I had to return the shoe, I have a similar pair WW411 NB that are a perfect fit and comfortable, shoes but the WW577 was way to tight thought they would all fit the same!!!

Heavy and stiff leather! Very uncomfortable on my sensitive feet. The sides and top were hard and the insoles felt unsupportive. The velcro straps were too short, so I could barely get them to stay closed. Exchanged them for the 411v2 which are much more much flexible and comfortable.

i found this shoe to run abit small but the advantage of having the velcro strips and being able to buy them in narrow made them a wonderful purchase i live in a very small town in far west texas and finding a narrow shoe here is impossible i will definately buy this size and style again

This shoe style was disappointing. The tongue of the shoe was constructed in such a way that the fabric was bulky and intrusive on the inside. It made the shoe very uncomfortable. New Balance can do better than that as their other styles do not seem to have that issue. The shoe was chosen for a 93 year old senior citizen with difficulty fitting shoes. It seemed like a good option but we found that the propet company was certainly a better option.

Fit was fine, but inside of shoe was not comfortable. The junction of the tongue with the rest of the shoe was not comfortable.

The strap is way too short and the uncovered velcro frays my pants and gets stuck on furniture covers. It also looks ugly not stretching far enough to cover the fastener as shown in the illustration Sorry I bought it as I don't wear it as has ruined my pants.

Bought these for my 89 year old Mom. She had an old pair of New Balance (847's) and wanted a good walking shoe. Loved that these were real leather and had velcro so she could easily put on and take off. When they came in, she tried on and hated. She thought they were too stiff, and really thought the tongue was too stiff. We exchanged for the 847v2's and she is very happy. When I looked at this shoe, I didn't feel what Mom felt, but she was the one having to wear them. She does have really bad feet with bunions and hammertoes, so her issues may have been more than this shoe could "fix".

Upper of shoe is too stiff, pinches tops of feet when I walk. Interior has rough areas where tongue attaches. Straps are too short.

Unfortunately, the main criticism expressed in these reviews about the straps being too short, leaving a lot of velcro exposed, is true. I ordered a pair of these, hoping they'd be fine for me but when they arrived and I put them on, the stop strap on both shoes left a good 1 1/2 to 2 inches of velcro exposed. I don't have fat feet but I DO have high arches. Perhaps those who are having problems with the short straps are also those with high arches. Regardless, New Balance should make the straps long enough to cover the velcro with room to spare. Who wants to have their slacks snagged or socks caught on velcro? I'm disappointed because the shoes themselves feel quite comfy but with the velcro issue, they had to go back.

In spite of being listed as a Wide, Wide shoe this is not true to size, it's considerably narrower than a wide, wide shoe. I've been wearing these for about a week in the hopes they'd stretch a bit but no such luck. Next time I'll look at men's sneakers and hope they are a wider fit.

I purchased this sneaker for my elderly mother who needs a sturdy, easy to get on and off sneaker. This sneaker ran very small in size and width. Plus there was not enough length on the velcro closures to properly wear the shoe.

I ordered these in my usual size (11 medium) and it was like squeezing my feet in a vise. My toes were jammed against the front of the shoe. I returned them and reordered in a full size larger, and they did fit. However, the tongue is too long and it felt extremely uncomfortable jammed into the curve of my foot where it joins the leg. Another bad feature was the velcro strap across the instep. It didn't even reach halfway across, leaving a large patch of the hooked velcro exposed. I can just imagine the fuzz, threads, leaves, etc. that would get trapped in that material during normal wear. Extremely disappointing, as I've owned and loved New Balance sport shoes for years and was looking for a style with Velcro straps. I'd also add that the beige color at least looks decent, but the black color looks clunky and heavy. Even if they'd fit like a dream I would have returned the black. Unfortunately, I'm sending both back.

I normally wear a 10 WW shoe. Always purchase a 10.5 WW in athletic shoes. This 10.5 felt very short, more like a 9.5 shoe. My toe actually touched the end. It is also very narrow for a WW and felt more like a "C" width. The Velcro strap could not close the shoe. There was a gap on either side. I Love, Love, Love Zappos and I always try to buy shoes at Zappos first. Very sad the few times when I have to buy someplace else. I also buy many of my B'day gifts and some XMAS gifts and have them shipped directly from Zappos. Oh, did I already say - I Love Zappos for super, excellent customer service and tons of selection? Sorry these shoes did not work. Back to the drawing board (i.e., Zappos website)!

Bought these to go on a trip at least 1 year ago, didn't want to bother with laces plus needed a wide width for walking. When I got them they were fine, I even got a 2nd pair in black. Now that the hot weather is here, they are very uncomfortable. They don't breathe, I had to check on- line to see if they are leather, because the tag inside the shoe says only " imported material". I don't think they are really leather because even with a good wicking sock, in the heat my feet are sweating. Little arch support, which I didn't notice when I wore them in the Fall/ winter with a heavier sock. I'm not sure if I will keep them any more because by the end of the day, my feet are damp, stinky and hurting. I don't recommend them though they seemed Izk at first.

My husband calls these my Grandpa shoes but I LOVE THEM!!! I wear them at work and they are so comfortable for being on my feet and running around all day. I work in healthcare. They have great arch support for my big, high arch feet, and they take a lot of pressure off my low back pain. Plus they are so easy to put on. Excellent walking shoes and I think they're so ugly they're cute <3

The shoe is true to size but very heavy and unattractive.

Loved the style of the shoe; however, the tongue came too far up on my foot. Had to return the shoes.
