What's happening here?? I'm usually a 6 (which makes it already difficult to buy shoes) but the 5.5 was a FULL SIZE too large. I literally could have put on 8 pairs of socks and still had plenty of wiggle room. How is this possible? What a disappointment. Otherwise, a beautiful shoe.

These boots are beautiful and were comfortable when I tried them on but a little small. I am returning them because they run on the small size but also because they were clearly worn by someone else. The bottoms were very scuffed and there was a clear indentation on the top of the boot from the big toe of the prior owner.

This is a beautiful boot. I needed something with good ankle support for fall/winter that I could ware with dresses and skirts along with pants and jeans. This boot fit the bill! They are a bit snug in width but my experience with Fry is they will stretch with wear. I've made the mistake of purchasing larger Fryes that just ended up being big an floppy once worn in. Yes, they are pricy but they are very well made and will last many seasons.

Very comfortable, I can last on my feet all day in these. The leather quality is the only part that I don't just love. It is a lower quality than I am used to from Frye. Still a go-to shoe.

This shoe in person doesn't have the length in the toe box or width that may appear in the photo, and pinches my toes a little. I'm normally a 7 1/2 M, but in a boot I go up to an 8 ...should have gone up another size w/ these so my winter socks would be more cozy. Since it is leather they should break in well just not as fast as I'd like. I love Frye, but this pair of boots weren't made as well as my first, these felt as though they had a twisted sole.

Very nice boot but far too narrow. I haven't had this problem with any of my other Frye shoes or boots. It's a shame - they have to go back.

Really beautiful boots. Comfy right away. Easy to tie. Only concern is the slippery bottoms, which I plan to consult my shoemaker about.

I ordered these in the Cognac color. The boots were a bit darker and less distressed than what's pictured, but extremely comfortable. I ordered a half size larger than what I normally wear, since my feet are a but wide and these boots come on the narrow side. Very good craftsmanship, but wish the price was just a little bit lower.

I can range anywhere from an 8 to a 9, have narrow feet, and thinner ankles than most. I went with an 8 1/2 based on reviews. The boots are about half an inch longer than I'd like, but feel snug in width which led me to stay with the longer 8 1/2. The taupe leather is so beautiful -- a little more peach in person than the pictures here show -- but for the better. Perfect, simple styling that I have found to be perfect for my office job, but still hip enough for my night job at a music venue.

I bought a pair of the Carson Lace Up a few years ago and they have been a great favorite. I decided to buy another pair in a different color (dark brown) and the fit is now completely different. I like the color, and the length is fine, but the shoe is really narrow, to the point of discomfort. Also, they don't seem to be as well made as my other pair (Frye has been bought out, so this might explain the drop in quality). Reluctantly, I'll be sending these back.

I would have kept these if they had actually been in Cognac Soft Leather. They were slightly more taupe colored and they were NOT the soft leather. Stiff leather. So sad.

These were really long in the toe and kind of made me feel like the wicked witch of the west. They didn't seem very comfortable either, but probably would have been okay once they softened up. I liked some other pairs of boots I had ordered at the same time better, which were also less expensive, so I wasn't heartbroken to return these. Otherwise I might have tried a smaller size. They are different, which is what I liked about them, and seemed well made.

I love these shoes - I actually bought a pair in black years ago and wear them often, so I wanted to add the brown ones. I wear most Frye boots/shoes/sandals so I know the brand works for me. However, these shoes run small. My old ones are an 8, although I am normally an 8 1/2. In these, I tried both sizes - 8 1/2 was too big, but I could barely get my foot into the 8's. Maybe my old ones are stretched out or Frye changed something about this design in the interim. Unfortunately, both went back.

After trying to break in these shoes after many wears, I can say that these absolutely KILL my feet. It's almost as if the heel is cut incorrectly. The heel digs into the inside of the footbed causing such extreme pain, I can't even wear them with an insole added in. It's a shame because the style is cute and Frye is a great brand. I'm contacting Frye to see if I can exchange them at all since I've had them for a while.

I bought these last winter, and I love them, but they are not great quality. I do walk a lot in a city, and there is salt on the side walk, but that cannot be avoided and despite all the cleaning and conditioning with the Frye paste, the shoes cracked too much, the leather buckled on the sides. I would expect more durability for the price and from this brand. Water and salt cannot be avoided and if one takes decent care of these supposedly tough shoes, they should last more than a year. Something is up particularly with this model, since I own other Frye shoes and they have not exhibited such damage.

These are beautiful and comfortable, but, the tongue on the left shoe goes totally sideways. Sadly, I am returning the shoes.
