I needed a casual shoe with significant support since I have some knee and ankle problems. I believed that the Merrell Encore Bypass would be the right fit. However, I wear a 13 Wide shoe and they are only available in medium width. Since they were returnable if they didn't work out, I ordered the 13-Medium. It fit perfectly and provides the support I anticipated. It's a great shoe.

I purchased these for my elderly father who has balance problems and struggles with laces. This is the second pair of Merrells I have purchased for him, and they both provide him with the stability and comfort that he needs, and ease in being able to take his shoes on and off without assistance. The mesh outer construction of the Bypass is a nice, cool summer alternative for him, without sacrificing stability and comfort. He absolutely loves them, and his physical therapist agreed that they are top notch for stability, support and comfort.

Excellent support and very comfortable all day plus the mesh uppers keep your feet cool.

These clogs fit perfectly if I wear socks. Without socks I use a Spenco cushion. They are comfortable and breathable but are not open mesh like you might think from the picture. The arch support is fine, unlike another pair of Merrell shoes I bought. 5 stars.

I have to admit I had doubts on size, but I had read if they don't fit I could return the shoes. Long story made short, I now have a perfect fit in all, width and size. Great service.

I love, love, love my woman's Merrel shoes in this style, so I bought this man's Merrell Encore Bypass for my husband to wear immediately following his recent knee replacement surgery. He has worn them every day for three weeks -- both during physical therapy as well as every time he is on his feet. Thanks, again, Zappos for your unparalleled selection and service. I ordered size 14 in Gunsmoke. Way too large. Returned it, and with trepidation because the colors in the picture on the website looked garishly orange, ordered the Brown in size 13. Fit perfectly. So, I would rate these as a tad large, as I have to take a size 14 in some shoes, and most size 13 shoes are too short for me. Anyway, the brown color is a rich chestnut brown, and the leather trim is muted in color. Not at all as garish as it appears on the site. I liked the Brown ones so much--so very supportive and comfortable, that I then ordered a pair in Gunsmoke, but this time in size 13. Again, fit perfectly and oh, so comfortable. The Gunsmoke is close to taupe (which, in French, means mole) in color, and perfect to go with olive chinos as well as black trousers. Don't be put off by the colors on the web site, as they are not accurate. But, the shoes are great!

I wish regular shows were this comfortable. I've avoided clogs due to their unfashionable reputation but my podiatrist told me (after diagnosing me with tendinitis) to get it. It's very comfortable and supports the heel very well. I wear it all the time and actually wore it to a wedding.

Fit is as it should be. I prefer more arch support. Good shoe for around the house.

Order a 1/2 size smaller than your usual size.

I bought these for my husband, and he loves them so much that I also got them for him in another color. He is very picky about his shoes, mostly because he has a wide foot and needs comfort. He is on his feet all day, and this shoe does the trick. In fact, my husband also owns this shoe from previous seasons and was pleasantly surprised to find this newer version fits even better due to the bit of elastic stretch on either side. Highly recommend this shoe! Can't go wrong with Merrell!

I suffer from planter's faceitis (sp?) so regular house slippers don't work for me. I use these as my house slippers and there work wonderfully. This is my 4th or 5th pair of Merrells. I like them.

My husband got these to wear at home while working at his standing desk. He has a wide foot, so he found them a bit tight at first, but says they loosened up, are now comfortable and provide good support for standing hours at a time.

The color isn't as bright as it is in the picture. I don't think it looks as good in the picture as it did when it arrived. Only problem I had was that it was a 1/2 size larger than I thought it'd be.

I couldn't decide between the Gunsmoke and the Dark Earth and ended up keeping both of them. The brown shoes are actually darker than pictured. Shoes are true to size and I wear them frequently. They don't breathe as well as I would have hoped, but still am very satisfied with them.

At first I was nervous about buying these, a shoe that could help plantar fasciitis? My doc said it would help, so reluctantly, I purchased them and have been happy with them ever since. They are very comfortable, give amazing support and alleviated all the pain from my foot injury.
