Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)

I bought this boot 5 years ago (Nov. 2012) and it's still in great shape. It's still waterproof and has most, of not all of its tread. I only do a few hikes each year so read ware may be minimal compared to many avid hikers, but the pair of Danners I had prior to this were worn down to a completely smooth bottom in less time than one owned these. Like all my shoes, I put Superfeet in them right away, so I can't give much opinion on the built in arch support but they do fit well with the superfeet in them. I also wear a 2E most of the time due to a wide front foot (think of a duck's foot) and these do not feel crowded in the toe box.
I'd also recommend:
Danner vibram superfeet

I loved these boots, they were super comfortable right out of the box. That being said after roughly 5 months of wear the sole started separating on both shoes. I have never had this happen with a pair of work boots. Keen stands behind their product and they did replace them under warranty. I chose a pair of boots with Goodyear welt to prevent the same problem from occurring.

I bought these for work, have worn them now for 2 weeks and they feel good on my feet. I previously broke me foot and need a wide boot. The right boot fits just fine, have an issue with my left because of the break but that's unavoidable. Hope as they wear in, comfort will develop in left boot as well.

After purchasing a different brand boot for several years that seemed to suffer from quality issues the CSR suggested this one. It has turned out great and will continue to be the go to work boot.

After long days of hauling lumber, climbing ladders and generally being on my feet, my heels and calves woudl hurt a great deal. With these boots, those problems are a thing of the past!

The keen utility Pittsburgh boot is by far one of the more comfortable boots I've purchased over all the years with no break in necessary. Had a problem with the first pair of boots the right boot tow bed was not right on my foot called Zappos and they had another one sent to me the next day unbelievable customer service.

I purchased these Keens to replace my Red Wings. My last two pairs of Red Wings disappointed me because the stitching on the heal came undone prematurely. These Keens are very comfortable right out of the box and only time will if they hold up to everyday abuse! My Zappos experience has been awesome! Great selection of products and very prompt service.

I work at a warehouse as a Yard Driver and I have owned at least 3 pairs of these Keen boots. They can withstand all the elements as I have to continue moving trailers no matter what the weather is outside. They probably last me an average of 7+ months due to heavy use and I consider them worth every penny.

I am 6'4", 320lbs. 42 years old. I have done years in machine shops and some times as a 48 states trucker. I have used these boots for both jobs. I wear a size 14 wide, steel toe. These boys fit great. Better than great. My feet have been arthritic for twenty years. Left foot is flat. Right foot has a high arch. Right ankle twists outward to the right side with toes that are crooked and bent up. I have worn many of the big brands of work boots, with or without prescription orthotics. Red Wing, Worx, Rockies, Bates, Danner etc. I've worn many of the cheaper brands as well. Cat, Dickies, Walmart etc. But Keen is number one in my book. Its nice wearing boots that have no break-in period. No other boots have the great fit of a Keen. I felt the quality right out of the box. The footbed is curvy and feels easy going on my feet. The boots fit both of my feet great. The lace-up style offers the different fits that I require. When I stand up, these boots are rock solid and very supportive all the way around. If I pick up a 100 lb. tool box, they still don't flinch. Hard to believe, that a boot that works great for hiking, is so tough. If you need them to be supportive they never give. Yet when I need to bend and flex they move with me. That's pretty damn interesting, how they did that. Excellent design. They don't scuff. They are *very* waterproof. When I get out of the semi truck at 10°F and step in ice slush up to my ankles, its no problem. Even after doing that off and on the entire shift. And by shift I mean 12 to 24 hours. Puddles, mud, oil slicks, grease spots, harsh chemicals, nails, glass, metal scrap, coolant. I quit worrying after a month. Even after wearing the same pair for two+ years, I only found two weaknesses. Number one, if the water is above the top of the boot, it will get in. My fault. Number two, don't blow a compressed air gun at point blank range when there are fine, sharp metal shavings laying on top of the mesh area. It will push the shavings through the fabric and compromise the waterproof lining. My fault again. My suggestion for machinists and of course welders, is to get one of the all leather Keen boots. Other than those two things, I found no weaknesses. They breathe decent in hot weather, because of that fabric tongue. Yet they are warm in the icy winters. My feet don't feel clammy in the winter, like the all leather, three hundred dollar boots do. How did they do that? My feet feel great. The metatomical footbed is a godsend. No rub spots on my messed up feet. I put insoles in, but its not necessary. Apparently you can't improve on perfection. I can't believe how tough the leather is. The rubber toe cap is very thick and durable. It doesn't scuff when I'm crawling under a truck on asphalt or concrete. Its nice knowing I can kick off the snow and mud against the truck step or a building wall without damaging the toe. I also never feel it when I kick something, they are very padded inside. The inside of the toe box is big. Lots of room for my crooked toes. The traction on the soles is great. I don't slip on oil or loose gravel. I thought the tread was wearing fast at first, but they still have plenty of wear left after two years. My ankles are stabilized. Oh my God, the stability. I mis-stepped a couple of times and had I been wearing a different boot, I would have gone off the edge. Thanks for saving my ass, Keen. If my ankle gets stuck between rocks or peices of steel, I don't feel it. Yet they are flexible. These are the toughest heels. Armored. But they are soft and curvy inside and have never rubbed me wrong. The laces never broke. The eyelets and top hooks never broke or even bent. I bought the black ones that had the yellow on them, but I think the brown with red accents are probably the coolest looking. I will get those next. I'm going to stick with Keen. I beat them up pretty good, but they could take a lot more. Thank you Keen for a superior product. Zappos is the best on customer service and delivery. I have placed many orders with them and I will continue to do so.

This was a bit tight so I had to get the wide version. It was very comfortable and didn't take any breaking in time. So far I have not been cold or wet trekking through snow and mud.

I have been working construction for over 30 years and can honestly say that these boots are probably the best that I have tried so far. I just purchased my third pair and have no regrets in doing so. I had knee and back ailments with other boots but the Pittsburghs have helped tremendously and keep my feet comfortable all day long. You could buy cheaper pairs of boots for but when it comes to your feet and comfort I think they are worth the money. Good luck!

I wore these boots for week's worth of Winter hiking in the Utah CanyonLands. I carried a 30 pound backpack and found these boots to be rugged enough for rocky trails and very comfortable. I am very happy with them. I normally wear Merrell but having been happy with wearing Keen sandals for a long time and thought I'd take a chance on their boots. I am glad I made this choice.

I am very happy with my shoes, very comfortable and totally worth the money. I never considered the weight of the shoe and that was a pleasant surprise how light they are. They look cool too.

If you a plumber or work around water all day these are for you. I'm a new construction/commercial plumber by trade and these boots ROCK! Traction: Great for wet Concrete for or mud. Comfort: They were extremely comfortable the day I first put them on and have excellent arch support. The steel toe does not pinch or hurt toes. Great ankle support. Waterproof: I stand in up to 3" of water everyday and my feet stay dry, enough said! I've owned Red Wings, Timberland Pros, Caterpillars and Georgia boots and these Keens are by far my favorites. I would recommend these to anyone who works in the trades. And buying them through Zappos makes this boot even better. 365 return policy and free shipping. 5 out of 5 stars.

My new job required a safety shoe. These are the first steel toed boots I have had to purchase in many years. I normally like to wear a hiking shoe or boot due to support and comfort. These boots amazing and feel like I am wearing a slightly heavier hiking boot. Lots of flexibility and comfort.

I do landscaping and tree work and have found these shoes to be durable and not too clunky considering the steel toe.

Amazing boots. Wore them 5 days straight working my new job at the Airport and they felt great. Didn't need a break in period. Comfortable from the moment I put them on. Not heavy. Waterproof. Not too hot either. Very Happy I bout them, and will buy another pair when I need to.

About six weeks in with these boots and I have to say they are BY FAR the most comfortable I've EVER owned including regular street wear without the safety toe. I did have to return the first pair due to a sizing issue. These run a half size too big for me.

Light weight, no break in felt great right off the bat.Every year I buy Keen boots for work from Zappos, happy with the brand, still wonder how you ship things so fast! I will never drive into town to buy shoes/boots again, the only drawback is they are made in China, and I try not to buy from that country, I am happy with the way the way the boots are made, and I think they will hold up.

Awesome shoes. Bought these for work. After a day on my 50 year old feet I still feel great. My only word of caution, if you buy them in the size you normally wear they may be too big on your feet. I had to send mine back for a smaller size. Zappo's makes that as painless as possible. Recommended them to a so worker and he loves them as we'll. seem to be very durable as we'll so far.

Boot is pretty comfortable. I wear a 3E wide shoes. A little snug but better than the other shoes I ordered. I rated this shoe as "Moderate arch support" because I really cannot tell the difference. I also like the look of the boot.
