So comfy! it was crazy how comfy it is... waterproof is always nice.. but of course like the others said, very small at the ankle but it kind of stretches out as you keep wearing them and it gets easier to take on and off.

I absolutely love these boots! First, I have a neuroma so shoes cannot be constricting in the toe box. Second, I have a smaller calf. Both of these have made it very hard for me to find any shoes let alone brown tall boots. It is just a joy after searching for two years to find the boots. One side note, I had to wear them in the house for about an hour before I had a true sense that they would work. Initially they were a little tight in the toe box but the leather gave making them more comfortable. This is the perfect combination of dressy, sassy with my skirts, yet casual enough with the rubber sole for jeans/leggings.

I absolutely love these boots. They have nice retro styling, are very comfortable, and are, of course, Merrel quality. The sizing is perfect I wear a 10 and they are a 10, I wore them all day long the first time. They are definitely waterproof and great for winter. They are not too tight on the calf and have just enough give. The rubber sole is perfect in winter wet weather.

After buying a number of boots, these are the keepers. I like the matte leather, but it does kind of look like rubber. The boots are a bit wide at the top, but that does not bother me. They are also a little tight when slipping your foot into them. But overall they are comfortable. The treads on the soles are flexible, and I think will be great on wet pavement. They are not warm, however.

I got these and the La Canadienne Theas sent to me to choose between. These Merrells are far superior at less than half the cost of the Theas. I needed a good walking boot to wear as my only pair of shoes on a trip to Europe. These are going to be perfect and they are very versatile. They are a great value!

Like other reviewers I found that this boot is difficult to get into. The zipper doesn't go down quite far enough and the instep is a tad too low resulting in a struggle getting into them. Too bad, I really wanted this boot to work. I'm giving it 4 stars but if you have the right shaped foot it would definitely be 5.

I was glad I read up on what others wrote about this boot. My wife normally wears a size 7.5, but I went with the slightly larger, size 8 based on the reviews. My wife was quite pleased with the boot and loves the style and comfort her feet has experienced. She bought another Merrell shoe because of the comfort and quality of this brand. And, to top it off, the ease of shopping was magic with the friendly attitude I experienced with the sales, dude. You rock with the VIP level shipping! We will be ordering more shoes and one day account for as many shoes as the lady in the Far East!

Great boot. I normally wear a 7.5 medium width in shoes I wear with socks (I wear a 7 with thin hose) and this fit true to size. The foot bed is roomy and comfortable. I have pretty big calves, about 15" circumference and I'm short so it is hard to find a boot that isn't too tall (hitting too high at the knee) and that zips up over the widest part of my calf. The shaft of this boot is quite tight but it does zip up over legging jeans. (With a little tugging.) The one place it feels tight is on the ankle, but I'm hoping it will loosen up over time. It is very good-looking, my fashionista 20-something sister tells me every time I wear them how much she loves them. I'm young mom and these are great for everything -- rugged tread and waterproof mean I can chase the kid around the playground and still look good. Amazingly hot-looking for a Merrell.

I purchased these because they look super cool for being waterproof. I have young children and I won't have to "worry" about ruining them when I am running errands. They fit a little tight at the ankle and calf and don't have much stretch.

Love this boot! It is just what I was looking for - casual, cute and waterproof. I usually wear 7.5 or 8, and kept this in the 8 even though it is a bit roomy, and has the traditional boxier toe, as it provides plenty of room for thick socks for winter. The black is kind of a dusty black, which I like because it looks a bit more casual and fits the style. Works well over over jeans or with skirts.

I really, really liked the boots but there was one thing that really bothered me. The top of the boot opening was pretty wide for skinny jeans, but too narrow to stuff bootleg jeans in.

I purchased these boots because I am six months pregnant and have a one year old and needed to find a boot that I could wear through the fall and winter months that would offer the needed support and comfort a pregnant mother's feet need. These boots are great and exactly what I needed for the following reasons: they are real leather and weatherproof, offer awesome support, soles have great grip for the playground and uneven terrain, calf area has stretch so as my legs get larger with my pregnancy there is room to grow. I can wear them for hours and my feet feel fine and they are stylish, but comfortable. I have received many compliments on them. Because I am pregnant and my feet seem to grow while I am, I ordered a size up. They are a bit large now but they still fit great. My only complaint if I had to have one would be that the ankle entry area could be a bit larger. Overall, a great boot!

I love these! They feel custom-made for me. I guess boots are one of those things you just have to try on. I have wide feet and muscular (but not huge) calves and narrow ankles and these fit like a glove. Leather is soft, flexible and has a lovely velvet-y finish. Don't be deterred by the bad reviews if you are looking for a multi-purpose boot - good-looking and durable at the same time, give this a try, especially if you are athletic and have wide feet. ;) In some boots/shoes I wear a 9 but in these I wear an 8.5 so I think they are true to size and maybe a bit big?

Great boots, but the circumference of the boot shaft (covering the calf) isn't reliably over-sized as some reviews indicate. My calf is a measured 16 inches and although some reviews indicated this boot would fit 16-inch calves, but the pair I received did not. The shaft circumference was more like 15 inches. Otherwise, these boots are terrific. Nice leather (not too thin or stiff), comfortable sole. Hard to slip on if you have a high arch and instep, but the foot bed appears to run wide. Overall, a very nice boot, but if you have large calves or high arch/instep, you should definitely try these boots on first before purchasing.

These are perfect. I have mourned the loss of my Merrell Spire Peak boots for the last two years and finally resolved to replace them. I am so happy to have found these. They were plenty wide enough for my wide feet, despite not being marked as such, and they just fit my almost 15" calves. I may buy a boot band so that I can tuck in jeans. The heel is very loose, so I might put in a thick foam heel grip. But for boots that I could confidently and fashionably wear to a client meeting from now through next May, it will be worth it. I just feel so invincible in these boots knowing they will look good and that I can wear them all day, no matter what the weather! Cold, snow, rain, slush, these are my pick.

I ordered these boots and really like them. I did have trouble getting them on the first time and thought maybe they were too small, but once I shoved my heel in they were fine. I've gotten used to it but I think others are right that a shoehorn would be helpful. I've walked all over London with them and felt stylish and comfortable!

Wow! Ordered these yesterday and am wearing them now. That's as close as you can get to instant gratification with online shopping.
Love these boots. I have large calves and these actually fit however it was a tight squeeze. I'm not sure that I could wear them over jeans :(
The boots look even better than in the picture. I can't wait to wear them out!

Extremely comfortable! I bought these for a trip to Europe for cool and rainy days since they are waterproof. I'm hoping to walk all day in these! My only complaint is that the leather has a bit of dull finish which makes them look like a lighter black - almost towards gray. I prefer a glossier leather. It could be because they are waterproof. I have had plenty of positive comments when I wear them to work.
