great with them. They were a bit tight in the ankle when I first got them, but after wearing them a few times they loosened up. These are by far my favorite boots & I'd love to get them in black too!

I love my new Merrell Tetra boots. I have worn them twice and both were for all day. Very comfortable right out of the box! Looked great with skirt and tights and with jeans tucked in. Have not worn them in the rain so cannot comment on the waterproofing. Love how they look and feel!

I was looking for a casual looking boot that had good traction on the bottom for New England weather. This boot looks great over or under jeans and can be worn with skirts as well. Very comfortable and warm when worn with wool socks. Funny I found my regular size of 8.5 to be too small and had to exchange for the 9, I have two other pairs of Merrell shoes and both are 8.5. After sizing up, I did not find that the boot was tight to get into, it was a perfect fit. I love these boots and have already worn them a ton.

Love these! They were indeed a tight fit at the ankle the first few times. I wore them around the house a couple of days and they felt better. I walked about 4 miles the first outing, and they felt great! Love them, and the fact that in Wisconsin, I will be able wear these waterproof boots on days I wouldn't dare wear my Frye boots. Buy these!

My favorite boots ever. They have been great for rainy soccer games, days at work and recently a weekend in Whistler. I have larger calves and was worried they wouldn't fit but they are just right.

Love these boots. They are as comfortable as my slippers. Seriously, I leave these on all day and even at night, as I settled down to watch TV ro read. I wear orthotics and couldn't tell from the description if these boots would accommodate the orthotics. I took a chance, since most Merrells do, and discovered I could remove the Merrell insoles and slip in my orthotics. These fit true to size. I wear a 7 in other merrells and a 7 in this boot. As others said, they are a little tight around the ankle, but it's not an issue and it's worked itself out in a few wears. I really wanted a brown, waterproof boot that fit my orthotics. Finally found it after trying many other brands. Thanks Merrell and thanks Zappos!

I love these boots. They fit like a glove the minute I put them on. They are warm and waterproof.

Heck yes. Cute boots that are waterproof? Please buy them for your sake. I have had mine for a few months and they have held up to the onslaught of rain in Portland. A woman at my work has had these same boots for 3 years and they still look fantastic and keep out the water. The ankle is tight! Don't let that deter you as it loosens up after a few weeks of wear. Yay Merrell!

I love these boots! I got them as a Christmas gift last year, and I adore them. They really are waterproof (although I probably wouldn't recommend standing in a pool of water). They're perfect for walking around on rainy days on campus. The boots are overall pretty comfy, although I do think they're a little stiff. I think the stiffness will go away the more I wear them. The chestnut color is pretty true to color, and I was not disappointed with the quality at all. And as always, Zappos had fabulous shipping and customer service.

I love these boots! I'd say I have average size ankles/calves and they fit perfectly! They are extremely comfortable. I feel like I could walk all day in them!

I was looking for a comfortable leather, rubber soled, knee high boot. I checked out a few other brands at other sites, but found Zappos and though, hey! Let's see. My husband told me to look for the Merrell brand as I love their sneakers and sandal collections as well. The Tetra Strap is great! I love the boot, It's comfortable, and cool. I've gotten quite a few compliments. The one downside is the faded look is not too great to really wear with more dressier attire. They are more casual -- wear with jeans, leggings, etc. The calf stretch is great too, my sister says she always has trouble finding because of her big calves, but these fit her quite well. You may want to get a half size bigger as they just barely fit. And as you may know with Merrell, their support is among the best out there. I don't need to use my arch support inserts with these boots. Yea!

I purchased these in black & brown, kept the black pair. Didn't love the brown for some reason. I can wear these ALL day, they are comfortable. I am a small girl but have thick ankles and these are fine so I dont know what the complaint in about the ankle size. I can even fold over my boot cut jeans into them. I think they are cool everyday and rainy weather boots. Not at all dressy IMO.

Very comfy and cushion feel, roomy toe box, nice appearance. I wore them to work day after receiving them, no problems. Fit true ti size. Arch support is not as much as athletic shoes but would wear for walking and extended periods, they are that comfortable
