This mat has improved my practice, I feel more grounded on my mat, especially in my standing poses, my chaturanga is stronger. I only give this mat a 4 out of 5 because I need a mat towel for all my hot classes and for non heated class I still need a hand towel even though I did a salt scrub twice. I am happy Manduka Pro Series has lifetime guarantee, was one of the reason why I was willing to try this mat, with practicing at least once a day, I wear a mat out quickly. I have a Pro and Prolite - my Prolite I can say is truly my soul mat.

I had bought this mat on my friend's recommendation. I am quite happy with it. the only problem is that since I live in India and am into intense yoga practice I sweat a lot and my hands tend to slip a lot. do you have any suggestion as to how do I deal with it?

I bought this mat 2 months ago and its ok. Reason for 4 stars is that its very slippery for hot yoga so a towel is required.I dont prep my mat whats the point? I have no time for that. A good mat is a good mat. This 1 is ok. I rather invest on yoga towels.

I bought this mat because of the lifetime guarantee feature. I use it for my hot yoga class, but paired it up with an Eco towel because it is slippery otherwise. I recently tried it in a nonheated yoga class without the towel, and it's great!

I'm really happy with my mat. The thickness and padding is great, I work on a hard floor so a bit of extra comfort is always welcome. I also love the colour, which brightens my morning practice.

This mat was comfortable right off the bat and I love using it. I have a different mat for bikram that is meant to absorb sweat so there's no slipping, so I didn't expect to use this mat for that kind of yoga as I know it isn't meant to get wet. Unfortunately, any sweat at all on my feet or hands causes me to slip with this mat. I didn't think a towel would be necessary to use for vinyasa and maybe I just sweat more than most people. I don't regret buying this mat but wish it was even somewhat sweat-proof.

I've been practicing on this mat for about 3 months now, and it keeps getting better. I had some issues slipping at first, but that's improved immensely the more I've used the mat. For any hot yoga though, a towel is a necessity. Sweat pools on the mat, which is more hygienic than soaking in, but makes for a very slippery practice. If you're only doing hot yoga, splurge on a really great towel instead.

I traded my old mat in and bought this one online-sight unseen. It's length is good. It's a little narrow but overall weighs a lot less than my prior mat-a plus. I feel like this mat is "hottter" during practice. Not sure why?

I love the mat now that it is broken in - but boy was it a pain getting to this point. I was really lucky that I got the mat during the summer so that I could leave it outside in the sun as this was the only thing that I found helped to get rid of the slipperiness of the mat and make it usable. Even then, it took several rounds of salting & wiping down the mat, and leaving in the sun, to make the slipperiness go away. What I'd have done in the winter I've no idea - who has space (especially with small kids at home) to leave a mat for 24 hours covered in salt??! Simply not practical. Now that it is broken in it is great and I enjoy using it, but the slipperiness (making downward dog impossible) was really worrying and at first I thought that I'd totally bought a dud.

I purchased this mat about 3 weeks ago, and put sea salt on it overnight as directed, to help it to be the most non-stick mat ever, according to the advertisement. I brought it to a yoga class and had to switch to the studio mats because I was sliding so much. It is so slick I cant even do a downward dog on it. Very disappointed.

I've heard such great things about Manduka that I finally decided to splurge and buy one. It's a beautiful marine blue mat, and the thickness is just right. However it's a little narrow compared to other mats I've used, but worst of all I'm still slipping in positions like downward dog, etc where it is crucial to have solid grounding to prevent injury. I even did the salt treatment they recommend, but it didn't help - still slipping. I've decided to purchase yoga gloves to give me the necessary grip on my mat. Needless to say, it's a beautiful looking mat, but performance-wise I am sorry to say that I'm disappointed... I will probably return to my Jade Mat which gives me more stability and width for my practice.

I got my prolite mat a few months ago. I was ready to love it immediately. I have read a lot of reviews and i knew, that the mat had to broken in. So it wasn't a surprise that i was slipping at first. Then after a month i decided to do the salt treatment. No result. Still hopeful. A few weeks passed and i did the salt treatment again. Bearing in mind i praciticed almost every day, some days more than once. And even after the second salt treatment it is SO SLIPPERY! Today in practice i was sipping so much it wasn't even funny. I am just frustrated at this point. Honestly it is just unacceptable. I gave 3 stars just because i am still hoping somehow i will break it in. Otherwise - i am beyond disappointed.

I bought my mat one year ago. Before buying it, I had read online that some people don't really like the PRO series because they are slippery, but I decided to buy it anyway because I do not sweat too much. I did the salt scrub a few times and followed other suggestions to reduce the problem, but I still don't feel stable doing downdog and other poses. It's a pity because I like the thickness and the texture of the mat and it actually seems very durable. I don't like to use towels during my practice, because they get in my way and I need to readjust them all the time, which distracts and annoyes me. The result is that I have a love-hate relationship with my Manduka Pro Lite. I don't like that I invested that amout of money on a mat on which I don't feel safe and I cannot fully enjoy the practice. At the same time, I appreciate the quality and durability that Manduka offers.

I did a fair bit of research before taking the plunge here, and settled on the PROlite rather than the PRO for weight reasons... and I didn't think I needed the extra length. What I didn't realize is that I'd gotten used to the extra WIDTH of the lululemon mats - the length of the PROlite is just fine, but it feels like trying to practice on a balance beam. Just wish I had paid closer attention to all of the dimensions before deciding.
As others have noted, quite slippery when new. Recommended salt treatment seems to have been pretty ineffective - will see how it is after some practice. If you are smaller the width may be a non-issue - but really wish I had had the opportunity to try one first before purchasing.

It takes a LOT of effort to clean the mat with salt. It's a expensive mat so I would like to get it ready to use. But it's a very good product, also Manduka have a very good support on the phone.

Bought this a month ago, did the sea salt method to break in as recommended. However it has been very slippery for some reason, my feet is also exceptionally sweaty on it (which is not usually the case) I'm not sure if it's because of the humidifier that's misting the air while I'm doing yoga. Hasn't been a great experience so far. But the make of the pro lite is exceptional, feels very sturdy. Just hope that it'll get stickier as I practise? Fingers crossed.

I definitely like the padding and extra length but I'm slipping quite a bit with this mat and I haven't had that problem before.

I hate doing lunges with my back knee down (I have a yoga instructor that prompts this frequently) and I was hoping a thicker mat would make it more comfortable. I'd say it's 50% more comfortable and I was hoping for 100%. I also feel like I'm on a slip n' slide during downward dog, admittedly I have not had much of a chance to break it in. However, it's hard to want to practice while this frustration is occurring.

My daughter has a mat from you and loves it. She helped me pick out this one for me and, despite carrying out the salting instructions, it's quite slippery. I had my daughter try it and she agrees. I've gone back to using an old mat.

I am a yoga fanatic, practice it 6 days a week. Tired of the cheap mats that shed. Finally decided to splurge and invest in a long lasting good quality mat and i picked Manduka. It's been a few weeks and I am still trying to get used to it. I like that it doesn't shed but i don't like how it feels on my feet and fingers. And I feel like when my arms get sweaty, it gets slippery. So, i am undecided about it....
