had to return these as the arch support was way too high for my high arches. shoes felt stiff and blocky underfoot but they looked OK.

Way more clunkier in person, than online. In my opinion, I definitely think these have "the look" of orthopedic athletic shoes, once you see them out of the box. I'm a little embarrassed to wear them. Very stiff and very hard insole. I have two pairs of the flip flops and they are wonderful for my plantar fasciitis. I just ordered some slippers, but am thinking about returning these shoes.

I bought these particular shoes because they claimed to help with plantar fasciitis. Unfortunately I found them not to be any better for my foot pain than any other high end walking shoe. They look great, fit well, but do not help with foot pain.

So CLOSE! I am hard to fit and these were really close, BUT the nice, high arch support is too far back! I am normally an 8 1/2 B-C and these were great in the length, with plenty of room in the toe box. Not a lot of cushion in the sole, but that can be remedied. I am reordering in a 9. BTW, I don't care for white.

I was looking forward to this shoe after going through another. I have high arches and these didn't give enough support so I'm exchanging again. Thank goodness for Zappos, they make shoe shopping so easy.

I just ordered my third pair of Vionics sneakers. The first order came in Zappos timely fashion (overnight). They arrived with a lot of loose threads, by the tongue, one had visibly unraveled. I wore them around the house. The left foot had a very thick seam by my pinky toe. I called to return and received a replacement before I even had the return box ready! The replacement had the same thickened seam, but this time on the right inside, by my big toe. I decided to walk the concrete parameter of my house. It was worse than the first. I love these sneakers. I checked my old sneakers, kept in my garden shed, and the inner seams are half the thickness of the new ones. I believe the quality of finishing workmanship has gone down. I suspect they have changed the manufacturer, though I have no proof. I gave a rating of 3, because the arches, the design and the foot bed are wonderful. The bottoms appear to remain good. What good is it if the inner seamwork is sloppy at the expense of the wearer's comfort?

I have to agree with some other reviewers that the soles were surprisingly hard surfaced. I ponder why some people said it was so soft. I felt like my feet would bruise from them, the arch support, while quite prominent, was very hard and actually hurt my arch just on the trying on phase. Not a good shoe for me. Nice looking shoe, quality OK but comfort, not so much. I didn't rate the arch support because while it was quite built up, I couldn't say it was good.

Quite frankly...a little disappointed. I like the Vionic shoe inserts much better. While the footbed (arch) is supportive, the shoe itself is not. My perfect combination is the Vionic insert inside a NB 812.

Okay...just okay. I need great arches for my plantar fasciitis. These are good in the arch, but are very heavy.

I was disappointed with these shoes. I have Vionic Tide II sandals which have excellent arch support and are very comfortable on my arthritic feet with plantar fasciitis and bunions. So I had high hopes for these shoes. However, there isn't enough arch support, not enough padding in the soles, they look ugly on my feet, shoe laces are too long, too wide in the heel area and they don't seem to be of good enough quality to warrant the price. Also, the "tongue" is too long and comes up too high onto the front of my leg. I don't wear them unless I'm wearing pants that cover most of the shoe. The only reason I kept them was because I was able to take out the insole and put in an orthotic with better arch support. They were the only shoes I could find that was able to accommodate the orthotics and still be comfortable enough on my feet.

I have the kind of feet that were really hunting for this type of arch support, so I had no need to break these in gradually, wore them a full day right out of the box. I almost ordered a second pair right away but didn't because there is a piece of untrimmed material up in the shoe between the lacing area and the toe, which bothers my foot, and is impossible to reach with any scissors. Also, I found after wearing them 3 or 4 times, the arch support seemed to go down a bit. Today I can push this down with my finger, so how is it going to hold up to the weight of my body? I think these probably USED to be super shoes, but I suspect the quality of materials and manufacturing is quietly and slowly being degraded to cut costs. Zappos gets five stars for service, as usual, but much as I'd like to do that for these shoe, I will probably try another brand, maybe made in U.S. for my next pair. As far as sizing, 5 1/2 W is the size that fits me perfectly but is hard to find, so I buy 6B's in pricey shoes. Today I buy 6 1/2 B's, because most cheap 6B's don't fit. I bought a 6B in this shoe, perfect fit, which makes me say it might be a bit wide, as compared to what you pick up as 6B in most stores today.

I bought these shoes because I suffer with plantar fasciitis in addition to a bone spur on my heel and also I work as waitress. They keep my feet aligned and I can walk for long period without feeling any pain. They do not have the grip necessary to prevent slips especially if you walk in a grease and wet floor such as restaurant kitchen. That is not safe at all. I had to change the shoes after a couple of hours running from the kitchen to dinning room. I recommend them if you are completely sure that you will not be walking in any environment that requires a good grip to prevent slip and falls. Otherwise look for something else.

Not as much support as I expected. Dr. Scholl's insoles work better. However, the sandals I previously purchased are very comfortable.

Felt good at first but then after walking a few miles, my legs were aching/tired. I think the shoes are too heavy but they are comfortable for the first mile or two. I walk 7 miles a day so I am experienced and advise Vionic to make the shoes less cumbersome and more light weight. I have gone back to my New Balance with pleasure.

I need a shoe that supports my high arches and pronation, but it must also be well cushioned for my metatarsalgia, which is mandatory.
This shoe felt wonderful the first week, but lost its cushioning under my forefoot soon afterwards. I will not buy these again. Drew makes a better shoe for metatarsalgia.

I've really enjoyed my other two pairs of Orthaheel shoes (flip flops and slippers) but I found that the Vionic walker sneakers do not have enough cushion in the foot bed thereby causing discomfort, especially with long-term wear. I did find the wide width to be true to size.

I love these shoes--great for walking. But after about 2 months, they SQUEAK. I hate that. I can't wear them to work because they make so much noise. So I only use them when I walk my dogs in the morning. Other than that, great shoes.

I was looking for a shoe which provided stability for my ankles, which these provided, but the arch support was very uncomfortable -- too rigid and maybe too high.

Really wanted these shoe to work for me. For two years, I've only worn Orthaheel shoes (arch support due to plantar fasciitis) mostly sandals because I'm good with the same footbed, for it fits me perfectly. I even walk on the treadmill in the slippers. The Walker does have a great arch support so I didn't get plantar pain. But...the section for the ball of the foot is very hard so I'm trying to add some cushioning. Also, I developed knee pain after using these shoes for walking. I've put in a gel cup in the heel for some more cushioning. I do wish these shoes had a sleeker look, and that Orthaheel would design some more attractive flats for other occasions.

Not sure what I think of these yet. Feel supportive and look more supportive than the Rhythym walker. Definitely a heavy, clunky shoe and the toe box is very wide - I ordered a 9 medium. Am going to order the Rhythym walker to compare and see. I love my Orthaheel clogs and am hoping to find another Orthaheel shoe in a sneaker and sandal that lives up to the clogs!

Zappos delivery and return was great when I had to get a different size. The black shoe leaks black on white socks. It is all leather so it would be too hot in the summer. The orhothedics in this shoe are not as good as the Vionic slippers.

Loved the look of this shoe and the fact the had room for my own insoles. I was impressed that the shoe came with a guarantee to wear the shoe for a month and if you were unsatisfied, you could return for refund. Wow! The left shoe actually felt like it was mismatched for this pair of shoes. I was much tighter. I would need an extra wide for this brand, unfortunately for me this brand does not come in extra wide.

The heel support in this shoe is amazing and I loved it; however, the ball of the foot had no cushion whatsoever. I really wanted to love these shoes but without that cushion under the ball of my foot, I couldn't keep them. Very cute and didn't look orthotic at all.

Was so hoping these would make my left foot feel better, but even though I ordered Wide, they seem more narrow. Don't come any wider so I guess I'll wear them around the house and hope they stretch out before I attempt to wear them to work.

This shoe is comfortable. I have heel pain and wearing this shoe when walking is definitely helping. Here's what I don't like though. The shoe is not very attractive, which I can overlook, but it has started squeaking! And that is highly annoying.
