I own several different Merrell shoes and sneakers. This trekker runs small. I exchanged for half size larger, but still will not let me wear a thicker sock. It was comfortable from the beginning...no "break in" required. I will continue to buy Merrells.

I bought these hoping like my Merrel hiking shoe that they would be comfortable, durable, stable, and water resistant. I was hoping for these qualities so I could have a comfortable every day shoe that I could wear to work. Unfortunately they are outrageously slick. I work in food service so they are absolutely useless. They are also not water resistant at all, I have mesh running shoes that keep my feet drier. I was not very pleased with the color but they did fit great right out of the box without any break in period. I'm disappointed that I can't wear them at work since I bought them for work, but they are a decent walking shoe in dry weather.

First of all I ordered a size 8, it felt short, so I sent it back for an 8.5. Now these shoes feel too large, so I'm not a good judge of true size. Another problem is the laces. They are very thick and stiff, don't slide through the eyelets easily, so that I can't tighten them. I'm going to try a smaller lace, see if that works to get a tighter fit. Otherwise, the shoes are well built, designed for women's stance and stride. I should have kept the size 8. I would recommend walking around in the house for half a day or so, then decide.

Too pointy; too wide and clunky over arch and instep. And arch felt like it was poking me. Gonna keep trying!

I love the fit and style of these sneakers! Comfy for trail hiking and running. The only issue I have with them is that there is a small leak in the tow box and for this reason are not waterproof. Because I love the fit of these shoes and Merrell is a good company, I asked Zappos to send me anotehr pair of the same shoes to try again. I will test this second pair for waterproofness and will report back on the results.

Bought a size 8 in the dusty olive Moab waterproof shoe by Merrell. I returned for an 8.5. Make sure you get at least .5 size larger than what you wear. Shoe is very padded and loud when walking on hardwood floors. My husband has the same shoe in men's and says they aren't fully waterproof. Very warm shoe which doesn't allow the foot to breath. Most likely will be returning these for something else.

These would be 5 star but they are not actually water proof. Had them for 1 month and they did pretty well until a very dewy morning and walking in the grass. Shoe was soaked and so were my feet. Loved the comfort of the shoe but I cannot accept the fact that these waterproof shoes are actually not waterproof. Took them to the store and they said I need to spray them every month or so with water proofing...gave me a new pair and on I went. Sprayed the new ones that night and the next time I walked in dewy grass with new shoes, toes got wet. I give up. If you are looking for waterproof shoes look elsewhere.

Seemed like good shoes but were way too small. I would order probably a whole size up to replace, but they aren't in stock right now.

These shoes seemed a little small to me. I normally wear a 6.5, but ordered a 7 and I still did not have enough extra room in the toes. They are also very hard. I wore them around the house for a few days and they were ok. Yesterday I hiked 4 miles in them and my feet are sore! They look great though, and they were nice and stable and grippy. I wish I hadn't bought them. I won't hike in them again.

I like the look of these... The top of the shoe is very well padded... I don't feel the support under foot though... And the sole of the shoe does not hold traction on mossy bricks and rocks.

Had this shoe fit, it would have been a keeper, but it was too small. Other buyers recommended ordering a size larger than normal, but I didn't listen. Should have tried it because this felt like it was a half size - maybe even a full size small. Length and width. So ... it's being returned. I love the style and there's ample padding around the ankle and tongue to make this shoe very comfortable. I ordered the granite color and LOVE it! Too bad it's going back and I don't think I'll try a larger size. I think the heel will slip a bunch should I do that. So... I'll keep looking for a water resistant/waterproof athletic shoe with a wide foot and normal heel. So far, after trying several different shoes, no luck.

The inside padding on this shoe seems to make my foot turn out on each side, and my feet pronate that way. The arch did not hit right although the toe box feels good, I have a bunion developing on my left toe. They are heavier than the Keen hikers I need to replace.

I had Merrell Moab shoes a few years ago and thought they were very comfortable and ordered them again because I walk on a trail in a flood zone often and every time it rains there are lots of unavoidable puddles to walk through, some at least two inches deep. However, I think I am so addicted to my lightweight Nike shoes, think they were called flyknit, didn't see them anymore online, that when I got the new Merrell Moab shoes they felt like I was putting a big box on my foot that was stiff and very uncomfortable and the arch support did not seem very good to me. I own some Merrell clogs that I find very comfortable, and usually like Merrell shoes. My Nike shoes are so lightweight, flexible and wonderful summer walking shoes for me, but they are not waterproof, so wanted a durable pair to wear after rainy days, but sent them back, just didn't feel comfortable after wearing the wonderfully light weight and flex with my foot Nike shoes. In the winter I usually wear my leather Keen boots for colder weather and they are also waterproof. They are almost flat heeled with a flexible sole and like my Nike shoes are very comfortable (unfortunately, did not see them online anymore either). Maybe I will look for a lighter weight running shoe (I use running shoes for my long walks) that is also waterproof, if they make any like that.

I was looking for a supportive shoe for work, so I picked the Moab in Dusty Olive. My husband loves Merrells, I've never tried them before. First of all the color was lighter than I expected, more of a khaki, so I wasn't a fan. The arch and other support areas in the sole didn't match up with my feet. I typically don't have this problem, but maybe it's just trying a new brand. Better luck next time.

Nice shoe. Seems a little narrow and the arch support is moderate. Wish the arch was higher. Bought shoe due to reviews and a little disappointed.

I am not impressed with these shoes. I have narrow heels and while they do fit well there without slippage, the toe box is way too confining, and the lacing system makes it difficult to achieve that perfect, not to tight but secure, fit. I also find the sole insufficiently stiff for real hiking. For beating around, I think they'd be fine. They definitely run at least a half size, and perhaps a full size too large.

These feel about a 1/2 size smaller, due no doubt to the extra waterproofing layer. They also felt a bit narrower overall than the regular Moab. So I'm keeping the regular Moabs (on my second pair after a year of heavy use) and returning these.

These shoes were perfect until they developed lumps under the Gortex sock liner! After shaking them, partially pulling out the liner, I discovered there was about a Tablespoon of sand in each shoe trapped between the liner and the shoebody. I am guessing it passed through the mesh top part of the shoes. I have no way to get it out and these perfectly good shoes are useless. I did invert them, hit them against a hard surface and a little came out. I do walk on the beach.

I was surprised I didn't love these as much as all the other reviewers. They run really small--I am a 10-1/2 and the 11 had me hitting the front of the shoe. They also seem to run narrow. And then there's the look. Admittedly it is difficult to get a trimish-looking hiker in my size, but I thought these were particularly clunky-looking. Perhaps it is the rose color that I ordered--the color is more pow than pictured. I am giving them a 3-star review because they're probably waterproof and clearly are made well. I'm going to keep shopping.

I ordered these shoes to wear on an upcoming vacation. I normally wear a size 8, but upon arrival, I discovered I needed an 8.5. Zappos had the 8.5 at my door the very next day. Love their customer service! The 8.5 was cute and mostly comfortable, but after wearing the shoes around the house for a couple of weekends, I decided I was never going to be able to keep them tied tightly enough to suit me, so I returned them.

These shoes were a miss for me. They were too stiff, did not have adequate shock absorption and gave me blisters right off the bat. I didn't even hike far in these -- only about 5 miles -- and my feet were sore.

I have loved Merrell shoes in the past, but find that the angle of the sole pushes my knees to the center and puts an odd strain on the back of my legs. I have tried to correct it with shoe inserts, but it doesn't help. Just wearing them around the house, I can tell that they don't work with me ergonomically. Sigh.

I've been looking for a hiking shoe with good traction and stability to replace my beloved Teva Event which I can no longer find anywhere. There's a new model our with a similar name but it doesn't compare to the older previous model.Although I've been an avid walker my search was primarily for stability, sure footedness to walk my athletic puppy of 50 lbs in any kind of weather. Other folks' reviews of the Merrell Moab was helpful, saying they found the shoe stiff and heavy. This is what I needed. I found other models didn't give me the stability I need when walking the dog.

So I read almost every review and was so excited about buying these shoes because people said they were wide in the toe, they were able to do big hikes right away with out getting blisters and they were amazing shoes. Well I bought a 7.5 and I am usually a 6.5 and thank goodness I did because a 7 would never fit. Tight in the toes pretty comfy at first so I kept them and went on a 2 mile hike and, oh my gosh, my poor feet! I should have not been dumb and sent them back.

I loved these shoes, until they went onto my feet. Unfortunately, where the shoe bends presses into the top of my foot and is extremely uncomfortable. I adore every pair of Merrells I own and was disappointed these didn't work for me. I love the look of them and the support was great. I'm getting the Calia instead. More comfortable, but not quite as attractive a shoe in my opinion.
