Customer Reviews Merrell Encore Bypass

Although these shoes have a very comfortable foot bed with good arch support they fit like boats. I don't know what they were thinking when they sized these shoes. I normally wear a 10 1/2, D width. After reading the reviews I ordered a 10 but it is still too long and too wide. I am sending them back and am deciding if I want to try a 9 1/2 or get a refund. My gut tells me they will never fit correctly but i do like the shoe.

I live in my Merrell slides, but not in this style. The slit on each side means that the shoe will not fit as snugly as previous version which is absent the slits. inside the shoes, the slit stitching also has rubbed against the top of one of my feet, causing blistering; wearing thicker socks is the only thing short of a band aid that helps. I wear arch-supporting inserts in my shoes, and while they add some snugness, these shoes are still too loose for me. I love the new colors available and Merrells have typically been of outstanding quality, but this one doesn't measure up. If loose shoes are not a problem for you, then you may be fine with this one, otherwise, you will either need to find an alternative or hope they bring the old ones back.
