This is my 4th pair of Pace Gloves & I can't say enough about them. For those new to this type of shoe, it does require some breaking in. You have to wear the shoe for awhile to break it in, so it ultimately conforms to your foot. After breaking in my 1st pair, I ditched my regular gym shoes & now only wear my Pace Gloves. These shoes are amazing! Thanks to Zappos for stocking so I can quickly order & receive new pairs.

Love these shoes! I hate wearing shoes so the light and airy feel are perfect for me. I will admit my legs hurt the first few times I wore them but in a good way. I love wearing them for walking and at work, where I am on my feet pretty much all day.

These shoes run large. I was between a 7.5 and an 8 but decided to go with the 8 (I normally wear size 6 or 6.5 in dress shoes, but wear 7.5 or 8 in athletic shoes/sneakers). So far they have been very comfortable. I took them on a backpacking trip with me as camp shoes and they were comfortable and relaxing after a long day of wearing hiking boots. I also walked around with these a lot and really like the feel of them.

This was my first time trying these kind of shoes. And I love them! Comfy, lightweight, the shoelaces stay tied. I'm so glad I tried a minimalist shoe and so glad Merrell didn't let me down!

Super comfortable. I struggle finding shoes that fit since my feet are wide and I have a high arch, but these fit perfect.

These shoes are awesome! I love them. I plan to get other colors. They really are among the best shoes that I have ever put on. I stand for 12 hours at my job and at the end of the day my feet felt great!

For a 60+ yo woman with plantar fasciitis, a heel spur, bunions on both feet and hammer toes, it is difficult to find a comfortable shoe. Finally tho, I found the Barefoot Pace shoe and now my feet are happy. I bought the 10W in Lavender, prob. the last one in that size. They fit true to size. I think without my bunions and hammer toes I would normally wear a 9 1/2 but that's in the past. I buy usually 1/2 size up for the extra room. The cool thing about the Pace Barefoot shoes is that they don't rub against my bunions or protruding hammer toes - okay that's gross but those of who have these "gnarled" feet need to find shoes that are soft on our tootsies. I wear thin socks with them because my feet sweat since I live in a warm climate. Because of the plantar fasciitis problem I have to wear some type of shoe in my house and these work well. They give my foot more support than slippers or moccasins but aren't clunky like regular sneakers. It is almost like walking barefoot. The color selections were pretty spiffy but unfortunately there was only once choice left in my wide size. Fortunately it was a color I gravitate toward "When I am an old woman I shall wear purple...".

These shoes are very comfortable, great for running. I didn't need any transition period from regular running shoes.

These are great vacation shoes. I walked all over Savannah and Hershey Park! They are supportive on my ankles. They are tight, which keeps fluids off of my feet so they do not swell and hurt with walking. Driving a long way got tiring on the right ankle.

I cut a woman's hair who was wearing a pair of these and I thought they were really cute and when she told me they were like being barefoot I had to buy them. I generally do not ever wear tennis shoes except Converse because I hate clumpy looking shoes. However they do run half size too small. I sometimes wear 8 but mostly 8½. Even with bare feet they are too short and I will probably never wear socks with them so I had to exchange them for a size 9 but now have to wait until the chili pepper is back in stock. The color was as pictured.

I am a Merrell addict. I love their shoes, and haven't found one that I don't like! These shoes don't disappoint, they are flexible and sturdy. As a heads up, the tongue is attached to the shoe, so you can't open the shoe up wide to slide your foot in. I didn't find this to be a problem though, as there was just enough room to get my feet in (with thin socks on). The laces are grippy - they don't slip/slide, and they stay put tie them and don't come loose. They are very breathable and great to wear in the heat. It didn't feel like there was any arch support - when you lace them up, you can feel the arch, but it's not offering support, it's just touching your foot. I see it more as protection from pokey things sticking out of the ground than a support structure.

I love these shoes. They're sporty but cute, and feel great for walking around town, walking my dog, etc. I've yet to run in them (not really ready for barefoot running shoes yet) but consider them my go-to walking shoes - I'm planning to take them to Thailand in a few weeks. I like that they're barefoot but a lot more subtle than my Nike Frees for casual wear. I got blisters the first time I wore them, but ever since they've felt fine.

Great, light and comfortable shoe but I need arch support so sending them back. Order 1/2 size up for perfect fit.

I LOVE this shoe! This is the third pair of Merrell's I've purchased. They fit snug and I usually wear a thin sock with them but was going on a 5 day back country hike in Yosemite and decided to get a pair that were a half size larger to accommodate thick hiking socks. I wore them out of the box for 5 days of serious hiking and they were awesome. I love hiking in these because you can feel the ground. Much easier to stay vertical on slippery gravel and rocks when you can feel what's under your feet.

I love this shoe. It is incredibly light and initially you feel as though it can't possibly support your foot. But then as you wear it, you learn to trust it. Wonderful arch support, and yet it feels like you're wearing a ballet slipper. I used these to hike across the Galapagos. They feel very intuitive underfoot. I will buy them in other colors.

I am a huge fan of Merrell shoes in general but a newcomer to barefoot running. I'm also not a serious runner, but I wear these to the gym for treadmill running and circuit training. These shoes are amazing! They fit my long, narrow size 11 foot perfectly (which is not easy), the material is breathable, the toe box is wide enough for splay (eliminating the need for toe separation), and the sole is very flexible. You can feel the ground very well with these, and it makes running and walking feel natural and fun. Like the name says, they hug your feet like a glove. True minimalist runners might object to the arch, which is not exactly "support," but because of how it comes up to meet your foot, creates a profile that isn't exactly flat. It works fine for me. I find myself wanting to wear them everywhere, not just to the gym. I also like these better than the Lithe Glove, which has a slightly less flexible sole and doesn't quite grip my heel and conform to my foot as nicely as these.

I'm a recent convert to the "barefoot" idea - and the Pace Gloves are my first go at hiking without support. They've seriously changed my hiking experience and my life - I felt more energetic on a weekly hikes than I ever have. I felt like I was practically dancing through the woods - I could traverse the terrain, slip less, and feel the ground in ways I never knew possible. I love these shoes. I'm about to buy a second pair. Also, not for nothing: they look cute.

I hate sneakers but I love these shoes, they fit good, nothing was rubbing or bothering me at all after wearing and running. After awhile I didn't even notice them, and when I did it was only how good they felt.

Great shoes if you are into barefoot running. They fit like a glove (hence the name), but have room for your toes to spread in the toe box. They rubbed my heels for the first week so I had to wear band-aids (I wear them without socks). But now I don't need them.

This shoe is very comfortable walking all day. It breathes well & the wide toe box adds to the comfort. I ordered the red chilli pepper 1/2 size larger as other reviewers recommended & they fit perfectly. The red goes with everything, actually acts like a neutral. I promptly ordered another pair in black.

I usually wear a 7.5 in sandals, flats and heels but an 8 for running shoes, so ordered an 8 and they fit perfectly (with or without socks). They're very cute but remarkably thin so its a little difficult to understand what I'm paying for here when other running shoes offer so much more support. Nevertheless, I took them for a spin on the treadmill first and had a great run; no pain, no rubbing, no weirdness, just feels like you're wearing really thin, cardboard-like shoes. Then for my next run, went for a spin on the open road. I will admit, I didn't read any of the guidance about the "barefoot" experience, other than knowing that its supposed to put you more "in touch" with your environment and work different muscle groups. My run on the pavement was also good; you can definitely feel a big difference between these and other running shoes, and you feel all the branches, rocks, etc. beneath your feet. There was nothing painful about it though. It was a good, enjoyable run and I will be keeping these shoes. I waited on posting my review though because I was curious whether I'd actually used any new muscles and I'll also report that one day after my run I had some soreness on my legs, which I don't usually get with other running shoes. I'll chalk that up to using new muscle groups as I don't have shin splints or anything bad like that. So, bottom line, if you're looking for a different kind of running experience and a really cute, light shoe that you won't look like a dork wearing in public, the Merrell Barefoot Pace Glove is for you!

I love this shoe! This is my first pair of "official" barefoot shoes, although I have bought similar shoes from Merrell in the past. I do not yet use them to run, but I wear them all day, nearly every day. They are completely comfortable, breathable (no stinky feet at the end of the day!) and very lightweight. I have some tightness in the bottom of my right foot and when I put these on, I can't even tell. They are versatile enough to wear with shorts, casual skirts and jeans. I can't wait to buy another pair!

I was a long time distance runner sidelined by non-sports related knee injuries (i.e. a motor cycle and a bath tub statistic). Knees grew progressively worse to the point that I required a cane and finally underwent bilateral total knee replacements. Itching to exercise after this major surgery and having a lot of running shoe experience, I opted to give these "minimalist shoes" a try. One of the best decisions I ever made. Exercising my feet and legs as nature intended when I walk my hour/day walk, I built up my leg strength and got the use of my legs back. I no longer toddle around like the frail granny I had become. I highly recommend these Pace gloves for everyone but especially for those who want their legs back after knee replacements. They also helped my back, another casualty of motor vehicle accidents.
