Love my rain boots! I usually wear an 8.5 so I ordered the 8 - there is still plenty of room for a thick sock. I needed the extra calf circumference that the Huntress offered vs the original and can easily wear skinny jeans with them. They keep my feet dry and are comfortable for my 1/2 mile walking commute every day.

Love them! The width around the calf is so much better than the regular Hunter boots, as far as fitting jeans or leggings inside. Also, I am a size 7 1/2 or 8 in shoes. The size 7 has plenty of room even for a pair of heavy socks.

These are amazing! I had been eyeing them for a long time and finally got them...they are everything they claim to be. I am only 5'2" so the tall hit me mid-knee (not the best look) the Huntress style is perfect! They are so comfortable and look so cute. I got them in green and they are pretty classic. Just bought the wellies for a trip to Michigan/Indiana since it has been snowing like crazy. I hope they keep me warm enough!

I have been putting off buying a pair of these for the longest time because of the price. Also, I did not think that I would need to purchase the wide calf but you are better off getting the Huntress simply because you can even tuck in your sweatpants or thicker socks if you need to. They are super comfortable and perfect for any outfit. They are so worth the splurge as Uggs get ruined very quickly and they soak through! Definitely buy these instead!

I love these boots! I ordered the Hunter Originals but the boot was tight on my calf. These are perfect. Perfect fit with Wellie socks or without.

Love these boots. They do run small, so I ordered multiple sizes and ended up keeping the smaller pair (one size smaller than I usually wear). They are wide calf boots, but that does not mean that they are super wide -- they fit my wider/muscular calves from dancing well but there is not spare room. I chose to get the smaller pair but would not be able to wear them with welly socks; if you want to wear welly socks order bigger but keep in mind they won't fit well without the socks.

These boots are beautiful and fit perfectly. My calf is 15 1/2 and I wanted more space for socks. I usually wear a size 8 and I ordered a size 7. The black is very glossy which I prefer to the matte rubber. Love them in the rain!

I bought these for my daughter for Christmas. They were very expensive, but also very high quality and she'll have them for a long time. She has been wearing them constantly ever since and loves them. Very practice for bad weather in Michigan.

Third time is a charm! Initially, I had ordered the Hunter Original which has a shaft height of 16". At 5'4", these boots were rubbing my knees, so I called Zappos for an exchange. I found another Hunter style that had a shaft height of 15 1/2" and Zappos had them delivered the next day! 15 1/2" shaft height was not any different, so I returned these and went with the Hunter Huntress at 13 1/2" shaft height. Zappos had these sent out the very next day! I love Zappos for their customer service and speedy delivery. The Huntress style was perfect for my 5'4" height, size 8 feet, and 13 3/4" calf size. The 8s fit true to size and was a perfect fit. I will definitely be ordering the Hunter Huntress in different colors. Love these boots for their quality and comfort!

Excellent purchase for the wider calf woman. I'm 5'2" with a 16" calf. These boots fit perfectly. Love to wear them in the rain when walking around the city. I normally wear a 6.5 and sized down since previous reviewers noted this brand runs large.

I have always loved and admired these boots. I was on the bench about buying a pair for myself due to the cost. I wish that I had bought these years ago! I purchased the red huntress and I am in love! I read the other reviews and did as they suggested and ordered down. I usually wear a 7½ in everything so I was nervous to order down, I ordered a 7. I am so glad that I did! With the welly socks it is a great fit! The socks are a bit long for the huntress style but you can work with them and get them to fold in the right spot and they look great! I ordered my boots Thursday morning and they arrived Friday afternoon! I could not believe it! I have worn them three out of the four days that I have had them, that is how much I love them! I am considering buying them in black also! I highly recommend the welly socks for cold weather without them I do believe your feet would get cold.

When these boots went on sale I took it as a sign from heaven above to buy them. I'm so glad I listened! I always wear them when the weather is appropriate, can't wait to get some Welly socks to match.

I originally ordered the Original High Gloss boot but I found that it came up too high on my knee (and I'm 5'5") and it looked odd, also like others mentioned, the opening was too snug around my calf for anything other than tights or nylons. However now that these boots arrived I am so delighted! They reach the perfect height and they are aesthetically pleasing in shape/silhouette. They fit me perfectly! I ordered black and was worried they would look like my dad's clunky firefighter boots, but these are cute! I feel like a super hero. :) Hasn't rained yet but I'm sure they'll be great, I'm confident in the Hunter brand! I've bought Sperry's and those only lasted 1yr before cracking/splitting, but these Hunters look a lot more sturdy! I also ordered an 8 and I'm usually an 8 or 8.5 and these fit well, with room for thick socks too!

Purchased for my daughter to use at college after an off-brand of rain boots fell apart within the first 3 months of college. Read the review and made size choice accordingly. This was a wise decision. Shipping time excellent. Always love Zappos!

I love these rain boots. I was tired of getting my shoes and pants completely soaked when it rained so I looked for a good pair of rain boots. These are great and I love that the leg opening is large. I had the hardest time getting the Hunter Original boots off (without my pants in the boots). The Hunter Huntress boot are perfect for fitting around my leg and for putting my jeans into the boot. However, I thought I needed the 8 but after a year or so of wearing them I think I should have gotten size 7. I always get my shoes a little bigger because I don't like my shoes snug. My mom recently got two different sizes of Hunter rain boots from Zappos and so I tried the 7's on and it confirmed that I should have gone with those to begin with. With the 8's being a little bigger my feet move back and forth a little bit and I get that burning feeling. In the next few months I will probably buy a pair of 7's and use for 8's for letting the dog out and such. So my advice is order two sizes (since Zappos offers free shipping) and keep the ones where your toes go all the way to the end. You do not need the little bit of extra room. Trust me.

This is a great boot! Love everything about it. I have wide calves and the Huntress is perfect!

Got these as a gift and I love them. I can't wait for it to rain! I had originally ordered the original talls in gray but the circumference was so tight that I couldn't wear them (so sad because they were adorable). My calf measures exactly 15". These Huntress boots have much more room in the calf. They're not so roomy that I couldn't wear them with just a bare leg, but there is plenty of room for leggings and skinny jeans. I ordered black which is fine because it is so versatile, but Hunter please make the Huntress in more fun colors! Also I wear an 8.5 but ordered an 8. It's perfect with still plenty of room for thick sock.

These replace my old, taller boots. I prefer this style, use them for gardening. Excellent experience with Zappos, super fast delivery.

I have to admit, I never thought I'd be willing to pay for Hunter boots. Then I moved to DC and sold my car. The first time I commuted to work in the cheap rain boots I'd bought for wearing around campus in college, I discovered they became horribly uncomfortable within minutes. Finally, at the end of a very rainy week after completely soaking my feet on the way to work, I decided to suck it up and buy new rain boots. I'm very short (5'3" with more height in my torso than my legs) and have muscular calves. So after reading a lot of reviews, I went with the Huntress instead of the classic Hunter boot. I'm so glad I did. The boot stops about two finger widths below my knee and they not only fit my calves, there's room to spare. That's nearly unheard of for me! As for size, I'm nearly always an 8.5 or 9 but tend towards 9 when buying boots. I was skeptical about sizing all the way down to an 8, but all the reviews said they run big and since there are no half sizes I got an 8. Even that size is a tiny bit big, but I can't imagine I'd fit in a 7, so I think I'm going to keep them. Once I actually commute in them I won't be able to return them, but they seem comfortable wearing them around my house and I can always add an insert if they need a little more arch support.

Those of us with larger calves, Huntress to the rescue! I am 5'5" and average weight, but I have huge muscular calves for some inexplicable reason. The Original felt like a sausage casing and the Huntress fits like a rainboot! Definitely measure your calves before making a choice, especially if you usually have trouble fitting into tall boots. The Huntress is a great boot for those of us who can't fit the Original though, and people don't even notice. I've had the gloss black Huntress for 2 years now and I love them. They were the first shoes/boots I bought when I moved to Boston and they have served me well in the rain, snow, sleet, slush, hail, etc. Of course, like other rainboots, they don't have any arch support, but I've walked several blocks in them just wearing socks and they're comfortable enough.

this is a fantastic boot. the color is lovely. not too bright but just enough pop. I am 5'2" so the shorter shaft of the huntress feels perfect for me. the boot is pricier than other options but already I feel like these are going to last a lifetime. the quality is much higher than other rain boots that I've purchased in the past and had to replace the next year. I'm really looking forward to more rainy days with these boots!

The "Huntress" boot is a little shorter than the "Original". I found that these ran about a size too big (as did the Originals). I had to return mine because they were literally sliding off my feet. I will reorder in a smaller size.

BEAUTIFUL BOOTS! Besides being stylish, these boots are well-made, durable, and comfortable. Hunter may be on the pricier side, but it is totally worth the extra money! I bought a different brand of rainboots last year for a price that ripped on the bottom side from just walking. This led me to invest more in a pair of rainboots that were better in quality and wouldn't rip so quickly. SIZING: Going with the European shoe size is more accurate than US size. I ordered a US size 7 but when the boots came in the mail, it said the European equivalent of US size 7 was size 38. My European shoe size is actually 37, and so the boots I ordered were one size too big. I exchanged them for a US size 6 and they fit perfectly. So I think the size conversions are a bit off on this shoe, because size 6 would usually be way to small for me.

I am very happy with these boots. I consider myself an average woman (5'5" and 135 lbs, calf 15 1/4"). I needed a good pair of rain boots to go slogging through creeks with my family. I've been giving these boots a workout and they've been great. I ordered a size 7, my normal size. They do run large, and fit well with double tube socks. I can easily tuck in any pair of jeans or cords. If you live in a warmer climate, you might want to order a size smaller, but spring is cold here in NJ and I have cold feet. I often wear double socks, so I'm comfy. I saw other reviews that said these boots have no support, but I don't agree. I've really been hiking in them, for several hours at a stretch, and believe me I would end up with a charlie horse if they lacked support. Finally, style: no, I don't look like a long-legged supermodel, because these boots don't have magic powers. But Huntress is a real option for averaged-sized women who want to participate in this style trend and feel cute. Go for it!

Firstly they run a size big so if you wear an eight I'd suggest a seven. They are the most comfortable boot I have ever bought, I love them entirely! The calf area is a little on the wide side for me but I have skinny legs so it's no surprise. Besides the calf they are lovely.
