These performed well in slushy rain to snow conditions in Oregon. I was concerned with slipping as others stated but had no problem. They run true to size. They are nice looking and comfortable. I am eager to wear them with skirts!

Love these boots!! I typically wear a 9.5 in most shoes, sometimes 9. I typically buy Merrells in a 9.5. I ordered these boots in a 9.5 and they were very floppy in the heel so I exchanged for a 9 and they fit perfect. After wearing a couple days they stretched out but are still very comfortable. I almost feel I could have went with a 8.5 if I only wanted to wear thinner socks. Right now they are perfect fit for mid weight to thick socks. I would recommend these to everyone looking for a casual boot that you can also dress up if you wanted.

Seems like a nice boot, but although I measured my calf circumference a 15 inches and this is supposed to be a 15 inch calf, even with the stretchy insert I could not zip it more than half way. Otherwise it's a very good looking boot.

Love, love, love these boots! I originally bought these boots in brown, and loved them so much I bought them in black. They are the most comfortable/stylish boots I have ever worn, and I absolutely love them. I've had no problems with them at all and they have held up an entire season (fall, winter, spring) and worn them regularly (at least 3-5 days per week). This year I cleaned them and waterproofed them with a solution. I anticipate I will have these for a long time to come!

Bought these for my mom and she has a wider foot. She was looking for a comfortable boot without sacrificing the style! :) Absolutely loved these! Didn't need to break them in they were comfortable from day one.

This shoe has a lot of depth to it, I wear a Birkenstock blue foot bed in mine as I felt they did not provide adequate arch support and I needed to take up some of the depth. If you have a high instep, this would be a great boot due to that. I actually have the low version of this boot, but it's no longer available so I'll just give my opinion on this one, they're pretty much the same aside from the shaft height. I like the little bit of adjustable in the calf, it makes it go from pants to leggings very easy without being either too tight or too gappy. The style is great, subtly Keen without the big ol' toe (which generally I like, but sometimes you want to look a little less utilitarian) I often get compliments on them, they're very easy to wear and generally I like them. But! Because there's always a but with these things I wish Keen would use a nice removable foot bed in their boots! I have this and the Clara high boot and both are this memory foam nonsense. If they were to put the same foot bed they have in the Presidio (and same sturdy, durable shank, I love that shoe) in all their shoes, I'd be one happy camper. And this sole is just terrible. Hard as a rock, so hey it's durable, but SO slippery. It's just...it's just stupid. I really can't understand why they'd use it. I guess I like the authoritative clack it has on hard floors, so there's that. You know how Scooby-Doo runs in place for a bit before he bolts from the bad guy? You kind of do that if you try to take off walking too quickly.

Keen, you broke my heart again! The style of this boot is fantastic. I purchased in Forest Night and it is a really great looking boot. The foot also fit great and was so comfortable. However, there is no way that these boots were gonna zip. I don't know where Keen thinks a woman's calf starts but its not three inches above the ankle, cause that's where these boots made it clear that no zipping was going to happen. My calf totally fit into the top of the boot, but the slope of the boot did not provide any where near enough room. I wish Keen would extend the elastic goring down the entire length of the boot so everyone could get a good fit.

I have three pairs of these boots. My first pair, in black, developed a nasty split on the foot sole on the bottom of the boot. I sent a picture of it to KEEN and they replaced the boots without any hassle. My second pair has developed the very same split, and I've seen other women with the same problem. I love these boots, they accommodate my insoles, they are stylish and comfy, but I won't be buying anymore due to the sole problem.

I wanted to love these. They are beautiful out of the box, and smelled fantastic. I've had good success with Keens in the past. This Bern Baby Bern boot is very uncomfortable in the ankle and calf. They cut into my ankles when walking, and going up and down stairs was almost impossible. The footbed was perfect and very comfortable. No weird rubbing, not too tight, not too loose. The ankle seams hurt, very strange because they are too loose. and the calf was just too tight. Might fit someone, just not me

I had my eye on these boots for awhile (like, umm, two years) and finally decided to take the plunge. I can't say enough good things about this versatile, comfortable, well-made boot. I walk about a mile-and-a-half to work and back every day, and usually wear running shoes. In the rainy Seattle winter, that's not ideal. Wellies don't work for me because they don't have enough arch support, but I really need something waterproof. These are amazing. One, waterproof. Two, the footbed and arch are cushioned, supportive and very, very comfortable. I wear them all day without any discomfort. Three, I'm not a big fan of Keens as a fashion statement, but the signature Keen 'toe' is not obvious. Four, they are wide enough to tuck your jeans into, but snug enough (and those buckles at the top function, they're not just decorative) to wear with tights or leggings without feeling like the boot is flopping around. I live in a place where we wear boots 9 months out of the year (if not more) and these are truly awesome. Well worth the investment. For sizing... I have very wide feet and usually wear a 9 1/2 M or a 9 W. I have these in 9 1/2 M and have plenty of room for bulky wool socks. The fit is almost like a Dansko and my foot moves around, but it doesn't rub or feel uncomfortable.

I love these boots! I bought these three years ago and have abused the heck out of them by stomping though salty Minnesota snow and ice, and yet they still look great. I have done little to maintain them other then a leather cleaner once a year. They provide ample room for my wide feet and do not crowd my toes (a pet peeve of mine). I wear them over skinny jeans just fine. With the addition of a pair of wool socks I am ready to go sledding with the kids.

I love these. I broke my heel in March (7 months ago). I still can't wear heals or my older boots. I usually wear clogs every day. Now it's fall and i wanted boots. These are so comfortable and the green is cool and different!

Wore this boot on a recent trip to France and Switzerland and it's comfortable enough to walk around all day in flat or rough terrain. They look cute and fit well over my average (more muscle than skinny) calves.

Love the style and comfort of this boot, but it doesn't look good if your calves don't fill up the space. I am 5'-6" and 135lbs with 14" calves. There was too much of a gap between my calf and the boot...just didn't look good with leggings, so they are going back. I'm bummed.

I bought this boot from another site to get the purplie color. I love this boot. It seems true to size and so stylish! They really turn heads. I just ordered a second pair in Oak to match up to my distressed lambskin jacket. These dress up or down, and have room to wear over skinny jeans, but not so wide that I can't wear them with tights and skirts. I have a narrow foot, so I wear socks with these boots. I have enough room to add additional arch support when needed.

I've got many Keen shoes and always order the same size. Unfortunately the calf part of this boot was a bit too tight and I don't think they'll stretch that much to be comfortable. I'm returning because I don't want to go up a size. I feel they won't fit right in the foot bed of boot if I do that.

I love these boots. I tend to wear heels and I really felt that it was time for me to have some stylish non-heeled boots for everyday wear. I love them. I wear them with skirts, with skinny pants tucked in and under pants--the are insanely versatile. I love the style of them, the buckle detail, the ankle support and the grippy-ness of the soles. I have (accidentally) gone hiking in them, I wore them for 5 days at Burning Man and continue to wear them all over the city. I have wide feet, with a narrow ankle. I found these boots fit me perfectly in my standard shoe size. Now I need to get myself a pair in my favorite color... ORANGE.

From all the great reviews I wanted to love these boots, but honestly they are just...weird. For a few reasons. First, even though they zip down quite far, when I slip my foot in the lining tugs on my sock and makes it really tight around my toes (does that make sense?). Second, they feel quite a bit smaller than most 8.5 Keens I've worn, and I've worn a lot. With that and the sock tugging issue, these boots make me feel trapped - like I can't wait to get them off. Third, they break in a funny spot on my ankle that just doesn't feel good, and seems like it'll make the ankle section creased and frumpy over time. And fourth, they just don't have a lot of shape or style, especially around the foot. They look a bit like a rain boot, just kind of shapeless and blah. I like flat/no heel shoes, but the soles on these are so flat and shapeless they look like slabs on my feet. The two buckles on the top are nice, but not enough to give the rest of the boot much style. I'm not a big fashion girl, but Keen usually puts a little more design into their shoes/boots. Would love to see some cool stitching or just a bit more shape to make them more interesting and more comfortable. These Bern Babies are going back.

I have issues with arthritis in one of my big toes, it hardly moves, and found these boots last year, and can't say enough good things about them. They are the most comfortable, sweet boot I've owned. I'm going to buy the black ones this year. No problems with slipping or them slouching down like one of my other boots. I put these on and felt like I was walking on clouds. Perfect. Can wear them all day. And they are very attractive.

Just had to confirm what another review said. I have a pair of these boots (brown mid-calf version from 2011/2012 season) and it's almost like the sole is "anti-traction." They've been great for the cold of winter, but I never wear them if it's going to be slick. A slippery floor isn't safe either. I do like them well enough that I've logged on in hopes of finding a pair of black mid-calfs. The sole is getting roughed up pretty quickly so they main gain some traction.

Love these boots! They are very comfortable and I love that the calf size is adjustable with the buckle and strap. I ordered a size 8 and I wear 6.5 to 7 in shoes, but I like to wear thick socks with boots.

I have loved these boots, and have worn them while sight-seeing and walking long distances. I liked them so much I bought a pair in black and brown. In one year, the soles on both pairs has cracked at the ball of my foot, all the way through. While I have put the brown pair through a lot of long walks, I haven't done that with both pairs, and I didn't wear them at all from May to September. I love the fit of Keens, but they need to start making durable soles!

Love these boots. Have had trouble finding boots that fit my average size calves. These are snug, but they do stretch with use. I am on my feet all day at work, and my feet and legs never feel tired wearing these boots.

I love these boots! They are comfortable and cute, and not too loose on my calfs like some other winter boots. I love that they are waterproof. The insole is cushy and the style accommodates my high instep. I just wish the insoles were removable, so I could replace them if I need more arch support. But overall a great option that I can wear in the rainy season with skirt or skinny jeans. they also fit under boot cut jeans.
