I've been looking to replace older Keen boots that I love for a while, so I decided to give these a try. I have thin calves and slender legs, and these did not work at all for me. Around my foot, they felt great and were super-comfy, but my leg was swimming in them and they just looked silly. They are also pretty stiff and sporty-looking, and wear more like a snow boot than something that might work with dresses or skirts. (Which I had been hoping for.) I returned these, and I'll keep trying.

I own Keen sandals in a 9.5. I don't wear them with socks. Since I was ordering the boots for winter, I thought I'd give myself more "wiggle" room, and ordered the size 10. I'm glad I did. They feel yummy on, very chic. I won't know how they hold up to the elements, here in Maine, for several weeks, but I'm fairly confident I'm going to be glad I have them. And the purple? Non traditional, and I'm glad I went with it.

I am happy with these boots, and will be happy if they last for several years. They are a little more casual than I anticipated, and when I walked for 4+ miles in them, they gave me blisters. But I should have worn thicker socks.

I love the boots and they're perfect for winter. The calves were a little tight but not enough for me to send them back. They stretched within a week or two. I am still breaking them in and I've had them about a month, but they are comfortable.

Just got these today. The brown leather is very pretty and darker than expected or shown (a good thing!) but very stiff. This is my first pair of leather boots, maybe ever (I usually buy fake leather to save money), so maybe leather is always stiff. They feel sort of like casts! On my feet! I needed something that looked good with fleece jackets & jeans as well as nicer tops as I'm a mom running around in a minivan, but I didn't want hiking/rugged either. These definitely fit the bill, but wish the foot part was more shaped. It's sort of pod-like. I'm petite, not overweight, but have "sturdy" ankles and wider calves, so I have a terrible time finding boots that actually fit. These fit well around my calves but I can't tuck my boot cut jeans in. They're comfortable and definitely warm. I'm keeping these for sure but hope they break in and get softer, especially around the ankles where it's so stiff. These are not dress-up boots but I'd wear them with my jean skirts & tights, leggings, skinny jeans, and under boot cut pants and jeans. If they are actually water resistant, what a bonus!

This show was very comfortable, but is a pretty casual shoe and I'm not sure it is suitable for work or would look nice with dresses/skirts. It is beautiful however, and if I had a good use for it, I would keep it.

I'm pretty happy with these boots, as with all of my Keen purchases. They initially gave me blisters, and I nearly returned them. I'm glad I didn't, a short break in is OK for a good quality boot. They are very comfortable now. They are pretty warm too, even without insulation. With warm socks, I went for a 3 mile walk in 20 degree weather, part of it through snow, with no problem. My feet stayed warm and dry. This surprised me, as these seem more like fashion boots than functional winter gear. I like the way they look, and the practical heel is perfect. I want a little height, but can't go with a tall heel as a practical matter. I fully expect to get many years from these, so I can justify the expense. If it helps anyone, I wear womens size 8, in average width. I have fairly skinny calves, and the fit is fine. I can cram boot cut jeans inside the boot calf, or wear them over the boot comfortably. Both look good. Although I haven't yet, I could wear these with leggings or tights and they would look great. I kinda like showing off the top of these boots though, the detailing is nice. I would guess if you have a wide calf, beware if a tight fit. These seem to be made for my skinny calves. Overall, this is a good buy.

I bought these in both a 10 and 10.5 (I normally wear a 10, but sometimes 10 wide). The 10's fit great, with plenty of extra room for thick socks and even insoles (the arches are not great in the boots by themselves for my high arches). The 10.5's were definitely too big, so I'm not sure why so many people say to order a half size bigger. They are great, mostly comfortable boots that I will wear all through the fall and winter with jeans (only skinny jeans or leggings would fit underneath and I have average calves), skirts, and dresses with leggings or tights. Great for work or running around! I wish the traction was better; for a winter boot it's pretty bad, but not bad enough to be a deal-breaker.

This is a very comfortable boot; however, I had to return the product because the boot was way too big over my calves (I have very small calves).

Toe box was too small for we, which is unusual for Keens. Also the arch support was too far back towards the heel of the boot to provide support for my arch, which again is unusual for Keens. Otherwise the boot looked great, and I was sad to have to send it back.

Making them work. Was looking for a stylish, comfortable, tall version of my Merrell boots. Keen's have an awkward fit: wide in the heel, and narrow in the toe. Ordered my regular size, but have to wear my thickest socks & put heel pads in to make them work. Had them a month, and they are loosening up, but still not comfortable enough to wear all day. Good quality leather, but lots of pieces, including a seam right down the middle of the front. Nice looking boots, but overall, just okay.

These are great looking boots and I'm sad that they just do not fit. Too narrow toe box, slip at my heels, and wide at calf top. And I have 14 1/2 inch calves!

I bought these hoping for something I could wear with both skirts and jeans. These fit the bill, loved the look, great with tights and skirt and great with skinny jeans. The color, oak, was as pictured, leather stitching on the front and back was a nice detail but they were huge on my calves. The adjustable buckles are a stylistic detail not a functional one as the leather bunched up when I tried to tighten them and I had to send them back. If you have smaller calves these are not the boots for you.

I feel like an anomaly writing this review. I love Keens and own 5 pairs in a variety of styles, all 7.5. I find this shoe a little to narrow for my foot, even though the length is fine. It is super cute; but does not feel like a sneaker or even other Keen shoes that I own. It is tight and not particularly flexible nor does it have good arch support. I am considering returning it for an 8 because on one boot, I can see the shape of my little toe poking out. Overall they are nice leather, fairly easy to get my foot in and out of (however, I do need to wear thin socks). I have a little less than a 15-inch calf. I really want these to work!

The reviewer who says the black boot has faux fur inside must have accidentally ordered the "Bern" boot, not the "Bern Baby Bern" boot. The Bern Baby Bern style is smooth leather on the inside. It's a nice shoe, but I wanted it to be more comfortable than it was. I have Keen hiking boots that are like sliding into slippers, these weren't quite that. (Too much to ask, maybe). But it was really comfortable. I thought the style was too casual to dress up with a skirt or dress--it looked nice with jeans tucked in, though. I have really wide calves that don't fit in most regular boots--but aren't wide enough for the "extended calf" styles. (About 16" in circumference). This boot fit like a glove. Because the foot area was so wide and shapeless, and I didn't feel it would transition from play-time to work-time, I sent it back, but if I had money for two pairs of knee-high boots, this would be my second choice.

These boots are very comfortable and look great but they are not good in snow or on slick ground. I wish I had noticed the smooth soles before wearing them outside because I would have (very reluctantly) returned them. If snow/ice is not an issue where you live, these are cute, comfortable, true to size, and well priced. Unfortunately, as a Coloradan who sees a lot of snow, I now have to save up for a new pair of boots with some sort of traction.

These shoes were gorgeous but did not fit me at all, even though I have other Keen's and ordered the same size as I normally do (10). I have a wide foot and usually don't have any problem with Keen, but these were extremely too narrow for me. My foot is also thick and that was a problem. If you have a normal or narrow foot and slender calves, this shoe will probably be fine for you. I wish they had fit like other Keen shoes.

This boot just didn't work for me. I wanted an everyday boot that still had some style. The toe shape is strange, and it just doesn't look stylish. Back it goes.

This is a very pretty boot, but has an odd fit and my calves were swimming in the shaft, but my toes were being squeezed in the shoe. I don't own a single shoe or boot in a wide size, so I was wondering who these boots were made to fit... Otherwise, they are beautiful. The leather and the color is great, but the fit just did not do it for me.

I am through my second pair...good thing these have a warranty because the inside falls apart if you wear them daily in just a few weeks. Bummer cause they are so cute and comfy. Oh, and I could use my orthotic in them. Too bad both pairs had to fall apart.

These boots were very cute, but you better have skinny calves! Could not get the zipper up even half way! Sadly, had to return them.

I love the fit and the look of these boots, but the first pair I received had a defective zipper (which I read a review that someone had the same issue) and of course Zappos took care of it right away. I love their customer service! Then once I received the exchange and actually put them on the soles are horrible! I think if you live in a place where it snows and there is lots of ice you would be on your butt most of the time. Even on my carpet they got no traction. If you live somewhere where it's mostly fall and no winter then I would buy these boots in a heartbeat! Just not a practical winter boot, sadly. I got the purple color and I love this color. Could go with anything!

Beautiful and comfortable boot but way too wide in the calf for me. They make me look like a little kid wearing my parent's boots. Very comfortable footbed. Soles are way too slippery!

The boot fit fine but it's just really big around the calf. My leg feels swallowed by the boot.

Not a good fit. Sole was extremely hard, inflexible, without traction. Not the norm for Keens. I have narrow feet and I felt these ran a bit narrow, however heel was normal size. Overall boot was stiff. Cute but just not comfy to keep.
