I read everyone's reviews to help me with selection. So based on that I purchased two pairs of these, one a half size bigger based on various comments. I am having problems with toe box room, especially on the treadmill. The 10 was a little short with my orthotics and surprisingly too wide in the heel. The 101/2 actually felt similar if not tighter than the 10 but the toe box was not roomy. Surprising. I don't dislike the shoe, but it didn't work for me. The toe box was too snug and the heel slipped a lot. Will keep trying - good shoe, just not for me.

I think they are much improved over the Kayano 16s but I find that the sole gives too quickly. I run about 20 miles a week and I find that after 6-8 weeks I have to replace them.

Finally! A running shoe for narrow feet that actually is narrower in width across the ball of the foot area! Looking down at my feet, the laces are offset to the midline of my body rather than being in the center of the shoe -- however, this strangeness works out okay. I kept them because they are truly narrow but in general I don't like the synthetic feel of this brand. Also, not as well-padded as New Balance.

Always enjoy these Kayano shoes. This must be my fourth/fifth pair. They support my arches and wear well for me. I keep them for about 300-400 miles of street running and then trade them in. Zappos was same on price as my local running store but the hours and delivery were much better.

The item was lightweight and fit very well, however I am having a problem with plantar fasciitis and I need something to wear.

Ordered the size 7 when my usual running shoe size of 6.5 was too short. Good arch support.

The Asics Gel-Kayano is my new favorite running shoe. It has the right amount of cushion and stability while looking stylish for your workout.

You get what you pay for with these Asics. I'm on my second pair and I appreciate have the option to buy the black color. These are high quality sneaks that I use to play sports. For me they last longer than cheaper versions so it's worth the extra money. I use arch supports from my podiatrist and my feet have been pulling through. My foot is a little wide in the front so Asics are the only brand that give me a good fit. My friends with very narrow feet usually go with a different shoe.

Good shoe. I prefer my other, cheaper Asics, though. These are a bit narrow in the toe. Also, I purchased the black and they look like wrestling shoes.

Great shoes, very comfortable. I'm not sure why but I keep getting blisters on my heels, but otherwise they are extremely comfortable.

So disappointing! The new Asics Gel Kayano 17 do not fit the same as my old pair of Kayano 16. They are shorter and tighter through the toes. I'm ordering the half size larger now with faint hopes of a better outcome.

I purchased the 8W which is the size I normally wear. I've noticed all wides in womens brands are starting to feel like mediums. These are close. I was told by a podiatrist not to lace the top by toe area to help with this. The sneaker overall is pretty to look at and comfortable. I thought too expensive for sneakers that will probably last 6 months but had to buy no other choice. Alternative is to buy men's.

Very comfortable shoe; however, my only complaint is that the mesh tops wore through as has been stated by others in only a couple of months and now they look too rough for my taste after only 4 months.

I only ever buy the Asics Gel-Kayano for running. When I saw the latest version I was so excited but turned out to be very disappointed. I bought the same size I always do but these seem to run a little bigger. My feet slipped all over the place and the heel support was very different from the 16 version. I had to send them back and get my 16's again. A good shoe will make or break my run! I loved the style though! I wish I could get my 16's in black.

Way too heavy. Normally I am used to the Gel Kayano being light and flexible and these are neither. I would return them if I could but I have run in them twice, both times unhappy. They are very heavy!

I been wearing ASICS for years but only recently started running. These were the most expensive one that I have ever purchased and probably my least favorite. They are great for walking around but start to get a little uncomfortable after a mile or so. Too late to return. I am hoping that after a little wear they become more comfortable.

I loved Asics running shoes until buying this pair. My previous Asics gave oomph to my step until gradually the shoes wore out, and then it was time to buy a new pair. But this new pair felt worn out from the start. I noticed that the insole is floppy, unlike my old pairs, so maybe that is the problem. If so, I wonder if all new Ascis have floppy insoles or just this style.

I had been reading reviews on these shoes for a while. I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and the reviews were so wrong. I have pronation and thought these had excellent arch support according to reviews, but they do not. Within 30 min. of wearing them my heels started aching, then later the balls of my feet hurt. For this much money I didn't expect any pain. I am returning them and going to try the GT60 and pray those are better.

I am very disappointed, it has no arch support, thin soles, & feels more like a cheap neutral running shoes. I have great experiences with previous Kayanos but the 17 is a major letdown.

The Asics Gel Kayano 17 is a huge disappointment. I have worn this style and size for years, they always fit perfectly from day one. Now with this new 17 model, my feet go numb after a bit of walking and I cannot wear them. They changed something.

Greatest running shoe I've owned. I've been using the same model for years now, comfortable, yet supportive. Lightweight, yet sturdy. The newest model runs a little smaller than previous models. I ordered a half size up.

I am very happy with this shoe, had a less expensive pair of asics already, but am just now getting into running a few 5ks and wanted a little better shoe. Lightweight, comfortable, good support although I did have to switch insoles to an orthotic my Dr. had given me for the arch support. Mostly I like the free shipping and returns from zappos although I have yet to return anything, it's good to know that I can for free. Wish they sold nursing uniforms!

This is an awesome shoe. I suffer from plantar fascia, morton's neuroma, and knee pain--and thus I know what pain means! The Kayano 17 provides the very best cushioning of the heel and the metatarsal area. Most, if not all, other running shoes don't provide enough forefoot protection. Like all running shoes, the toe box is not too wide, but I can tie my laces to make the toe box more roomy. I don't really have any complain about Kayano 17--except that I wish the wide sizes also came in black. Also, for all running shoes, order half a size up. Feet swell significantly after prolonged running and exercise in the gym.
