I have wider calves (about 15.5 to 16) and wider feet, so I was worried about the fit. However, my past experience with Keens and the 15.5" shaft circumference gave me hope, not to mention Zappos' easy return process. I decided to just order them and I am so very glad I did. The leather shaft did stretch enough that I was actually able to wear the boots over tights and skinny jeans. The foot bed is substantial and does provide support, so I didn't experience heel pain as I sometimes would standing for long periods. However, I might add an additional arch support. The sole had solid traction and was stable on wood, tile, cement, and NYC sidewalks. Just FYI, I am usually a 6.5 W, so I ordered a 7 M, and it worked out fine. I wore them around the house a bit to stretch them out, and they now fit perfectly.

The buckles are purely decorative! I've had trouble finding boots that aren't too wide for my calf and ordered these thinking at least they'd be adjustable. Sure enough, they're too big around and when I tried to tighten using the buckles it became obvious that they're not meant to be functional. The boots were also very baggy in the ankles and not as cushy as I'd expect Keens to be. Nice color, though.

These boots rock. I did not have any size problems. They fit my calves and feet just fine. They have room for even jeans to be tucked in. They look great and they are super comfortable. I have not stopped wearing them since I got them!

I bought these boots in the grey color. I was expecting something similar in quality to the pair of Keen boots that I already have. I was very disappointed when I got them. The "leather" was very stiff, unlike my other pair. They made a horrible squeaking noise when I walked...not the boots themselves but the friction between the bottom of the boot and the floor. Also, the description says they are lined in leather. These were not. It was some sort of black foam type material. I sent them back the very next day.

These boots are very nice to look at. The black leather is quality, and the buckle straps add interest to the calves. After reading the reviews, I decided to order my usual Keen size, and glad I did, as they fit me with heavy socks. However, the boots seem very narrow in the ankle and tight in the calves, even though I do not have wide ankles or calves. The zipper is sturdy and of very good quality, unlike many boots nowadays. The bottom of the boot is typical Keen with the swoopy odd toe, but I figure that will hold up no matter what I have to walk through this fall and winter. Even though I like these boots, I am undecided if I will keep them due to the "Herman Munster" look of the foot part of the boot, and the tight fit in my ankle and calf.

I've had these boots for more than a year and want to love them. I like the way they fit (snug but nit too snug) and I get tons of compliments on them. However, if you are looking for a sole with traction, these are not the boots for you. I have fallen twice in these and injured myself both times. Currently I am looking to replace them with a boot with more traction, and since the last time I fell in them I scraped the leather on the side of one of the boots beyond repair.

Love it but I'm going to exchange for a smaller size. Sometimes I wear a 5.5 but I'm going to try the 5. Even with thick socks the 5.5 is a little large. Based on comments that if it's a little tight in the beginning, it will stretch/conform, I think the 5 will be better, especially in winter when feet seem smaller.

Bern Baby Bern is a great fall/winter boot. The sole is great for winter weather, including polar vortex events. The adjustable belts at the top look good when tightened. I have skinny calves and searched everywhere for a boot that didn't leave a 5 inch gap around my leg. The shoes have a wide toe box which makes it easy to layer socks in winter. I bought these boots because of the beautiful camel color. The leather is high quality and durable.

I got these boots last fall and love them. I didn't find them slippery at all. I live in Iowa and we had a rough winter. Great boots!

Good looking and comfortable boots. The green color is unique, but I find it relatively versatile. The heel is gentle and easy for walking and standing all day.

These definitely have a casual style. If you're looking for something even moderately dressy, these are not it. Comfortable but clown like. Also have a strong leather odor that has not diminished in the 8 months I've had them.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this shoe runs quite small. I am a true 6, so I ordered a 6 anyway, figuring maybe I just wouldn't wear thick socks with it. I could barely get my foot inside the boot and zip it up. So they went back and I got a 7, which I can even wear with thick socks. They're very comfortable as well as stylish. Love the buckles and the shape. I ordered them on sale at the end of the season, so I can't speak to how much they'll keep my feet warm. Definitely worth it, especially at the sale price. Originally I bought them in the orange color, which was a rich, pretty shade, but the 7s were only available in the dark green color. Ultimately I think the orange ones, though pretty, would show more scuffs and scrapes, so I'm happy with the less flashy but perhaps more durable green.

I bought these shoes a couple years ago -- I was looking for some really comfortable, durable waterproof shoes that would still look stylish (I live in NYC and do a lot of walking through wet winter streets). In the beginning they seemed great. But I was frustrated with how quickly the quality started to degrade. The material started to sag, especially around the ankle, which made them look more "chunky" and less sleek. Then as the material started to bunch around the ankle, the zippers got damaged would constantly get stuck. Then, the final nail in the coffin -- the soles started to crack, which made them functionally not waterproof anymore because the liquid would seep through from the bottom and make my feet wet. I took them to a shoe repair shop hoping they could fix the soles, but there wasn't anything to be done short of replacing the entire sole, which at that point was not worth the money and would alter the design of the shoe. So in the end, these lasted me less than year, which was pretty disappointing.

These boots are comfortable and stand up to a little water. The width at the top is a slightly big for my smallish calves. The buckles are only for decoration and don't work to make the opening smaller. Overall a great casual boot!

Great boots! The color is a beautiful caramel and the height is really nice. The soles are a little slick on carpet but I didn't have any trouble on other surfaces. I think they will rough up a little over time and be less slick on carpet. I always wear a half size larger than normal in Keen shoes and this is true for this boot too.

I bought these about 2 years ago and they were comfortable right out of the box. I had no trouble with it fitting my calves which can be a bit muscular. I bought them for their looks and that they were waterproof for my outdoors kind of lifestyle. The two issues that came up in my owning them were: A. Soles were too slick, you need to be careful on certain surfaces. B. The zipper went out at the ankle recently. It popped a tooth which was bad because I was traveling. These are great boots except for those two things. The zipper on both kind of always stuck a little at the ankle because of the creases. I just hope I can get them fixed!

These boots are amazing. Great fit and very durable. Love the color and top straps. Great with leggings, jeans, & dresses. 5 stars all around. I wanted them but they were expensive. The sale price made it all worth it.

I love these boots! I have big (15 inch) calves and the boots were a little snug at first, but stretched out within the first couple days. Also wore these out on a really slushy/snowy day and my feet stayed warm and dry the whole time. I usually wear size 7-8, and the 7.5 fits great! Highly recommend as fashionable and functional boots!

I absolutely fell in love with these boots! Once you stretch & break them in a bit, they fit like a glove. Walked New York for 4 1/2 days in them & couldn't believe how great they felt. I cut hair for a living & can stand in them all day! My favorite pair of support shoes!

These boots are so comfortable! They also will keep your feet dry (even in a downpour), and still look good after getting wet. My only complaint is that the actual circumference was not quite as big as I anticipated, and I almost sent them back because I did not think that I would be able to zip them up all the way over my calves. I had to stretch them and work really hard to zip them all the way the first several times. They have stretched out a little bit, but I cannot wear them over anything thicker than leggings. Other than being a little tight, they are great boots!

I've been waiting for these to go on sale for about 3 years, so I snatched them up when they did and I love them. They are so comfortable, fit my calves well, and look great with just about everything. They were a little loose in the heel initially but the more I wear them it seems the leather conforms to my feet and they don't slide anymore. The color is wonderful, the tread is good, and I love that the rubber covers part of the toe, which is always the first part of shoes I scuff. I'll ever these for years.

I love these boots except the zipper is defective. The first time I wore them, on the right boot there was a three inch gap (opening) in the zipper. Then the zipper worked fine for a week or so, so I thought it was a fluke, but now the zipper is malfunctioning every single time I try to zip it. Sometimes it takes ten tries to get the zipper to stay together for the full zip. So I anticipate that eventually it will completely fail. So I have to return it.

I don't have especially skinny legs, but when I tried these boots on with tight jeans that tuck inside them, my spouse said, "It kind of looks like you're standing in two buckets." It's a shame, because they look great up to just above the ankle. Also didn't work under a long skirt or pants as a result of how broad they are at the top.

I love these. I got the Cathay Spice light brown color on sale, and they look great -- stylish yet functional for casual wear. They are so comfortable and fit my athletic calf much better than most high boots. The color is really nice, has a vintage casual style to it. I suspect I could wear them all day without them hurting my feet.
