I absolutely LOVE Keen shoes, but this boot was one I couldn't buy. The sole is so slippery that I was sliding around on the dry carpet in the store. Imagine going down in a slick spot on the street, or in a grocery store... NOT! Total bummer. Why did Keen do this? NO TRACTION!

I've had these boots for 2 years now and I absolutely love them. Normally a size 6.5 but I ordered a 7 to accommodate my 15" calves and they fit like a dream. I can wear these for miles, walk down icy Chicago sidewalks, romp through puddles and nothing disturbs me in these boots. In deep winter months heavy socks are needed, and if you're working on your feet all day an arch-support insole might be helpful. Overall this is a great boot. I get tons of compliments on them and the Oak color has worn beautifully over the years.

These are quite possibly the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I have 3 pairs I love them so much.I have had them for 2 years and they still look great. I wear these more than any other shoe or boot I own. Definitely the most comfortable. I can wear a pair of knee high Smartwool socks, just ankles socks, leggings or skinny jeans with them and they are still comfortable. I have athletic calves, not too big, but not tiny and they fit great. The boot will relax as you wear them, so if the calves are tight, just keep wearing them. I wore these boots only on a 2 week trip to Europe(which equals tons of walking) and just barely to Disneyland for 2 days which can be pretty tiring for any legs, but mine were just fine! Footbed is so comfortable. I just can't say enough. I get tons of compliments and at least 5 people I know bought these boots after they saw them on me. They rock. Plus they don't have the obnoxious Keen toe, so that's a bonus. I haven't had traction issues with mine, like another review said, so basically these boots are amazing. I am a standard 8 in shoes and wear an 8 in these.

These were difficult boots for sizing. I love the Purple color, and the style, but it took me a few tries to get the size right. I usually wear an 8½, and have always worn 8½ in Keens. When I got the 8½ in these boots I instantly thought it was too small - a part in the toe box was squeezing down on my toe-knuckles and it hurt! I was going to return them and get 9, but then I read a review that said the person wore them for a week straight and by the end they had stretched out to a full size larger! So I wore the 8½ at home all day, and sure enough they stretched out! Then I got the 9 just to try them in case. They were way too roomy in the ankle part, although the toe box was much better. I decided to keep 8½ and take out the Keen insoles, put in my own memory foam insoles. They are fitting perfect now! Other reviews that say the grip on the soles is not good are partially right. They do slide around a tiny bit on carpet, but outside they are plenty grippy. These are cute boots, I highly recommend them. Break them in a little to stretch out the leather and I am sure that you will love them!

I have the worst feet in the world - it is a real challenge finding shoes that I can stand having on my feet - and these boots are amazingly comfortable! They are true to size, comfortably wide in the toe area without being dorky, and have good arch support... plus they are totally cool looking. I love them.

I absolutely love these boots. I had tried them on at a store in Minneapolis, but did not buy because I was really concerned about the lack of grip on the bottom. I loved the style though and they fit beautifully. After a couple of months of trying to find similar boots I decided to buy them after all, but had to order on-line as I do not live near a store that sells them. I had tried the lined version on in the store so was also concerned about sizing based on reviews. Well, they turned out excellent and I am a true size 8 and they fit perfectly. I am very happy that I did not order half a size larger as some suggest. They are not even the least bit tight and I have wide feet. Also I just took a walk outside in the snow and did not find them slippery at all! I absolutely love these boots!

I ordered these hoping that if I ordered them a size larger than usual I would be able to make them work with my large calves. My calves are around 16-16.5" and this circumference was listed at 15.5". I've had another pair of leather boots that were 15.5" which after some stretching worked for me. In a size 8 the circumference on these was more like 14.5". These, unfortunately, wouldn't even zip past my ankle. They are very cute and with trim calves I'm sure would work very well. I was just hoping that with the elastic and being high quality leather I would be able to get them to stretch to work, but it was not even close. Probably like all high boots, these will work for girls with skinny legs, but athletic calves need not apply. It's too bad because the boots were very cute and seemed well made.

I've been searching for the perfect boots (black and dark brown riding boots, preferably) for quite a while now... I think I can finally cross the black pair off my list! These boots feel awesome and look super-cute tucked into skinny jeans. I've had such a hard time finding boots that fit my 16 1/4" calves. Although these claim to be a 15 1/2" circumference, the low-pro elastic goring at the top allows for enough stretch for me to still wear these comfortably. I love the sleek design (the ankle is flatteringly narrow, not bulky or slouchy) and the buckles add a bit of style. Very comfortable footbed, especially for my slightly wide feet. They're waterproof, too? I'm sold!

I bought these shoes about a year and half ago and absolutely love them. When first trying them on I worried that they would not have enough traction on icy streets. However, I wore them around Boston for two weeks in the middle of winter and felt completely secure. I was also surprised at how well they stood up to the moisture. I was sure that I ruined the leather walking through a few feet of snow, but one year later they still look great! I would definitely order at least a half size up if you want to wear them with thick socks. The heel rubbed a bit on my feet, but I don't think they would have if I would have returned them for a larger size. The calf opening is rather small, so it is difficult to tuck pants into if that is what you are after. Other than that, these are fantastic boots!

Love these boots! Best shoe purchase I've made in years. This is a smart, practical, comfortable, casual, classy boot that is sexy with skinny jeans! The calf buckles are adjustable, ladies!

I think I am in love with these boots! I too, have been searching for an attractive, comfortable, durable boot forever. Add to that that I am also petite and have to find tall boots that are not too tall! My usual 6.5 size fit perfectly, even though my feet are on the wider side (based on previous reviews, I also tried the 7 but it was clearly too big). Note to those who are taking careful note of the shaft height and calf width, these measurements do vary with the boot size. The size 7 boot was about 1/2" taller and definitely wider (sorry, I didn't measure). If I'd needed the 7's I would have had to tighten the buckle a notch. Note that Zappos measurements are for a size 6 boot. (And by the way, for those comparison shoppers out there, these boots are also being sold as the "Made for Walkin' Boot" by a certain purveyor of stylish athletic women's clothing. But they are better bought through Zappos for the ease of free shipping and returns!)

I love these boots and just wore them every day for three weeks while traveling in Europe in late February, on city streets, cobble stones, in rain and muddy fields. I have knee problems and bunions and hammer toes and I was completely comfortable and amazed that I was! I actually got half a size larger when I tried them on and they fit with mid-heavy socks. Later, they were too big and were rubbing my heel. I added moleskin to the boot back and had one of my most comfortable and fashionable travel shoes.

These are the boots! Buy them. I live in Portland, OR and, yes, it is wet. These boots keep my feet dry while walking and biking. I wear them everywhere. They have great support and for those of us with not so skinny legs the calf is large enough to fit those of us who have cows and not calves. I can wear them through spring without tights and they are adorable.

I love my Keen Bern Baby Boots because they are extremely comfortable and soft. I am able to use them with my orthodics which most boots do not accommodate. They are also very stylish and look great.

Beautiful boot and color is unusual - can be wine, purple, brown or black...good understatement color. Very comfortable in all categories. Great traction outside and on wet tile floor! Seems scary on carpet. I see what other reviewers mean. A flaw in leather on toe, which surprises me. Buckles help a lot for those of us whose calf is narrower. Keepers!

Very cute boot. I wear 8.5 or 9 in boots. The size 8.5 is perfect if I wear very thin socks or tights. The size 9 was really too large, even with thick socks and an orthotic added. so I kept the 8.5 and am very happy with them. Look nice with skirts and there is plenty of calf room to tuck in jeans. I bought the "purplie" and love it -- goes with everything and is just different enough.Have not had the opportunity yet to wear them on ice, so no feedback there.

These boots are super nice! I followed other reviewers' advice and ordered a 1/2 size larger, and they were too big, sent them back for a 6.5 (my normal size) and they fit. A little tight (in the width), but with a couple wears, they're perfect. Nice and snug around the calf too (I have average calves).

I love these boots. They are comfortable, warm, cute and easy to dress up or down. I wear a size 6 or 6½ and went with the 6½. The fit is perfect both for thin or slightly heavy socks. I have worn them both in the fall and in the winter snow so far and my feet have stayed dry and warm.

I finally found a boot that would feel comfortable on my tiny ankles and large calves (about 15.5 inches). I always have a problem with other boots with the material bunching up by my ankles but these don't do that. its also wide enough at the calf that I can wear jeans tucked in them. These are fairly stylish, not the cutest but certainly not blocky. They are very comfortable to walk and stand in, and I didn't need to break them in before wearing them all day. I don't plan on wearing thick socks with these boots so I bought my normal size (7.5) and they fit perfectly. The only thing I wish was different about these shoes is if the toe was a little less square and more pointed, but all Keens have this sort of slanted toe look so I knew what I was getting into when I purchased them.

I love these boots! My daughter had a pair in black and I liked them so much I ordered a pair for myself in oak. They look great with skinny jeans and I always get compliments when I wear them! I ordered a half size up and they fit great.

These boots are comfy in both foot and calf, and they look pretty darn hip under skirts as well as pants and jeans. By the way, they fit well over leggings and skinny jeans too. Love them!

I received these boots the next day after ordering. I chose an 8.5 boot which is the largest size I order for Keens. The reviews helped. I have a 15.5 inch calf. I loved these boots from the moment I put them on. The calf zips snug at the top but is very comfortable. The insole is very comfortable. I have only worn them indoors but I have no doubt that they will take me through many winters in style and comfort. They are dressier than many Keens I have. They look great with skirts and yes, jeans do fit over them. I'm very happy with this purchase.

These are splendid. They didn't set off airport security with the buckle, and I got an admiring glance for that from the person scanning. I said, "they're also waterproof and very comfortable!" Good find, and they look good over skinny jeans and with a dress. Best of all, they aren't too big for my stick legs. I had no problem with the size. Keen - always 7 1/2 for me.

I just purchased these boots and they are super cute. I'm an equestrian and wanted a tall boot that I could wear horseback riding. I have muscular calves so it's hard to find tall boots that fit me and I am delighted that these fit well. I normally wear an 8.5 in hiking boots so I ordered these in a 9 and they will be great with winter socks. They are a little bit loose around the ankles so if you have really tiny ankles that might bug you. I wish they had a more aggressive tread like Keen hiking boots. They have a sole that is a bit more refined like a dress shoe. I can't wait for Fall to get here so I can give them a real try. They would look really cute with a skirt. The brown is a really rich pleasant color. The inserts are soft and seem comfortable with light arch support. I might try putting superfeet inserts in them for better arch support.

I have to admit, I have fat cankles and have not been able to find a pair of boots that fit over them... until the Bern Baby Bern Boot! These boots make my ankles look skinny. They were tight and I really had to work the zipper to fit over my calves the first time wearing them. However, the leather and stretch panel really give and finally mold to your legs. They are extremely comfortable, very well made, and my favorite boots ever!
