Cute, but the arch support (I have very high arches) was so hard that it was uncomfortable for my feet.

Runs large and is definitely for those who have pronation problems. I have supination issues so did not work well.

I knew from other reviews that these run big, but since they don't come in half sizes I went with my regular 9. They were enormous. So I sent them back and got the 8. They fit perfectly as far as the size. However, I still did not like these at all for me. I have Orthaheel boots and find them very comfortable , but these made me feel like my ankles were being totally pushed out of whack. I see on the tag they are supposed to correct over-pronation, and I'm an under-pronator, so that makes sense they were just making my problem worse. Strange though that their regular shoes work great for me. Oh well, these are going back.

This shoe runs wide and fell off my feet when I walked. I ordered a pair of the slippers at the same time and ordered a size down. Those fit me okay.

At first the sandal felt a little odd but you do get used to it. A big plus is that my feet don't feel tired after a long day of errands.

I was hopeful this sandal would help relieve knee pain. I'll never know if it would have because the cloth toe strap was so extremely uncomfortable and caused blisters. I've always been able to tolerate toe straps well, until I tried this flip flop.

This is my first pair of Orthaheels, purchased over a month ago and worn nearly daily for some period of time. As others noted, it took a few days to adjust to the sculptured soles, I now find they provide excellent support and the soles are comfortable. Overall though I do not find the Tides THAT comfortable. For me the straps are just a bit too wide and do not feel broken in. Also, the material of the sole is quite firm so the Tides do not bend and are not easy to drive in for more than short distances. For me the Tides are fine for puttering around house and garden but not long walks.

I bought these because of the positive reviews for this brand and occasional heel pain. I have very high arches and supinate (roll outward) instead of pronate (roll inward). The arch support is so high that it pushes me out and is not comfortable. I think it would be excellent support for those with moderate to low arches. Because the recommendations included with the shoe said it would take a few days to get accustomed to the feel, I wore them too much to return. I still wear them if I know I don't have to walk too much. It's a very nice looking thong sandal.

I have flat feet and bunions and experience a lot of foot and leg pain. I have just discovered Orthaheel. I have had these for a just a few weeks and only time will tell if these help relieve my foot/leg pain. They do seem to provide a lot of arch support. I wish they had better styling though. These look like my husband's beach slippers but I'm keeping them because I don't have any other choice in flip-flops for flat feet. I wish these had a thinner strap so they didn't look like men's slippers.

Many people liked the feel of the high arch in this shoe. I thought it was totally uncomfortable like a big bump and couldn't imagine ever getting used to it. Besides that it was too wide in the toe area and didn't look good on my foot.

I love Orthaheel products, but they don't work well with my wide feet. I usually wear an 8. I have these in an 8 and they are too big, the footbed is too big. So I thought I'd try these in a 7 seeing as they don't come in half sizes. No such luck. The footbed fits my foot perfectly except for the fact that my little toe hangs off slightly. It's enough for me to say they are going back, even though i see people walking around with their little toe hanging off all the time. Very sad but not giving up! But these are going back.

I have a number of foot problems and have had two surgeries in the last two years. Finding comfortable flip-flops is very difficult because I need a lot of support. The Orthaheel is okay, but I find Fit Flops much more comfortable.

I have tried this shoe twice now because I want to love it so much, because of the arch support. But alas, the lack of cushioning and stiff bottom means it has to go back again. The arch support is amazing, especially for my wide foot, and the straps on top are comfortable. However, they don't cover enough of the foot to keep it stabilized when walking. The dotted pattern on the bottom is actually hard and caused some pain. There is no flexibility to the shoe, so instead of flip flopping, you have to kind of smack clomp, smack clomp. There is no cushioning on the bottom either, so you aren't really protected walking any distance and the ball of your foot gets tired smacking the ground at a flat angle because the shoe doesn't flex at all.

The arch and heel bed are awesome but the straps are too tall and don't hold the shoe against my foot. I think because they're made in unisex sizing they're just not going to fit properly.

This sandal had an extremely high arch, and while it was a bit wider than the 8 Ariel by Orthaheel,it was not as wide as I expected from other reviews, and it felt tight. I'm normally an 8 or 8.5, sometimes a wide. I do have pronation, but the arches on these sandals dramatically exacerbated my pronation, to the point where my knees actually hurt. I've never had that happen from shoes or inserts before. The arches are very high. Unlike the Ariel sandal, this has a rubbery footbed inside the shoe, too. This would have been a huge plus for my needs. Not super cute in person, despite my hopes of looking a bit more like the Ariel. Sending it back, mostly due to the extreme arches.

I loved all the praise for this shoe, and wanted to love it. The arch support is amazing, but the shoe has no cushion or flexibility, so walking is difficult, especially with stiff straps that don't allow the shoe to form to your fit in any way. The best part about this shoe is again, the arch support, but you also need thicker straps to keep the foot from moving and staying aligned. Your foot has too much freedom of motion to make these stable, and there isn't enough cushioning to make it comfortable for walking any distance.

I wonder if Orthaheel recently changed the Tide (changing tides?). So many reviews commented on how wide this shoe was, yet my pinky toes were hanging off (I wear a normal width). I went up a size, and still had the same issue. If you are narrow across the toes, these might work for you. Sadly, I had to return them (black).

It was too wide for me in the toes, and my feet slipped around. I wouldn't be able to get a smaller size though because I was already almost hanging off the back of the shoe. I wish they cam in half sizes or narrower styles. Otherwise, it was divinely comfortable when I wasn't trying to walk!

I've had a pair of these for three years and found them to be very comfortable for wearing around the house. I have problems with Achilles tendonitis and although I'm not supposed to wear flip-flops, the built-in arch and heel support in these felt pretty good. I wouldn't wear them for extensive walking, however, as they run fairly wide and your feet slip around in them, resulting in blisters after any distance. The footbed began to get a little smelly so I ordered a replacement pair. Unfortunately, the fit was very different this time around. In addition to being wide, which I expected, there is way too much space between the footbed and the straps, so that I cannot even keep them on my feet when walking. (I guess what I'm saying is that the toe thong is too long?)

This is the fourth pair of Orthaheels that I've bought, and so far the only pair I haven't been thrilled with. They look great and feel incredibly supportive, but they feel awfully heavy for flip-flops and after an hour or two of wearing them around the house I wasn't looking forward to breaking them in. I'm willing to put up with a little soreness for more stylish sandals (like the very cute Fleur IIs), but for basic flip-flops I want something I can put on and forget about. I have some Spenco slides with much lighter soles, so I guess I've been spoiled by the comfort of those (and like my other Orthaheels, they've been good for my plantar fasciitis). So I'm exchanging these Orthaheel Tides for a pair of Spenco Yumis, which are a little uglier, but for active summer wear they'll do the trick.

Two years ago I brought this sandal in gold and wore it for 2 summers. It was perfect. This year I ordered white in the same size, but it is much wider than my old pair, so not a perfect fit. I can't use a smaller size, but I need the arch support so kept this pair even though the width is a problem.

These sandals would probably be good for someone with a wider thicker foot. They are simply overly large for my feet even though I ordered a size 10 which is my usual size. The length was fine really but there is no way I could walk in these as they flop around on my feet. I LOVE the Orthaheel Mojave which are adjustable and have great support.

My arches have fallen halfway and I'm trying to save the rest of my arch from caving in. I am also starting to develop plantar fasciitis and over the past year, have learned that I can't even go barefoot in the house before suffering from foot arch and heel pain. I've been eyeing the Tide sandals for a while and was hoping that Orthaheel would be my solution to needing a supportive, yet cute sandal and flip flop. After trying them in the house for several days, I must say that the arch support is wonderful! It's not too hard where it's painful to walk but it is much more supportive than the soft, cushiony support type of shoes that your feet just crush the arches and leave you with no support in the end. Orthaheels are soft but yet, still firm enough to hold shape. The thong part however that goes between your toes are painful. I'm trying to break them in and make them looser by wearing them in hopes that they'll stretch just a bit but I'm having to put band aids between my toes to avoid blisters from developing. For the price, I wish they made a softer material on the thong part of the flip flop but considering that I am desperate to find a shoe that supports my arches, I'm going to try to work with them. Again, for the price of 'flip flops' I wish they'd make a pair that was perfect straight out of the box...maybe in the near future, they will. I wrote to Orthaheel to inquire about which sandal / flip flop would be more comfortable on top, more adjustable or 'longer' in the thong portion and the only thing they recommended was to try the Layla sandal since the top is adjustable. Considering the lukewarm reviews on that particular sandal, I'm going to pass...most people claimed that the buckle was in an awkward place on the foot and that your feet slide around in them really bad. If that's the case, then the supportive arch won't be in the right spot and I would imagine, be really uncomfortable. So while I'm trying to work with them, I'm still searching for the perfect sandal and flip flop!

Unfortunately, on my feet the arch support hits in the wrong place. I have high arches and was excited to try these because of the design, but I could only wear them a few times before I gave up. Be aware that if they don't fit the bottom of your foot perfectly out of the box, they aren't worth keeping.

I have wider, flat feet but gave these a try because others said they had wide feet and these worked fine. They were just too tight for me. I tried the 9 which is my regular size and they were just a bit too short in length. I tried the 10. They were a little long but probably would have been fine. They were just still too tight in the width. The bands are very stiff. I'm sure they give good support if they fit properly. They would have just dug into my foot. I could feel it just walking around the kitchen. The sole felt good on my heel and arch. Good support. Good, casual flip flops, just not the right fit for my feet.
