I love these boots! I have thicker more muscular legs, so it's always harder to find boots that fit, let alone a cute rain boot. I bought the original hunter rain boots a few years ago, and they have held up well, however they were hard to wear with jeans. The huntress has more room in the shaft, so if your legs are more muscular, these are the boots for you. They are also not as tall as the original and i like that as well. They are more comfortable than the original hunter in my opinion. I love wearing them, I could wear them every day if I wanted! Get these boots! They are worth every penny! P.s. I normally wear between a size 7-8 and for the original hunter I bought an 8, it was very roomy, so I tried a 7 in the huntress and it fits perfect.

I was pathetically depressed when I ordered the original Hunters and found that they were too tight in the calves when I was wearing skinny jeans. Then I saw a review of the Hunter Huntress' online and gave them a try. I could not be happier. These are much roomier in the calves, even with room to spare. I love this color and the gloss. I do wish the Huntress was available in additional colors, but these are great. Ready for a Spring!

I love these boots! However, they do run quite large. I usually wear a size 8 or 8 1/2. I had tried on my daughter's Hunter Original Tall boots in an 8. I prefer a lower shaft and wider calf so I ordered the Huntress style in an 8 also. They were huge! I returned them for the size 7 and they fit perfectly. Not too tall and the calf is comfortable, not too loose or tight. I love the merlot color. Zappos is the best: they exchanged them no questions asked, my new boots arrived the next day and I got free shipping on everything!

Love my Hunter Huntress Gloss boots! They've been great walking the dog in the rain & mud, snow, and just bumming around in outside. They are a classy look for a simple boot.

I tried the original Hunters but found they were too tall for my short legs (I am 5'6") and a little tight on my calves (I weigh 125 lbs but I'm pretty athletic so my calves are bigger than most). The huntress fit like a dream! They do run big so go down a size (I wear an 8.5 so I purchased an 8). They are comfortable to wear and easy to clean.

Great rainboot! I have huge calves and difficulty finding boots with room to tuck regular jeans, etc. These have a wider shaft than regular Hunter wellies and are perfect with thick winter socks too. Love the merlot color too!

Easiest ordering process ever! After spending multiple time on phone with Nordstroms and Bloomingdale's, to try and find these boots, my daughter told me about Zappos. I got online, chose the boots, and the next day they were here. It was so simple, I ended up ordering two more pairs of the same Hunter boot for my twin daughters for Christmas.

These boots are great! I am short and have muscular calves and they fit perfectly. I typically order a size up in boots to accommodate my calves but ordered my true to size 8 in these. I have plenty of room for thick socks! I have several pairs of cheaper wellies and these are so much better! Well worth the slightly higher price!

My teen aged daughter has been asking for Hunter boots for a few years, but the price is steep. I finally gave in because her feet quit growing, and her best friend's boots still look great going into the 3rd year of wear. She and all her friends love them. On warmer wet days, the rubber is great, does not cause her feet to sweat like plastic rainboots. So the boots don't get smelly.

Love these rain boots! Very stylish and a must for the Seattle rain! Had a bit of trouble finding my size. After reading the reviews and knowing they run bug, I ordered an 8 b/c I am a true 8 sometimes even 8 1/2. However, after wearing them in the house and walking down the stairs, I almost tripped out of them. I exchanged for a 7, which Zappos makes so easy. The 7 are prefect.

I love these boots! The originals tend to be slim through the calves and these are perfect for someone with larger calves. I normally wear a 10, but purchased the 9 and they are perfect!

Love these! I usually wear a size 7.5 or 8 so at first I was considering getting a 7 because everyone said that these boots ran big. I'm definitely happy I ended up getting the 8 because a 7 would've been way too small for sure. Especially since I bought the welly socks for colder days and insoles for more comfort. I was also nervous that the Huntress boots would be noticeably different from the original Hunters but that's not the case! I absolutely love them!

These are FANTASTIC! I am just about 5'2", 130 lbs and wear a size 7 1/2 - 8 depending on the brand of the shoe. My calves are very muscular...they are 15" at the widest point. There are so many conflicting measurements on several different websites with regard to the details of this boot. I was also nervous that the shaft circumference of the boot would be different depending on the size ordered. I ordered a size 7 and the shaft of the boot is between 16 and 16 1/2, so it works for me. I can wear skinny jeans and a sock on top of my jean and they both fit perfectly into the boot with a little room to spare, but not so much room that it looks bad or is uncomfortable. I did experience a little bit of a "slip" of my feet when I walked. For that reason, I am going to try the size 6 just to see if they are still comfortable and hopefully to alleviate the slip. However, if the 6 is too small, I will still keep the 7 because the boots are very cute on and it's not so bothersome to me that I would want to try and find another boot. I have been looking for the perfect pair of rain boots for years!! This is the best boot I have ever tried on by far. I often find myself at a disadvantage where all tall boots are concerned. Most tall boots are very tight around my calvs and come up way too far on me to be flattering...some over my knee even: ( These are awesome!! The shaft height is actually 13 1/2 and is perfect for my height. They come up about 1 1/2 - maybe 2 inches below my knees and have a riding boot type of look. The ankles of the boot are wide, but I didn't find them to be awkward looking as some other reviewers did. The gloss is perfect too...it's not overly shiny, but not dull either and when I received my boots the finish was fine, there was no "blooming" as other reviewers have written. I would also like to note that the logo on the front read "Hunter" NOT "Huntress". I have always been impressed with the quality and the reviews that come with the Hunter brand. I was disappointed years ago when I tried on the classic tall and they were way too tall for me. I think Hunter has nailed it with the Huntress! Now, if they would just make a few more colors. Lol!

For the longest time I had been jealous of everyone that could wear cute boots over their leggings/pants. I'm only 4'9" and have 14.25" calves, so finding boots short enough and wide enough to fit the bill has been hopeless. The Huntress is a miracle! They fit around my dancer calves and short enough to not loo stupid. Thank you Hunter! By the way, ordering your true size allows room for thicker socks in the winter.

These boots fit me much better than the original Hunter boots. I measured my calf which is 14" and had ordered the original (which said would fit calves up to 15"). I could barely get those over my jeans! The Huntress has way more calf room but looks cute, not kid-like. I normally wear a size 9 but after reading other reviews, I ordered a size down. They are still a little too big in the heel! But a thick pair of socks helped with this and decided to keep them. They are heavier than any rain boots I've ever worn (generally ones from Target) and it took a minute to get used to walking in them. Got them in red and look so cute on a gloomy day!

These boots were lovely. They are, sadly, bigger all the way around. I have wide feet, and a high instep, but not a wide calf. Regular Hunter boots seem almost to fit, until my toes feel numb after a few minutes (not good!). I ordered these in my regular size (6) - the foot box felt good, then way too big in the ankle and calf. Probably many women with wider calves have the opposite experience, with narrow feet or heels and then wide calves. So be aware if you are a mismatch like myself between foot width and calf width. Also be aware in this review - my feet are really wide/insteps really high. Regular Hunter boots may be fine for most foot widths!

It's hard to review these so soon, as I have no idea yet if they will hold up...and for the price I paid for rubber, they'd better! I can say that I have very large calves, and even a lot of "wide calf" boots are not big enough for me. I thought I was going to have to get the "short" version, which I find quite unattractive. I also hate that most wide-calf boots have an extra panel inserted in the back...so it's obvious to the world that you had to buy wide-calf boots. These have no tell-tale sign of being wide-calf, and to my surprise, these fit - even with skinny jeans. I wish they were a wee bit larger so as not to appear to be gripping my leg, but I was so happy they fit around my calves I will live with that. Does rubber stretch out? :) They are pretty long and wide, but I think that's by design. I could easily wear thick wool socks with these - as long as they're short. :) If they last as expected, I would recommend these to my big-calved sisters out there!

I am a size 8, always a size 8, never a 7.5 or 8.5. This size 8 boot slips right off my feet when walking in them. Definitely going for the 7.

My wife bought these and she likes them a lot. I would say the only gripe that I would have is that they don't stay super shiny. To keep them shiny she had to buy a gloss or something like that. Other than that, great boots. My kids have them too and they like them.

I admired these pricey rain boots for a while finally purchasing recently. I live in NJ where the cold, wet and snowy winter takes a toll on boots. The quality and fit is great, comfortable. However, my complaint centers on the "bloom" a whitish color that appears on the boots due to natural properties of rubber - according to Hunter. This bloom turns these lovely glossy boots to a dull blackish gray with white patches UGH! and when I complained to Hunter and they suggested I buy their cleaning products! WHAT? I just spent over 150 dollars on these rain boots. Disappointing. I will not buy another pair.

These boots are really cute and I wish they worked for me. Unfortunately, my calves are more athletic than the 16+ inches that the boot allowed. I hated the thought of returning them, but they were a bit difficult to get on, but even more difficult to take off. The foot part felt a bit more roomier in the toe box. I have no doubt they would have kept my feet nice and dry.

If you have wide calves, these are not for you. Some of the reviews said they could accomodate wide calves but mine are 16" and it was too tight with skinny jeans on. Also, they are too wide at the ankle and bunch up.

The Hunter is a great boot and provides amazing rain/snow/weather protection. I normally wear a 7.5 in regular shoes, but decided on a 6 for my pair of Hunter's. If I were to be wearing the boots primarily in the winter time with the liner inside I would have chosen a 7. But since I am was just looking for a pure rain boot I felt like my foot was way too loose in the 7 to wear normally. I was very surprised that I ended up with the size 6, and would recommend that anyone looking at Hunters try them on at a local retailer berfore ordering from Zappos.
