This is the shoe that I transitioned into in the process of getting rid of plantar fasciitis, it appears forever, at least for several years now. What it lacks in beauty, it more than makes up for in keeping my feet and the rest of me active and healthy.

Very stiff and squeaky because it is so stiff. I ordered narrow, but the heal doesn't seem like a narrow.

The shoe looked great. It was a D width, and I could not get my foot in the shoe. I have worn a D for decades. I really like the looks of the shoe and it has great reviews so I swapped it for an EE. Zappos as usual was great with their returns policy.

I like these shoes. They're sturdy and fit well. I wear them for walking and for working in my garden. The biggest problem I have with ALL shoes of this type is that the shoelaces are way too long. I don't want to wrap them around my ankles, and I don't want to step on them and fall down. I have to either buy a pair of shorter laces or cut these laces with scissors. Whose "brilliant idea" was it to make the shoelaces ridiculously long?!?!?!?

The one issue I have with these sneakers is that they are a little high on the front of my ankle which has caused some discomfort. Perhaps once I have wear them a few more times this will seem less of an issue. I have very narrow feet, especially my a heels, so appreciate sneakers that fit me. I don't like Zappos bugging me for reviews every few days.

Appreciate the removable insole as I wear orthotics. Also being able to get my size in the WW. Have bought this shoe for years partly because of the Velcro closer. Am disappointed that the most recent model has shortened the Velcro. It looks adequate in the photo but when you actually put it on the Velcro doesn't cover across leaving an area that catches on my pants and eventually causes fraying of the fabric. Since I primarily wear pants, this is an issue. Otherwise the shoe is comfortable.

I am using this to tell you that I have sent my order back because I ordered the wrong width. The 2E is too narrow. If you could, could you please check incoming freight for my return and resend the size I made reference to the size I reordered. Thank you in advance for your help on this matter.

Works great with my custom orthotics, arrived with damaged shoe lace. Since this order was an exchange because the original size didn’t work Zappos won’t exchange them. Gave me 26. to go buy new laces or I can return them. Really poor customer service over a shoe lace IMO

Nice shoe, sizing is correct. Just wish they would have left the original style alone. I don't need the cushioning gel.

I have very wide feet and New Balance has always been a good brand for me. When I first opened the package, I have to admit that they reminded me a little of the shoes from "The Jimmy" episode of Seinfeld as they are very wide. But they are comfortable. I wish there were more cushioning, but overall they are fine, entirely adequate shoes.

Liked the looks, and the foot bed was comfortable, but all around the ankle it's too stiff. The tongue dug in in the front, and in the "points" at the back of the ankle, the folded seam of leather feels hard right through the fabric lining. Raising my foot by inserting an orthotic helped, but still not perfect, and at this price I didn't think I should have to do a lot of fussing with it.

I'm on my feet practically all day so a comfortable shoe is a must. I've been wearing New Balance for many many years but this is my first pair of 577v1.
They seem a little short for the size, and I would have liked the Velcro strap a little wider. Otherwise, the usual great New Balance shoe!

Very happy with the appearance of the shoe. The laces are way too long though. The width is comfortable but my toes push up against the front of the shoe. When I ordered them the description said they were 70% made in the USA which qualified as American made but when I received them they were made in Vietnam. I always supported New Balance because they were American made and I still do because I know some of the products are still made here but if the description says they're made in the USA the product should say the same.
