The shoe were comfort and giving for wide feet. The way the shoe is constructed, the shoe does not appear to be wide.

I ordered both the 10W & 10.5W,hoping one would fit. The width was fine in both, but the arch support did not support my arch where it was needed. The size 10, too short, width fine and the size 10.5, just poor fit for arch support.

New Balance has been a dream shoe for me up to this point. This shoe is too short and does not support my 'arch' in the right area. I'm going to exchange it for New Balance W940v3, SKU: #8769026 that fits, but hard to stand on. I hope it will break in nicely, if not, maybe barefoot.

Good toe room but the highest-up velcro strap and the tongue didn't fit right. Strap:too short. Tongue: too thick and unflexible, so the strap wouldn't go over it well.

Inside shoe seemed to have too long a tongue that felt uncomfortable on my toes. Might not be made right.

This pair of NB shoes is not my favorite. I tried a different walking shoe this time and they are not as comfortable as the ones I usually get from NB. They felt a little narrow in the front of the shoe. The arch support was not as good as other NB shoes.

I read the reviews on this style before ordering but decided to take a chance ordering it anyway. The reviews are correct. The shoes look huge like orthopedic shoes when on your feet even though the size is correct. If the style was streamlined somewhat, they would be great shoes.

Bought these shoes for my 84 year old mother who is looking for velcro closures. The left shoe slipped on the heel. Shoe appearance is very manly and ugly for a woman. It was wide in the toe.

Thought shoes were great until noticed tongue stitching is long & fabric folds off, becoming very uncomfortable. Cannot wear them

I ordered 3 pairs of this shoe. 2 initially to verify the size, and then another pair because the right side of the first pair that fit also squeaked when I walked. I have an orthotic so sometimes have this problem. So I ordered a second pair in the right size, hoping to put together a pair that didn't squeak. However, when I tried both shoes on, then I noticed that the tongue is sewn in a way that causes it to curl near the sewing; it was uncomfortable at best. Returning shoes. Maybe a different way of sewing the tongue in would help.

I'm slowly breaking them in. I got the 11 Wide, due to bunions. And the shoes gave me blisters for the first couple of days. Also the hook and loop isn't very long and doesn't fasten as well as hoped. It's okay, I'm not returning them, but I won't be buying these again. Miss being able to buy them through the stores - which no longer carry walking shoes -- due to the insane running/jogging trend.

Nice leather shoe. two major problems : the two straps across each foot that serve in lieu of laces are much too short. They do not stay hooked. The other issue is that tongues are so long they came close to brushing my kneecap. very disappointing, Just ordered a different brand, trying shoes with laces this time. Now I will knock on neighbors doors to get laces tied for me. That assumes that some of my neighbors have hands undamaged by arthritis. Life is complicated

I wear New Balance because I need a narrow width, and few waling shoes provide the width I need. This velcro closing shoe is convenient, however, for my high instep, the upper strap is a bit short.

I got these for power walking and have been a consistant NB wearer for many yrs. I wanted the ease of the Velcro but that didn't work out so well. These shoes gave me blisters on the top of my big toe on the right foot. That area of the shoe was very thick and unflexible. It rubbed a deep blister and I had to wear my old shoes for several weeks with a bandage, trying to get it to heal. After several weeks, the blister healed enough for me to wear the new shoes with a bandage for another week. Now I am wearing these shoes every day. I just never expected to have to break in a NB shoe. Also, when I put them on, it takes several adjustments to get the Velcro right for walking. The time I used to spend getting the tie style shoes adjusted is still taken up by the adjustments of the Velcro straps. Would not buy this style again.

Rather heavy for a walking shoe. Velcro didn't stick very well and it is a rather clunky-looking shoe. It does pad the foot when walking and is comfortable.

My first disappointment of a Zappos/New Balance purchase. I tried these out in the house, as is suggested, and they seemed to fit okay. But, after two 1 mile+ walks, one which was up and down hills and one on the flat...they pinch my left big toe. This surprises me as my left foot is smaller than the right and isn't usually a problem. I will use them for shopping and daily use, but still have to find a comfy shoe for my aerobic walks.

3rd pair, sending this pair back. Bought them in the beige, they wore out in less than 6 months. Have them in black, only wore in winter, they are acceptable size- wise (bought mainly for the hook & loop closure), a 7-1/2 wide. Clunky looking but "okay" for a quick put- on and walk the dog shoe. Now bought them in white, same size, too short. Generally uncomfortable all around, no support with thinner socks even. Can't get an athletic sock into them. Also, as noted in previous review, they are not " premium leather upper": part may be leather but they smell, look and feel more like some type of man-made material, definitely not leather. Not much in the way if support or arch. Still looking for a better made hook & loop closure shoe; tried Brooks (tie shoe okay, not the same style in hook & loop), about ready to give up and put on my Merrell's for Fall & Winter!

Overall pretty good shoe. I feel it's about a 1/2 size too small. Also felt the quality wasn't as good as other New Balance shoes.

I ordered a 10 for my mom based on review that said it runs short. But we don't think so. She wears a 9.5 narrow. These seem to be wide for narrows shoe would be great if it were a little less clunky.

Don't know what happened here. I've worn NBs from the SL2 last for at least 10 years, but the tops of the velcro straps on these W width shoes didn't fold even halfway over the upward-facing Velcro. They didn't feel as wide in the toe box as they always have, either. Is NB trying to save on materials to keep costs down? I say, "Why ruin a good thing?"

I found these shoes too short and the heel was too wide for my narrow foot. I was surprised because I've been wearing other styles of New Balance for years. This is the first time I was disappointed with the fit.

Perhaps because they are a different style number, or perhaps because they are made in the USA and not in Indonesia, but this style is not true to size. I have wide feet and high arches and wear orthotics, so when I find shoes that fit, I buy several pair. I've had 3 other NB athletic shoes and an 8.5 measures 11.5-11.75 inches long by 4 1/4 - 4 6/8 inches at their widest. The 8.5 WW577 style I just bought - that is now going back - measures just 11.25 inches in length by 4 inches at the widest part. If I'd not bought 3 other pairs of NB shoes that I was happy with, I wouldn't bother to try another pair of NB shoes after trying these on. These will go back and I guess I'll go back to the older styles (#WX608V2W & WW576WT). While I can't wear these, my impression from trying them on is that they have less substance than those previous NB styles too.
