As my diabetic neuropathy became worse over the years Propets were no longer wearable for long periods of time. So I ordered 9 different walking shoes and these stood out as wonderfully comfortable and supportive. Find shoes that fit my feet has always been my problem, now my problem is my hips, knees and feet...NB WW577 Hook & Loop has been my solution. My first ever pair of NB's and am I amazed! What a comfortable shoe. Per my Drs orders I expect to be ordering a new pair every 6 months for the rest of my life.

For me, this shoe ran small. I ordered three sizes - 8.5B, 8.5W, and 9.0B. On the first try, the 8.5B felt deceptively comfortable. But then I noticed that my right big toe kept grazing the toe box ever so slightly every time I stepped forward. Walking back and forth on the carpet, I almost missed it. But then I stepped onto the linoleum in my kitchen, and realized that testing a shoe on a hard surface really makes a difference. Because the shock and impact is greater, I think my foot moves forward within the shoe more. After imagining my right toe ramming up against the box all day, I decided the 9.0B was worth a try. The toe box was much roomier, and my toes did not subconsciously curl up or graze against the shoe. I would highly recommend anyone considering this shoe to buy both your regular size, and the next size up. As for the 8.5W, that pair felt too wide from the moment I tried it on.

I needed a larger size than usual, but the width was good. This is a very comfortable shoe that really does cushion my feet whether I am standing or walking.

These work well to accommodate my ankle/foot orthosis. Nice wide box and easy closure. Not dainty but nice and stable.

Great shoes! They are well cushioned so I can wear them on windy and cold days when the weather reached 27F. They are so comfortable ! No wonder why my husband and my son-in-law they all wear the New Balance shoes. Highly recommended for feet problems sufferers.

I am first time Zappos customer. I was looking for wide width shoes for my mother in law. It was difficult till I found these. Great shoe, great price, great delivery. Will definitely shop Zappos again.

Bought these for our mentally handicapped daughter who is getting older and was tired of tying her shoes, she loved these and they were a perfect fit.

The biggest problem I had with this style was that the tongue is long and pressed into my leg when I took a step. Otherwise, seemed like a nice shoe.

The New Balance brand was recommended by my physical therapist as a good shoe to accommodate the custom orthotics I was to begin using. While it took a couple of tries to find the proper size and width, Zappos made the return process easy, and, once I found the right fit I was amazed at how comfortable this shoe was. I love walking but because of fallen arches and other foot problems, I was finding it increasingly painful to walk distances. The New Balance WW577 stabilizes and supports my feet so well that I can stand and walk all day with no discomfort. And, although I purchased these shoes to wear with an orthotic, I've found that they provide sufficient support alone. The hook and loop design make them easy to get on and off. I've been wearing them almost exclusively for about a month and they are sturdy and hold up well. One observation about the fit: I found that I needed a half size longer and a wider width than I normally wear. But now that I've found the proper fit, I will be a Zappos and New Balance customer for life.

It's a great shoe that comes in narrow sizes. I got the hook and loop because I had back surgery and was not allowed to bend over.

I ordered these for my 88 year old mom, and they are to tight. I had bought her a paid in white in the exact same size but the black are just to tight, maybe the tag is wrong.

First of all I want to say how very pleased I am with Zappos. They are wonderful to deal with and their customer service is exceptional. This was the latest pair of shoes which I have ordered from them and they are wonderful. They are true to size, comfortable and offer good solid support. Great walking shoe. I am going to order another pair of shoes today for a friend who doesn't have a computer but who was impressed with this company. I definitely will continue to order shoes from this site and will tell others about it.

Most comfortable shoes. I have rheumatoid arthritis and can never find comfy shoes until now. I love them and have just bought another identical pair.

These are comfortable shoes, though not quite as comfortable as Dr. Scholls. It didn't need a breaking in period.

I found these shoes too short and the heel was too wide for my narrow foot. I was surprised because I've been wearing other styles of New Balance for years. This is the first time I was disappointed with the fit.

I purchased these shoes since I needed supportive & easy-to-fasten shoes to wear while on crutches after surgery to repair a hamstring avulsion. Like all New Balance shoes, these fit my 9.5AA size foot perfectly. While I don't consider these to be fashion-forward, they are comfortable & were exactly what I needed during my recovery from surgery.

I bought these for my 91 year old mother in a nursing home. She needed something that was easy to get on and off for both herself trying to do it and the staff who needed to do it quickly. She likes the shoes. They are a little short in the toe area and though she didn't tell me till they were broken in, I would probably order a 9 1/2 next time or try a different shoe with a slightly wider toe box. She has 2 big toes that curl up, something she has always had which make it harder to get the shoes on and off but these are certainly easier on that score than tie shoes.

I have a narrow foot and New Balance is one of the few manufacturers that carry narrow, for which I am very grateful. The sneakers are of high quality, well made and durable. I've worn them for years and love them. I liked this style for the velcro closing; much easier than shoes laces. Good stuff, reasonably priced.

I am 86 years old and I love my New Balance Hook and Loop shoes very much. Your service is outstanding and I sure will recommend Zappos.com to anyone that needs new shoes. A very satisfied customer.

I needed a good walking shoe that I could put my orthotics in and either velcro or slip-ons due to several hand surgeries and this fit the bill.

Teeny tiny, did not fit my foot when 7M is my usual size. Would have to have purchased a 7W or 7 1/2.

I gave these shoes to my mother who was looking for comfortable, easy to get on and off shoes and in a narrow width. She was thrilled with these and has told all of her friends about them. They arrived the next day - awesome service.

I have been suffering with a chronic severely sprained ankle. I am takig therapy and foot felt worse after each treatment. My friend advised me that her Orthopedist said that the only sneaker that give support in Nu- Balance. For the first time in over six months I can walk without pain and foot doesn't hurt. I can't thank you enough.

I ordered these shoes for my senior mother-in-law as she was having trouble with tying laces. And in addition was having stability problems. They are just what was needed. Not the most stylish, and a bit clunky looking, but for her requirements: perfect!

Perhaps because they are a different style number, or perhaps because they are made in the USA and not in Indonesia, but this style is not true to size. I have wide feet and high arches and wear orthotics, so when I find shoes that fit, I buy several pair. I've had 3 other NB athletic shoes and an 8.5 measures 11.5-11.75 inches long by 4 1/4 - 4 6/8 inches at their widest. The 8.5 WW577 style I just bought - that is now going back - measures just 11.25 inches in length by 4 inches at the widest part. If I'd not bought 3 other pairs of NB shoes that I was happy with, I wouldn't bother to try another pair of NB shoes after trying these on. These will go back and I guess I'll go back to the older styles (#WX608V2W & WW576WT). While I can't wear these, my impression from trying them on is that they have less substance than those previous NB styles too.
