I love these boots. They're simple and classic black leather boots -- nothing striking or trendy, but the two snaps in the back (upper and lower at the heel) add a unique touch. I did have some trouble with a broken snap on my initial pair of these, which I ordered directly from Frye. They then screwed up my repair/return order and I had a pretty awful customer service experience with them, after which I came to Zappos, which I should have done in the first place! Amazing speed, care, and customer service here. Frye does know how to make a boot though. They're true to size, and they feel like I've worn them for years already, though it's only been a month. These are a wardrobe staple for me.

I really like these boots. The leather is soft and supple and the fit is comfortable. I got the wine color and it has a slight brown tone to it which makes it more versatile. The only negative I can see is the sole. It is slick so be carefull on ice and snow. Other that that I love them.

I just got these boots, and I am in love. Frye never lets me down. I was going to get the Jenna inside zip at first, but the calf was really tight, and the Melissa back zips fit perfectly. I usually am a 9 - 9.5, and the 9 fits really well. I got the fawn color, which is very unique and not like a normal brown at all. These are very sleek and versatile, I'll be able to wear them with everything and they will never be out of style. Well worth the extra money.

I almost cried. I wear a size 9. Christmas morning I slipped on these beautiful babies. Or at least I tried. They were almost impossible to slip on at first. I used the pull tabs and put them on and off a few times to stretch them out and they are a perfect fit! So hang in there! Use thin socks and they will become easier with each wear! As for the foot fit, it is perfect! You will not regret this purchase. I bought Cognac. That is a beautiful color that will go with everything! This is a classic style for years to come!

I ordered my regular size 6 and they fit perfect. Loved the antique grey (brownish grey) color. The best thing was I didn't pay for next day shipping and Zappos sent them the next day. Love Zappos service. Thank you Zappos!

Love these boots! I've purchased and returned several pairs of dark brown riding boots, and nothing compares to these. The leather is so soft. I usually wear a half size smaller in boots, but these boots fit true to size. I'm 5'6 and they aren't too tall. Many riding boots are too big in the calf for me, but these are just a little loose. They look great with skirts and jeans. They were definitely more expensive than other boots I looked at, but for more money, I have a pair of boots I'll probably wear for years. the only time I've noticed the snap coming undone is if I've crossed my legs. The only thing I don't love about them is the built-in arch support. I could do without it, but it doesn't bother me enough to return them. I've been wearing them for a month now and it's really a minor issue.

I am reviewing the "Brown Antique". I purchased a size 10. I wear an 11 in most shoes and 10 in Frye boots, so as Frye's go, they are true to size. The calf circumference was 16", but the calf should be significantly slimmer for smaller sizes.

I love these boots! They are so soft, so comfy, and I get tons of compliments on them. I love the feel of them inside and out. Love the low heel, and snug fit (I do not have skinny calves!). I originally bought the full grain black because I thought they no longer made the soft black. When I saw the soft black I called Zappos and explained that I had worn the full grain a couple of times but had really wanted the soft. They exchanged them for me without question. I am now a dedicated customer!

I am obsessed with Frye and these boots! They are so beautiful and the fit is amazing! I usually wear a 6 or 6.5. I got a 6 because I don't like it when the shaft of the boot is super loose. The 6 fit pretty tight but I know it will stretch out with some wear. The price is very steep but if you think about it Uggs are $200! I am already drooling over the possibility of buying more Frye boots! I got the dark brown and the color is gorgeous and the quality of the leather is very high. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing! These boots are wonderful. They are very comfortable, beautiful high quality leather, and a very rich brown. My only complaint is that Zappos doesn't ship to Canada any more.

Great boot, lots of compliments. The zipper is a little sticky at first but loosened up with wear. Lots of boot run big in the calf for me but these work well. Simple, comfortable, classic style that will work forever.

This is such a beautiful boot, and the quality is outstanding! I had no trouble with the zipper, but I the snaps on the back were so easy to manipulate that I was a little concerned how they would hold up over the long term. Unfortunately, the shaft is higher than I was hoping for, and I will be returning them. I would also like a little more arch support, but there was plenty of room for inserts.

Love these boots! Super comfortable and very classy! I bought the greige color and absolutely love them! Very unique and goes with almost everything! I will definitely be buying more Frye boots in the future! And buying from Zappos is always a plus!

Absolutely scrumptious boots and strangers stop me on the street to compliment me on my Frye boots. The leather is amazing and so worth the money Excellent construction, including the leather inside. I bought this in antique black and the soft, polished leather. I wear a size 6 and these are pretty true to size. I have slim ankles and calves so I have plenty of room to tuck jeans and socks into the boots. Great with dresses too and I'm practically sleeping in them I love 'em so much.

I love this boot! They fit true to size, and the leather stretches to conform to your foot so they are super comfortable.

Give it time! At first they were a little tight & stiff, but after 2 or 3 wearings they were very comfortable -- Frye boots get better with time!

I absolutely love these boots! I wear them every day to work and on the weekends. You can dress them up or down. I bought them in black and they run true to size. I'm 5' 4" and they fit perfectly around my calves (I'm not swimming in them). Yet there is room to wear them with skinny jeans. I had bought Paige Tall Riding first and returned them, they were too tall for me and it was a pain pulling them on. So happy to finally have bought my first pair of Frye boots.

Searched for months. These are the best black boots in existence for everyday casual wear.

I love my new Frye boots from Zappos! Customer service was excellent in helping me correct my online order and I received my boots in less than a week (free shipping too!). I will definitely purchase shoes from Zappos again.

I wrote a not so good review before though writing to say out of all the boots I tried on I kept my Fryes! Love them & well made. I still have trouble with the buttons, (snaps), unsnapping. I may have to contact Frye if it still keeps happening. The first pair was probably the 'better' pair though I kept the second I tried on. I wish this boot was a little taller in the shaft or a choice of heights. I would love a short back zip version no snaps needed. This boot has the best arch support and best comfort of all tried. I tried on 5 different pair from Zappos seeing couldn't find boots I liked in stores.

These are awesome! I got the 'grey' color which isn't a true grey but more of a blend, and I love it. Goes with everything. I like the fact it's zippered and that helps someone like me with larger calves. It does stretch with time and I like that aspect. I also like the look these boots give me around the ankle...a nice sleek and 'fitted' look (not cankley...if you know what I mean). They are very comfortable and not tight around the toe box at all. The only thing that I would change is the sole...it is smooth and sometimes running around in NYC with them can be a disaster waiting to happen, but I will ask my cobbler but some skid grips on them and it should be fine. I am thinking about getting another pair of these boots! This is my 4th pair of Frye boots.

I absolutely love these boots. Not only do they look great, but they feel like I am wearing comfortable tennis shoes. Seriously, these are so comfortable and have extra cushion in the footing, but look great. I have had a ton of compliments.

I originally wrote a bad review, the Omaha one. I was frustrated with my first pair that did not fit perfectly. (Prior Fryes I own I had the luxury to try on in the store). I tried lots of other boots from Zappos. I picked my now new Fryes, after I dissed them. It was the second pair that I tried. The second pair was a better fit for me! If your Fryes look more worn than you think they should, that is probably the way they are supposed to look. They provide good arch support! I love my boots!
