I love these boots but at the end of my second winter wearing them, the sole split completely in half. Can't be fixed. I did nothing unusual in them. I'd hope they would last longer than this.

Love these boots! Ordered them for a day-long trip to NYC in this endless snowy winter, because I was expecting long walks, in bitter cold, on snowy urban streets. I wore them around the house the day before, enough to know they wouldn't create any sore spots anywhere, then wore them all the next day. Warm, comfortable, great color, good-looking...fabulous boots!!

I was lucky enough to try on my sister's Baby Bern Boots first so I knew they'd fit perfectly before ordering my own. I have a pair in Black and one in Green, and have worn them for 2 years. I wear a size 9 and have large calves and I've had no issues zipping these boots up over socks or tights (the usual method). T hey are definitely not a substitute for good snow boots but I navigated slushy, icy streets on my way to work without much difficulty. Style wise, they're not super dressy but work with jeans or office attire perfectly.

For the reviewer who pointed out snidely that the buckles are adjustable: even w/ them completely undone I could not get this zipped over my calves. My calves may not be skinny but I am certainly not fat - and this was w/o even leggings on. If you have skinny calves give them a shot, otherwise forget it.

I bought these boots for a spring European vacation. Therefore, I needed something that was warm, water resistant, comfortable and above all, stylish. This fit all the requirements. They were comfortable right away. Be mindful of your calf size. If I have to be critical, the boot digs a little on the inside of my left ankle. I don't have cankles so I think it's just the way the zipper lays. It doesn't occur on my right boot. I think stuffing it to keep its shape had helped. Otherwise this is my go to boots. They match well with everything.

Very comfortable well fitting boots. They are very casual cute and good for everyday wear. They do have a sort of rain boot like look to them but the buckles counteract that.

I put them on and did not want to take them off! This is my second pair of Keen boots. I still have the pair I bought 7 years ago and they are still in great shape and comfortable. These boots are just as great. I like the styling -- another reviewer mentioned they didn't have the typical boxy Keen toe which was what sold me on them. I like that look but wanted a dressier boot which I think these are. (Note: they are perhaps not as dressy as a classic hard-soled riding boot, but they are stylish and the comfort more than made up for the slightly more casual line.) I walked several miles the first day I had them and it was like they'd been broken in for me. I did find my foot slid around a little bit and so put some sole inserts in which made them even more comfortable. I would highly recommend these boots.

Excellent boots, exactly what i have wanted for many years. I was scared they'd be too small, but the leather soon gave way to pressure from bunions and hammer toes, and are shaping themselves to my peculiar old feet, plus I feel very chic wearing them with skirts. The sole is good, not slippery.

I really like the design of these boots. They are sporty and functional as well as stylish. I feel like I can dress them up or wear them in casual / sporty type situations. I do think they run a little big. I usually wear 8.0 or 8.5. I originally got these in 8.5 and after a couple wears they stretched out a bit and were too big. I exchanged for 8.0 and those are fine. I know some other reviews complained of lack of grip/traction on bottom of boots. That hasn't been an issue.

I have bigger calves, so these boots are at the minimum of what I can still zip up. If I want to tuck in pants legs, then I have to wearing leggings or jeans that hug by calves. However, these are the best boots that I have ever worn by far. They are so comfortable and I have had no problem at all with the grip on them. The leather continues to stretch and soften with wear, so they are even more comfortable than the first week I owned them (I have had for one month now). I am wearing them everywhere and finding that they are the only shoes that I want to wear in this cold Indiana winter. They are super cute, and I get a lot of compliments on them. I wear a 7½ in normal dress shoes but always order an 8 in Keens. This was the same. I highly recommend them. But just be cautioned if you have large calves! This was the only reason that I gave them four out of five stars for overall.

I love these boots! Have two pairs and for 2 years - great for winter dog walking on city streets. The sole can be a bit slippery on ice - but then what isn't? The boots are warm, dry, comfortable - I can wear them forever and I have bunions - ugly feet that aren't always easy to fit. Thanks Keen!

I am sending these back, but I really like the look and feel of these boots. I am usually between 8-8.5 and I ordered 8.5 in these, but probably should have ordered down instead. But the real reason I am sending them back is because they have a strange slouch around my ankle. I'm not sure if it's because my ankle is pretty bony that it makes it look weird or if it's a natural part of the boot. But for the price, I want them to be perfect so they're going back.

I love the beautiful gray color of this boot. It can work for both casual and a more dressy look. I'm a pharmacist, on my feet all day and these boots are great for workdays. The boot was snug on my calf, but they give just a little after you get them zipped. I am able to wear with my jeans tucked in. Someone mentioned that the sole was slippery...there does not seem to be any traction on them, but I have not noticed any problems under normal or wet conditions. Have not tested them on ice, yet, though. I love these boots, glad I made this purchase!

I bought this "same" boot three years ago. Loved everything about them. They were a great winter boot. I was very disappointed when I opened the box and saw the "new" version of the Bern Boot. Looks really cheap with its shinier finish. No contrast stitching on front shaft or back of heal. No fleece lining thus the '2' for comfort. Sending them back. :(

Man, I really wanted to love these boots. My co-worker has them in black and I got them in Oak. Super cute. Really have that nice large toe box, non-skid sole and so forth. But I have to say the tight ankle zipper really cut into my ankles. The zipper kind of sags inward and really pinched hard. I wore them around my bedroom for two hours and I ended up with mild, but sensitive bruising. Had to go back to Zappos. I ended up buying some Pikolino Brujos though, which worked out very well for me!

I've had these for 1 year and I've been satisfied, but not enough so to repurchase them. Comfort is pretty good, but does not have the excellent arch support that Keens used to boast. They aren't flat, but could be more supported. Leather wear: The leather does not stay looking nice for long. I use a leather lotion on them nearly every time I wear them. They scuff so easily. I've seen a few other people wearing the light tan they had a few years ago in the same style and theirs looked so weathered! The ankle and foot takes the brunt of the wear. For myself, the calf fits tightly so the ankle section is always bending and stretching with walking and movement so the ankle is worn the most and bunches when they are on. I've very careful around our dog because all it takes is one paw to make them look dry and scuffed. I do still get some compliments on them so they must not look too bad. Traction: fair to good; better than many boots out there, but not phenomenal. Calf size is slightly larger than normal, but not enough to be considered wide. The gorring is nice. Warmth: fair to good. I wear wool socks with them. The thick sole protects from the cold ground, but the air temp does cool down the leather so warm socks are great.

Zappos, thanks for letting me return so many boots before finding the right pair. One of the reviews mentioned these boots being slippery so I almost didn't try them. They're very comfortable with a moderate arch support & lots of toe room. A bit tight at the ankle but hopefully will stretch a bit with wear. The zipper was stiff, but they're keepers if you want comfort over high fashion yet still cute.

Nice boots. Seemed a tad tight for Keen, but they are working out great. Love the style. The calf is a bit loose which is exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend.

I enjoyed these adorable boots for about a year and a half (about two seasons a year), wore with skirts, pants, got complimented on them and they were so comfortable. But the sole cracked at the ball of the foot, which really surprised and disappointed me. I let Keen know in hopes that they'd pay attention to the durability of the sole in the future. So much for waterproof or even water-resistant after that. I couldn't continue to use them. Fortunately the wonderful store where I bought them reimbursed me for them.

I love these boots! For years I'd steered away from Keens as they never quite seemed fashionable enough, but this pair is a winner. From the moment I put them on they fit perfectly; the footbed is supportive and I have just the right amount of space around my ankle - something that often feels cramped in many boots. They're comfortable, warm, and just right for the rainy and wet fall and winter of Oregon. The gray color's lovely, and the buckles lie flat and - so far - don't catch on and cause runs in my tights. My 14" calf fits just right, with just enough room for tights, leggings, or skinny jeans. If they were slightly dressier, I'd order a second pair in black!

These boots are extremely comfortable and look really nice. I wear them often with jeans or leggings/tights and dresses or skirts. Great for spring, fall, and most of winter, actually. I have taken them on trips to Europe and worn them daily for lots of walking, they are so comfy that it's not a problem. Which brings me to the my only issue with the boots. I have owned them for a little over a year, and with all the walking I do, the sole is starting to wear. Totally normal. Since the outsole is one piece of molded rubber, it can't be replaced. Which means that after another season the sole will be worn so much that I can't wear them anymore and in the meantime the boots is in perfect, lovely, condition. That's why I give them only 2 stars. I'll have to throw them away when the boot top is in perfect condition because they can't be re-soled.

These boots are really good looking and feel great on. I should have read the description better, though, as you can't remove the insoles to accommodate orthotics, and if you've got scrawny calves like me (13 inches at my widest point) these will look ridiculous on you. I'm really bummed about returning them, as they were exactly what I was looking for, but they don't fit my orthotics and they're way too wide in the calf.
