I've used these on trails in Maine and in Central Park in NYC. Great barefoot feel, with just enough protection so that you can concentrate on running rather than obstacle avoidance.

These shoes are terrific. Very comfortable with a nice, very adjustable, fit. I have high arches so I can be difficult to fit. I have both these and the Tough Gloves and like the fit of the Tough Gloves slightly better, but these are also really great.

Great shoe. I use it for running and enjoy how light they are and how much space I have in the toe box. The only issue I have had is that they chew on my ankles at the shoe upper. I had to wear them with bandaids to protect my ankles at first, but I have callouses now. As bad as that sounds, they have been worth it to me. I love running in them and won't be going back to traditional running shoes.

This is my second pair of these shoes (different color). I love them. While I find barefoot running a bit too punishing on my ankles, I love the feel of these for weight and cross training. In addition to looking really cool, they're extremely comfortable.

I ordered these for my husband. He travels a lot for business and likes to workout while on the road. Problem is, tennis shoes are huge. I bought the Merrell Barefoot Trail Glove shoes because they were so packable! Very lightweight and crush down perfectly to squeeze into his suitcase. An even better perk, he said they feel great! Packable, comfortable, lightweight and perfect for travel!

I actually purchased them for my husband and he absolutely loves them! I have the woman's version, and I love them too. Very comfortable. We Agree that this is the best bare foot shoes out there. The soles very thin, the inside lining is soft and the toe area is roomy. Highly recommend these to anyone who wants to try barefoot shoes.

The Merrell Trail Gloves are terrific shoes. They're durable, fairly comfortable, and stylish. Most 'barefoot' shoes look like slippers, or are so eye-catching that you can't wear them without people pointing and asking about them. These look like sneakers, though, and get just about as much attention. The shoes are great on the trail, but don't wear socks if it's raining because the shoes will drain. They do run a bit narrow for a barefoot shoe.

I love these shoes. They are universally well reviewed and the quality was apparent right out of the box. They're very snug but comfortable. They pull in at the arch just right and the structure on top of the upper really helps the shoe meld to your foot when you tighten the laces. I haven't done more than 3/4 mile in them yet - still working up - but so far I have no complaints.

So far so good. I mainly use them for all kind of walking, all surfaces, trails. I have a bad ball of my right foot that has plagued me for years...one doc said it is a slight stress fracture. Whatever...I was attracted to the wider to footbed, but was worried about the lack of arch support. No worries anymore. My knees feel good, my weird foot feels good. This is the shoe.

This is my first jump to a flatter shoe. I was shocked! Most comfortable and best fitting shoe I have ever run in. I have been running for years in Saloman but I am sold on the Merrell. I run and hike trails only, and so far the comfort, grip, and shank have been great. I usually only run about 1 to 1.5 hours at a session. I did try and run without a sock and that was a little less comfortable. I tend to wear a mid-weight wool sock. I am a true 11 and they fit perfect. Thanks!

I love these shoes. I bought these shoes thinking I would only use them at the gym; surprisingly after I used them for the first couple of days at the gym I started to wear them at work and usually I would go home with sore heels due to my heel spur these shoes fixed it, these shoes do not have a lot of cushioning but my heels are not sore at all the first couple days my calves were sore but after a week they are so much better.

Most comfortable shoes you will ever put on your feet. Lightweight and ultra-flexible, your feet will feel like they have all the freedom of walking around barefoot, without the risk of stubbing toes. Shoes help feet feel great after an 8-hour day on the retail floor. Feet feel uber happy after a 6-mile trail run (build up distance gradually).

Friends of mine recommended barefoot shoes, so based on the reviews (and my previous experience with Merrell), I chose these. Immediately after returning home from my second barefoot hike, I bought a second pair for daily use. These shoes allow my feet to feel connected to the trail unlike any other hiking shoe or boot I've used thus far -- I was initially worried about how well the sole would protect my feet from sharp rocks, and I'm happy to say that I had no issues. I am impressed. Thanks Zappos!

I really like these shoes. I had some 5-fingers which I liked, but my toes don't fit them so well (my middle toe being much longer than my big toe) and I started having problems with my middle toe joint. These are a great replacement to the 5-Fingers.
I bought 1/2 size smaller than normal and wear them without socks.

Solid construction. Comfortable lining for socked or barefoot wear. I bought half size smaller than my typical size and got a good fit.

First of all, I must say that Zappos never disappointed me in these past years. They have always delivered on time and, very often, earlier than promise. I already had other type of minimal running shoes, so I was curious about the Merrell, which, initially, I bought mostly for walking or crossfitting, rather than for running. I must say that I have ordered a second pair almost immediately, as they are truly exceptional. They offer all the advantage of a minimal shoe (no heel, correct running gait, light sensation, connection with the terrain) and they also offer enough protection from rough terrains. I run mostly in the woods near our house, on rather rugged trails, so I have put the shoes to test, and they are real trail runners. They are a perfect alternative, especially during winter months, to other minimal shoes such as five-fingers. I recommend them to runners as well as to people who do triathlons or simply walk a lot.

I've been barefoot running for the past year and a half using Vibrams or just going straight barefoot. I decided to try these out and have really enjoyed them. While you do not get the tactile feedback that the Vibrams afford, you do have excellent protection for your feet, without the padding to alter your natural form.

I love these shoes. They are super lightweight, and a good gym shoe. Very comfortable, true to size. Color is bright, but not neon bright.

I really like these and find them really comfortable for running (and playing soccer!) on grass. Because of the boxier toe (almost square across the front) compared to traditionally "pointed" running shoes, those of us with a longer second toe might want to consider a 1/2 size up. It's a tricky trade off if you also have a narrow foot.

These shoes are definitely minimalistic but they are so comfortable , so light, provide great ventilation, the outer sole are extremely sticky. I love them.

I'm totally new to barefoot running, but I love 'em. I've worn them almost everyday since they were delivered, from grocery shopping, to running, crossfit lifting and even a Beerfest. Ankles were a little sore at first, but I think that's because they were all I ever wore. The very tips of my toes touch the ends, so maybe I could have gone a 1/2 size bigger, but I don't even notice that when I'm walking or running.

So far so good. I'm not an experienced barefoot runner, so I have to allow for lack of technique and conditioning in my review. Fit is true to size - 12 in my case - nice open toe box, heel stays put. No rubbing or hot spots. I feel the seam on the inside of the upper in the left shoe, but no hot spots so far. Have used only for road running - may try trail one of these days. I definitely recommend these for those wanting to go from mega-drop traditional shoes to barefoot without killing yourself on pebbles, glass, or blistering pavement. My knees are not complaining yet.

I am suprised I like this shoe as much as I do. It took some getting use to, as I had never had a shoe with no heel, nor this little padding. After a week or so I found it to be very comfortable and even preferable to my other trail runners.
I feel as though my feet are getting a better work out and getting stronger as well as my ankles.
There was a bit of soreness/tenderness in my ankels as well as the pads of my feet, but that disapated in a week or so and my feet feel fine.
I have about 100 miles on these so far and no delamination or signs of serious wear.

These shoes have easily paid for themselves in the toebox alone which is substantially large. No more stubbed toes, no more losing toenails, and no more blisters on your pinky toe. One piece of sage advice I learned the hard way: you will feel everything on the trail, so stay off rocky trails. I bruised both my heels and instep on my first run. These shoes are best used on trails that are primarily dirt, dead leaves, and pine straw. Also, they do force you to run on the ball of your feet. If you normally run with that technique, you'll take to these easily. Else, ease in to them on shorter runs. Overall, I love these shoes and would buy them again and again.
