My 4th pair of Troopas. Other than having absolutely no arch support, these boots are pretty much perfect.

I am VERY disappointed in these boots. My husband said Steve Madden is a high quality brand, but there are several problems with these boots: - Extremely strong, terribly disgusting chemical odor: When I took them out of the box, the odor was overwhelming. Regardless of where I kept them in our apartment, they would make the whole room smelly to an extent that you could notice the smell right when you walked in. After I had them sit in a corner for almost a whole week, I decided to wear them for the first time today. They are still smelly, and - unfortunately - I cannot take them off because I am at work. The smell is so overwhelming that it actually gives me a headache. I cannot wait to take them off tonight!!! - Even though I had a perfectly normal day and did not do anything crazy, the surface of the tip of the left boot is already scratched and reveals a color that suggests that the upper is not made of leather, but some synthetic material. I also feel that my feet are sweaty, which they are not in my other leather boots. I paid the reduces price of $79.90, but that still seems way too much!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!

These boots look great and fit well. The insoles aren't super supportive so a comfort insole helps a lot. The sole doesn't have a lot of grip initially so they aren't the best on icy or slippery surfaces. A great fashion boot, but not meant for winter protection. The side zipper is handy and makes them easy to slip on an off without unlacing. Very cute boots!

These boots are so cute and sooo comfy! I read the reviews about cracked soles but I haven't experienced that yet. I've only had them for a few weeks though! As with most Steve Madden shoes I sized up and they fit perfectly! Only a half size on these boots though.

Sizing is not consistent. I ordered these boots in brown and they fit perfecting. I liked them so much I ordered them in black. When I tried them on I found that the left boot was noticeably more narrow than the right. The right fit perfectly.

Love these shoes! They are so comfortable and look great with everything. I've worn them with jeans as well as with a skirt.

Really loved the boot until I took them off at my sister's house and realized they made my socks stink :( so embarassing.

These boots are definitely stylish, but their quality is not so great for the price. Although, I did love my troopa boots, the black started to fade away quite quickly and gave it a green undertone. Wished the black would've lasted longer!

I've had these boots for 2 years now and I'm still in love! I wear them almost every day and they still look great - no rips, tears, nothing. No exaggeration, these boots are my most comfortable most favorite shoes I own. Best purchase EVER. Buy them and I promise you won't regret it.

I thought they were a good deal. They were awful. I gave them to Salvation Army. Purchased Rockport Cobb Hill Bethany instead. They are more expensive, but worth every penny!

Runs big but comfortable!

You get what you pay for... Steve Madden seems to have gone down in quality. I will be surprised if these boots last more than 2 seasons. The leather is thin and looks cheap. I could have gone down a half size because they stretched out after 3 wears.

This is a very comfortable boot. There was not bunching in the ankle area at all, and it was easy to wear for an entire day. The side zip makes it very accommodating to be able to switch back and forth between thinner and thicker socks as necessary. I would definitely buy this again.

I bought these shoes many, many years ago and they are still holding up and fantastic. I'e worn them all over the world (even used them as a hammer when camping once). An all around awesome shoe. Highly recommend.

These boots are super cute and pretty good quality for the price. They look good with lots of different choices of clothing and are comfortable as well. Overall, Im happy with my purchase. Also, gotta love how great Zappos customer service is!

The shoe is smooth and has a distressed look. It fits well on the foot.

Usually I love Steve Madden boots but I was rather disappointed in these. I love the way they look, but their style does not outrank their overall discomfort. They are incredibly stiff and really hard to break in. I've worn mine for probably the equivalent of a full week, and they still are hard and stiff. There is absolutely no arch support and when I added insoles to help, the boots were too small and squeezed my feet. The laces should be switched out — they are bizarrely long, also really stiff, and do not stay tied. I've had two other pairs of SM boots that I just loved and that I took on various walking trips, and they did a great job. The Troppa boots are not in their league. I would not recommend these.

I was a little wary of these boots because of reviews that are critical of their quality, but they were on a bit of a sale, which made them a) affordable while I save up for some Frye boots and b) I love the style (very classic-combat-boot but with a less-chunky sole than you usually get). I've had them for a few weeks and have worn them every day in work/walking around town situations, and they're holding up wonderfully so far. They're clearly not the best-quality leather (and NOTE: the lining is man-made, which differs from the description above), but the leather is certainly acceptable, the stitching seems solid, and they're quite comfortable. A couple of notes on the ones I got (black): 1) SIZING: I have a narrow foot, so I didn't size up as many folks recommended. I ordered my normal size 7, but my heel was slipping a lot, and just from trying the boots on twice, the leather seemed to be stretching a bit, so I exchanged for a 6.5. At first, I had a little trouble getting my foot in, but after trying the boots on twice, they'd softened up. After one evening of wearing them around the house, the boots fit PERFECTLY. So maybe if you've got a narrow foot, consider sizing down? Or at least not sizing up. 2) DIFFERENCES FROM WHAT'S PICTURED: The zipper and laces do NOT match the boots in the picture. The zipper has changed from that chunkier, brass-looking YKK to a black, narrow-tabbed YKK zipper. It's fine with me now, but I was initially disappointed. The laces are round rather than the flat-looking ones in the pictures above, which is no bigs, really, but if you're super into the minutia of laces, be warned. Overall, I'm really happy with these boots. They look GREAT with every outfit, they're comfortable, and they were relatively affordable.

I have these boots in black and brown. The brown is a gorgeous cognac color that works as a great neutral color for a variety of different outfits/colors. However, within a couple of months the zipper broke off of one of my boots so I cannot wear the brown pair anymore. However, I have had the black pair for almost 2yrs and they have held up well. In the fall/winter I wear these every single day in any type of weather so there are a few scratches on the toe area but no problems with the sole or the zipper. My foot is on the wide side (but not wide enough to require wide fit shoes) and these boots are very comfortable, and feel true to size.

Loves these boots!Got them for my daughter and they look great on shes very happy with them and I will be getting them in the two other colors and LOVE how super fast I get them!
