I have a different style of Frye ballet shoe with a leather sole that is so comfortable. These pale in comparison may be the difference in sole or toe shape. These are going back.

I love the look of this shoe and I have them in two colors. I find the fit to be unreliable shoe to shoe, so I really can't speak much to fit. I'm disappointed that an iconic American brand is importing their shoes, and I feel that that is where the issues come in. The stitching on some shoes is sloppy and the fit, as I said, varies by half a size. You may need to try several pairs in several sizes before you find the right ones, but they are a great, simple style.

I ordered these in the pink in my normal size of 5.5. They definitely have a pinkish hue, but in a low light setting they could be mistaken for a tan color. They were soft and pretty but unfortunately way too wide. My feet kept slipping out every time I took a step. Sad to have to send these back.

So I'm not really sure what happened here...I have been stalking pointy-toed flats for a long time before I finally decided on a pair, and I chose the Frye's because I have a pair of engineer boots that are going on year 9 and still as awesome as the day I bought them. Totally disappointed: both shoes are marked 6.5M but one shoe is too small and one shoe is too big. I have never had this problem before, so I am sure that it is not my feet that are different sizes. I figured that even if one of the shoes was the correct measurements for that size, they still didn't fit, so I didn't try to re-order. Sadly, ordering a black flat in another brand.

The material of these shoes are very good but they run a bit wide. I am a size 7 and typically order a normal width but these were too wide on me so I am exchanging for narrow.

Very weird sizing. I got one size bigger after seeing other reviews and the shoes I got are almost 2 sizes smaller. I am a 6. I got a 7 and these look like 4 or 5. Looks like I got kids sizing but on checking there was no mistake these are women shoes. I'd love to exchange but it seems like a lottery and it may take multiple exchanges and a good month or so to get the right size on my feet.

Nice-looking shoe that I hoped would be comfortable, for a dressy event lasting 6+ hours. I'm sure these fared better than many other options I could have chosen. But by the end of the event, they were rubbing painfully on spots. Maybe they're "broken in" now and will be better in future?

I thought these would be a good basic shoe that went with everything, but instead they're just plain. No cushioning or padding anywhere in the shoe, and they feel stiff on my feet. For the price, not a good value.

I'm so disappointed about this shoe. Great fit (amazing for a pointy toed shoe!), quality leather, but terrible color. I bought the red expecting a true red with some dark overtones. Unfortunately, it's really an off orange color.

I first ordered my regular shoe size, 8, vs my Frye size, 7.5, based on reviews. The 8 arrived and was on the large side. So I ordered the 7.5. When it arrived it was more than a half size smaller and quite a bit more narrow than the 8. I still had the 8 here and compared the two side by side. The 8 is 1/2 inch longer in length than the 7.5 and is stretched at least that much wider. Come on Frye! I know the product is hand made and is nice quality but I'm frustrated with having to order, return and re-order. When I get a pair of shoes or boots, I want to wear them right away and these sizing differentials are poor quality control. Trying to decide if it's worth ordering (and probably returning) yet another pair. This is not my first experience along these lines with Frye. Zappos does a fine job of getting the product out and returns are seamless, but I may have to just go back to bricks and mortar to save myself some time.

I am so confused. I bought the turquoise a few months ago, and they were great. They fit true to size for me and they were easy to break in. I ordered the red, and when they came today, I saw the sole is now rubber (as pictured, but I realized my turquoise pair has a sturdier pebbled leather sole). The same size is tight in this new pair, not just needs stretching, but really tight. And to top it off, the Frye logo stamped into the leather in the heel insole has "Vince Camuto" stamped partially over it. The shoe name and style number and size are not stamped inside the heel like they are in my turquoise pair. Are these part of a counterfeit batch or factory leftovers? I will be returning them. Anyone else have this problem?

This shoe is clearly well made. The leather is soft, and is like a slipper. For me, the shoe was too flat and didn't provide quite enough support. I think it's also more flattering on a narrow foot.

I wanted a navy pair of soft leather flats and am disappointed that these did not work for me. The were a little long (I wear a 5 1/2) and too tight in the toes. Will keep looking! Thanks Zappos, you are the best.

The sizing is way off! Last spring I bought a pair of 7.5 in black and they were way too tight, so I returned them for a pair of 8s and they were too loose. I just ordered 7.5 in cement wash and I was swimming in them. I love the style and am willing to invest in flats that will last more than a season without looking beat up.

These flats are adorable and the leather is so soft - so I thought 'Gee! These will be great for when I don't want a heel' but unfortunately, they need some serious breaking in. I walked 4 blocks in them to a concert venue and by the time I got there, the back of my left heel was covered in blood. The shoes are not too big or too small, they just do that thing that all new flats seems to want to do. I thought with them being more expensive and such soft leather that I could escape the new flat woes, but I was punished. The walk home was less than enjoyable - then rubbing the skin off the other foot which was carrying most of my weight. Very cute shoes but either break them in at home or be sure and coat your foot with a friction stick!

These Frye flats are beautiful shoes, nice leather quality and reasonably comfortable for one who is very flat footed. They are only offered in Medium width, and they were in fact medium in width. Unfortunately they were too wide for my AA or AAA narrow feet. So there is no discrepancy with what is listed on the information from Zappos. I am disappointed with manufacturers who don't make a narrow shoe anymore. I am asking Zappos to please communicate the marketplace's need for narrow widths in mid-range pricing. Thank you in advance!

I really want to love these shoes, but I just can't. I ordered grey to goes with some grey jeans. The color turned out to be taupe--more tan than grey. I ordered my usual 8.5 and they felt very tight. So I ordered a 9 in black and smoke. The smoke color was also more brown than grey. Both pairs were way too big. They feel like really good quality leather, so I suppose my regular size would stretch a bit. But I hate to buy shoes with the hope that they will eventually fit. All three pairs are going back.

Based on reviews I ordered my usual size and another pair a 1/2-size bigger, and both were too big. Also wide. Very cute, but going back.

This is a lovely shoe and the leather is so soft. Beware though, the shoe runs a full size small. I usually wear 7.5 in flats, sometimes an 8, and I needed a 8.5 in these. Zappos is wonderful though with free shipping and returns. I recommend ordering 2 sizes to try on and return one.

Shoe was a nice color, and a good flat, but it was too squished in the toes. A larger size would have been too big. For that price should have been a better shoe - kind of flimsy and thin. Pad in the bottom was decent but I've had better.

After reading reviews and being worried that these shoes may run small I went for an 8.5 (usually an 8 or 8.5). Initially I thought, eh, they are a little tight and will break in. Not the case, these run small! I won't be able to wear them for more than a half hour at a time. Definitely size up! As far as the style of the shoe is concerned, they are beautiful, neutral flats. Now...if only I had sized up!

I really liked these shoes but the length and width were much smaller. I wear an 8.5 medium and I would put them on for an hour and I would get a deep mark in the back of my ankle and my toes looked like they were going to break out of them. I continued to try and break them in and after an hour every time my foot would have a deep mark in my ankle and they would be too uncomfortable to wear. I tried for 5 months putting them on one or two times a week wearing for one hour and it never improved. Zappos let me return them and gave me full credit. I was afraid to order a larger size because of so many mixed reviews on how the shoe fit or didnt fit so I just moved on to something else. For the price charged the size should be consistant and run true to size and not be all over the board.

I so wanted to keep these because they are the nicest flats I've tried on thus far, and came closest to fitting -- very soft leather and lots of style. However, I was between an 8.5 and 9. (I'm normally an 8.5 [39] in non-Fryes, and either 8 or 8.5 in Fryes, depending on style). If a shoe is not comfortable when I first try it on, I don't assume that "breaking it in" will work. These are definitely worth a try. The quality is tops. No arch support at all, but leather is comfortable on bare feet.
