These shoes are very cute. However, they do run very large. I'm a exact 11B, and these felt like a 12. Sadly, I forgot to return them within the year, so had to keep them. After I put insoles in them, they were only slightly too big. The quality of these shoes is TERRIBLE. I wore them to work for a week and a half and the soles have already worn down to the point I'm considering getting them resoled, or tossing them as I'm not sure its worth spending the money for poor quality shoes.

I ordered these and was very happy with them, they were comfortable and cute! Within a few weeks the front toe of one of the boots tore from the sole. I talked to costumer service and they replaced the boots.

My daughter is on her third pair. She uses them traveling through Europe. They are hip and cute. The price is right to keep getting them!

I returned these shoes because they looked very cheap. The soles were thin and the stitching was uneven. I'd rather spend a little more for a quality combat boot.

Loved these boots and wore them for work for months... after about 6 months though the zipper on one of them broke. Disappointed but I liked them well enough I might order another pair anyway.

These run a half size large and they are on the narrow side- I have narrow feet- so they felt great to me.

Cute shoe that zips on. Loved it, but I order a 7. It felt like a 9! (And I ordered 4 pair of zappos shoes. The rest fit! This one just runs very large!)

Wore them the first time and walked over 11,000 steps that day with no issues. I had bunion surgery over a year ago and my foot is still sore, so I have a difficult time finding stylish shoes that don’t hurt, but these were just what I needed! Love them!

The shoes looked cheaply made. The stitching was misaligned, the material looked of inferior quality and the soles were thin. These were on sale and I'm still returning them.

Bought these as a gift for my granddaught’s Birthday, unfortunately she didN’t get to try them on for comfort and support. The boots had a super strong chemical smell to them,it was so toxic I had no choice but to return them.

These are all-around great boots! I bought them for my then 12-year-old daughter last fall and am writing this review almost a year later. The style is very attractive - I would wear them myself if we were the same size. She has outgrown kids' sizes and wanted something that would look cool and hold up in the wintertime. They are stylish but also simple, and the heel gives just a small boost. They held up through a New York winter last year and she just took them out again for fall. (We didn't have a lot of snow last year, but that's still pretty impressive). Glad her feet seem to have stopped growing and she can still fit into them!

Cute boots — they do have a chemical smell but I’m sure that will wear off with some time. I would definitely recommend these

I wore my last pair of combat boots out and was looking for a replacement. These look great and are fairly comfortable. I see myself wearing these a ton

I bought a pair of Troopas in late 2010 and loved them. Wore them every day for months for years! I ordered a replacement pair and they are NOT the same. The leather is thicker, stiffer, and darker. The soles are stiff and thick. The laces are cheaper. The toe is incredibly roomy and the shaft is wide but the bridge is very narrow. The only upshot is a better zipper. I loved that the old Troopas were delicate and soft, unlike traditional combat boots. Returning them, very sadly.

very cute combat boots, didn't give them to my granddaughter as a Birthday gift so I have no way of knowing about the fit. There is a very strong and awful CHEMICAL smell coming from the shoes...left the box open for days tried airing them out on my front porch. Its in there to stay....was making me nausous! have to return them, perhaps look for genuine leather boots.

I don't consider myself having a wide foot, but these were much too narrow and very uncomfortable. Could not wait to get them off of my foot!

I saw these boots and was so excited to receive but the color is a darker brown than what it looks like in picture. It's a chocolate brown. I have a narrow foot and it fits ok. I take size 10 and it's a little loose but I would fear 9.5 might be too short. I have very narrow ankles and calves and even with socks and my skinny jeans, the top of boots were too wide. So disappointed. I am returning.

Beware if you are buying these in black and want the brass hardware and distressed tan sole pictured. You will get 100 percent black--Black zipper, black eyelets, black sole. Steve Madden must have changed the style but kept the name but Zappos did not update their picture. I thought maybe they sent me the Troopa 2-0 by accident, but nope. Ordered again and still the wrong shoe. For those who want them anyway: I thought they felt a half size larger than I usually wear. Oh and what someone else said recently is true: The chemical smell is out of control. Might fade, but I don't know because I'm not keeping them. I wanted the brass accents! :(

I have the Troopa boot from last year. These are not the same. They are larger than the previous model AND they smelled like chemicals very badly. It's a shame because i was planning on ordering another pair of black ones as a back up :( They are my favorite boots!!

I have this boot in several colors and I love them! They look cute with just about everything--pants, leggings, dresses, skirts. The new ones are a slightly different design than the older Troopa (zipper is on the side instead of back and laces are a little chunky and not as nice), but fit and quality are the same. They have no padding, so I recommend ordering a half size larger so you can add inserts to make them a little more comfy.

I love these boots. You can dress them up or down and they look great. Very comfortable too

Very comfortable boots & get compliments on them all the time. Have lasted for a few years now & hope they continue to wear like they have for a few more. Highly recommend!
