These boots are gorgeous. I have very high arches and generally cannot get pull on boots on, but I can these. They're very well made, edgy and stylish. The charcol is more dark brown than grey. Buy these boots!

This was a spendy purchase for me, but I love these boots. Ran true to size. I would say I have average size calves and they fit just right with tights and skinny jeans, no gaping at the top. Wore then on a vacation, right out of the box, and walked for two days straight with no problem. Love them!

I studied every black Frye boot on the site before picking these, and am very happy with them. When they first came I was sure I wouldn't be able to get them over my calves, but I pulled hard, and once up they were very comfortable.

This is such a gorgeous boot. So comfortable -- heel height is perfect! I'm sure Zappos was sick of me ordering boots and sending them back -- I will be keeping these as soon as I get the fashion okay from my daughter. So excited to find a pair that is perfect in all aspects. I usually wear a 9 1/2 and ordered a 9, and they fit perfectly. I ordered the dark brown tumbled, and they are beautiful. These are one set of hot boots! They are a little slough but nice, the fit is good, and you have no break in time, the day I got the boots I wore them for 5 hours with no discomfort at all.

First I ordered the 'charcoal'. It definitely wasn't charcoal, it was brown. So, I returned it for black and am in love with my new boots. I normally wear a 7 and ordered a 7. They are a bit large in the heel (a problem that I have with three pair of Frye boots. Yes, I am an addict). But I tried this pair with thicker sport socks and they are wonderful.

The strappy jane is amazing! Not only does it fit great they feel great too! I wear a 10 in a boot and a 9 1/2 in shoes I have ordered 10 s they are incredible. No break in time needed either.

Love these boots! They fit true to size: I'm a 7.5 full B width with a high arch and find them very comfortable. They are not at all tight around the calf - I am 5'6", 118lbs, athletic build if that helps anyone - more than enough room for jeans tucked in. Great Frye quality. The heel dresses them up a bit and the straps dresses them down a bit - perfect for every outfit.

Beautiful leather from Frye. I ordered a half size up and was very glad I did - these feel a bit narrower than my normal-width feet, but may stretch. Support is okay, but not as comfortable as the Veronica slouch. Just for the record, I was looking for a pair of black comfortable boots I could shove my feet into, and these were a close runner up.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these boots! I have a hard time finding boots to fit my larger calves so I was hesitant to try these, but the reviews convinced me to give them a try. I'm so glad I did! They're wonderful! My right leg is larger than my left, so that one is a tiny bit snug but I imagine the leather will stretch a little over time. They're are not uncomfortably tight, and I can still tuck jeans into them. My only complaint is that the tanning method gives them a chemical smell right out of the box instead of that nice leather smell, but I'm sure that will fade quickly.

I bought these for my wife, and she wears them every single day to work. She absolutely loves them.

I really like these boots. I have been looking for 2 years to find a pair of boots I like. I have short legs and calves on the skinny side and nothing was working. I finally ordered these and had them shortened about 2 inches (which wasn't difficult since there is no zipper). It cost me $24 to have them shortened and was entirely worth it. Even my 17 year old daughter says the length is perfect for me. If you have been having similar problems, consider having them shortened by a professional. I'm glad I did. I recently wore them to a 'barn party' fund-raising event and got many compliments. As usual, Zappos has been awesome about the returns on the boots that didn't work. Thank you, Zappos!

THIS is why I love Zappos! I ordered another boot on Monday after much thought ... it arrived Tuesday and I eagerly tried them on - but one boot just would NOT go on my foot. So, sadly, I returned them and picked out another pair. Ordered this other pair early yesterday and by this afternoon I am the happy owner of the PERFECT pair of fall brown boots to wear with dresses and sweaters! These are great, fit true to size, nice heel height, very comfy right away. Easy to pull on because of the softer leather and loop at the back of the boot. I have healthy sized calves and these fit perfectly - and I love the strap detail, very cool! I looked long and hard for a boot like this. I've been to department stores and shopped online looking for a specific kind of boot. I wanted it to be super stylish but wearable. Park City gets a ton of snow as early as September so I can't wear too high a heel unless it's a special occasion. I wanted a killer boot that I can wear anytime, day or night, summer or winter, with shorts or jeans. This is the one. They are a beautiful brown color and will go with anything. The calf is wide enough to tuck in a pant but not too loose to look sloppy. The heel is a perfect height- looks causal or dressy, depending on what you pair it with. My only complaint is that there should be a bigger front platform because the foot part is a bit tight because of the heel height. I have other similar Frye boots and I know that they get more comfortable with wear. The quality is outstanding and they last many years.

Most gorgeous boots I've owned (and I have several pair). Beautiful, soft leather, gorgeous color, perfect heel height, true to size. Will look amazing with jeans, pants, skirts, dresses...anything! I will get so much wear out of these for years & years. Worth every penny. Love them!

I love this boot. I got the charcoal and it's really neutral, looks like it has a little black and a little brown. You can wear with anything. This is my second pair of Frye boots. I have the Jane stitch, and now the strappy. They each fit differently. The stitch is a little more western looking and the shaft is stiffer. The strappy has more of an edge to it. It really is a stunning boot. Fits great and I have no problem with the shaft fitting with room to spare over my athletic calves. I can't wait to wear this boot. It's a little expensive, but the quality is there and they will last forever!

Classic shape, beautiful leather, solid construction, these boots are made to last forever and get more beautiful with age. They do need a bit of a break-in period due to sturdy leather footbed/outsole. Color charcoal is rather brownish-greyish, a very 'neutral' feel in the sense that it will go with any other color you want to wear. Maybe a bit darker that I hoped for. The straps are handy if you want to make the upper part of the shaft a tad more narrow. I actually removed the straps because I liked the 'naked' shape of the boot even better. My calf is 14 inch and I am 5.9 and the shaft fitted nicely, enough room for skinny jeans and not too wide with a skirt. My only problem with these boots is the way they fit my foot. I usually have a 9.5 W but my right foot is just slightly larger than the left foot. So I ordered a 9.5 (it comes in M). The 9.5 was really too large in the footbed and because its a pull on boot it was way too roomy when walking. I exchanged them for a 9 in the hope they would be perfect. But now my right foot was too snug. This might be solved by stretching just the right boot at the shoemakers but I couldn't take the chance with a boot that is this price. Thank god for Zappos! They have really the best customer service ever!

I already had these boots in a different color and love them. I was really looking for grey boots and the charcoal is really more brown but I kept them anyway because they are so cute and comfy. I can walk all day in these boots.

These boots were like a night with a young, gorgeous man who just is not going to be the one. Gasp! When I opened the box - what a fine, strong pair of beauties these are. I beheld the exquisite detailing and the style. But alas, the fit just was not right. I was not able to slide these on (no zipper!) without my jeans wrinkling all the way up to the knee. And the sole was like walking on a hardwood floor, barefoot. I will have to return this sexy pair of boots, I am sure that they will make the right woman happy.

Returning. So cute, but not for shorter legs with curvy calves. The fullest part of the shaft hits right at my calf and is not flattering. The leather quality was only medium :/ made in Mexico? For the cost you would think they could find someone in the USA willing to manufacture it. Super cute, but not cute enough to keep. Super fast shipping as always!
