Love this shoe and love Zappos. I tried 6 different oxfords, and these are comfortable from day one and feel like they will last forever. Bought a half size smaller based on the reviews. The bottoms are slick, even for walking. I'm hoping by wearing them on concrete they will not be slippery at work.

Perfect oxford for fall. I was a bit hesitant because of the price but these are very nice shoes and good quality, great style, comfortable. Also thanks Zappos for upgrading my shipping, I ordered in the morning and got the shoes the very next day. At first I was a little underwhelmed, I think still stuck on the price, but I am wearing them today and like them more each minute. This shoe has presence and is sturdy without being clunky. The 1 1/4 inch heel is comfortable and gives them a sort of easy, thrown together glamor. They are cool and understated and go with most dresses, skirts, pants. They make me think of fall bike rides and cobblestone streets and prim school girls. Definitely the nicest oxfords I've seen, I will buy a second pair when they go on sale.

Leave it to Frye to create the perfect stylish and timeless oxford. I chose the cognac color. Gorgeous! This shoe is comfortable out of the box, and will only get better. This is my fourth pair of Frye shoes/boots. Worth every penny. Will last forever! Thanks to Zappos for the great customer service, too!

I coveted these shoes on my favorites for months, hoping they would go on sale. Finally I couldn't take it anymore, and plunked down more than I've ever paid for a pair of shoes. They came in about 1 day, and I was kind of disappointed! The toe box was more pointed than in the picture, and they looked very narrow. So I put them on the coffee table and stared at them awhile. When I finally got up the nerve to put them on, they were a little narrow and tight (I have a wide foot and a size 10). After walking around the house in them, I noticed the heel gives you a lot of height, and that felt nice. Wore them to work the next day, and by the end of the day my feet were killing me. In summary, I like these, a lot, but were they worth the price? I don't know yet.

I love these shoes. They took a tiny bit of breaking in and are a bit narrow and long in the toe but I have wide feet and they are still comfortable for me. the blue color is awesome with jeans. My only complaint is that the sole is a bit thin and I think I will go to shoe maker and have them add a rubber piece under sole so it will last longer. Shouldn't have to do that on a shoe this pricey in my opinion but I am still overall liking them.

I've had these oxfords for about a month now and they have turned out to be one of the best investments I've made. I live in a big city and often have to walk all day on stairs and sidewalks, and these shoes have become my go-to walking shoe. The heel is the perfect amount of support and the leather sole absorbs the shock from the concrete very well. The whiskey is a medium warm brown color that goes with everything, and I get compliments every time I wear them. I am usually a 7.5-8 but I had to size down to a 6.5 because my heel kept slipping in my usual size. I have a narrow heel and wide instep, so this is a common problem for me, but I was a little surprised that I had to go down a full size. The 6.5 was very snug in my instep at first, but after a few weeks the leather has molded perfectly to my feet. The reason they have worked for me is that the smaller sizes still left just the right amount of room for my toes, so these shoes are great for people who need a little extra wiggle room. Fryes in general are known for running long, but because the leather is good quality you can size down and not worry about the width so much.

Great looking, pretty comfortable -- though not enough arch support for me. Runs a good 1/2 size big!

I really wanted to like these shoes. I ordered a Tan but the color was way off. It is way more of a pinkish beige than the yellowy tan in the picture online. Definitely order at least a half size down. They are narrow but long. I also thought Frye shoes were made in the US but this shoe is made in Mexico. The quality is still very good but sadly I will be returning these because of the color.

This was my first ever purchase of Frye shoes/boots, and there is definitely a quality to this shoe. The leather is stiff so it would need to broken in (which is typical of most quality leather shoes), and the looks were quite nice. I did return these because of sizing, however. In other brands, I typically run between a 7.5 - 8 and the 8 in these was slipping in the heel just a bit. They are also very long in the toe box. I don't know if a 7.5 would fix the problem, but I may give that a try to see. Additionally, the sole of the shoe is quite slippery, and because I can be a bit klutzy, I'd prefer a little bit of grip on that part of the shoe. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to order these if you're looking for a nice oxford shoe, but you may need to play with sizing a bit to find the right fit.

Super comfortable. Fun quirky shoe. I wear with jeans. They make my feet look long but, it's okay I have small feet.

I was looking for a pair of shoes I could pack for a weekend away and wear with everything: jeans, skirts, trousers. The shoe is beautifully made and looks great, but I'm unfortunately sending it back. I thought they'd look edgy, but they made me look a bit frumpy. I'm short, but I imagine they'd be great on a tall, willowy body. They're rather narrow, and not nearly as comfortable as my Frye harness boots, and I thought they might be hearty enough for the snow, but they won't be. They don't meet my needs, but I think for somebody in a more temperate climate they can be a cute all weather shoe.

This is a great shoe that's comfortable and stylish. The leather sole is a little slippery, but it does come with a slightly pebbled texture on the bottom which helps.

I love the style of these shoes, especially the heel, but the fit is kind of odd because of the long toe. I'm normally a 6.5 or 7 depending on the fit but had to get a 6 which ended up being a bit narrow. They were incredibly tight at first but so adorable that it was worth it to see if they'd break in, which they mostly have by now (I've probably walked about 5 miles in them by now). Still a little tight but comfortable enough!

Very comfortable out of box. Stylish and trendy without looking like you're trying too hard. Feels and wears a lot like a Frye boot. I bought the light color with black laces. They work with everything and pull together look in a sophisticated way. Skinny jeans, trousers, work, weekends, and western styles. Very happy worth every penny.

I really like these shoes. They're hip and fun, stylish, and don't cramp my feet. I have a lot of fashion sense and these definitely help with that. They're comfortable for stylish shoes, too! I have high arches and can rarely find shoes to fit true. These didn't fit true, but they were comfy and cute enough not to matter too much.

This shoe seems to have been designed on a boot model (surprise!) as the toe is a bit elongated and points up (my husband called them elf shoes). The leather is a bit stiff as well, and they are slippery for the first week or so. But they are very well-made (if the stitching on the underside of the sole does not wear through too quickly) and I still think Frye is making the best looking cheaper oxford-type shoe on the market.

Normally I love Frye Carson lace up shoes- I have 2 pairs of this same style in other colors. This particular pair fit completely differently - my heel was not held in at all and rubbed on the back of the shoe. There doesn't seem to be consistency in the manufacture, which Frye should address if they want to charge prices like this. The color was way prettier in person than on-line. On-line it looks yellow, in person, it's a nice, shaded light tan. I wish I could have kept them!

These are gorgeous shoes although I am still deciding whether or not to keep them. The eggplant color is very nice and not screaming purple, more of a neutral purple. The shoe is a half size too large. I consistently wear a 9.5, but the arch did not hit in the right spot in that size. The 9 fits well length-wise but is very snug width-wise. Considering the high price, I'm trying to decide whether to give them a chance to stretch out or not. I really love them but it may just be that my foot is not right for them. It is a high quality shoe.

Okay, this shoe is adorable. It looks great with jeans or khakis...possibly even shorts, but I haven't tried that yet. The bottom of the shoe is slippery so watch yourself the first few times you wear them. I ordered my usual size and they fit great with thicker and regular socks.

These run 1/2 size larger. ordered an 8.5, just got the 8 and it's fine. I have narrow feel. seems like a quality shoe. love the heel. Great exchange policy! I got to keep the larger one and compare it to the smaller one without being charged for the 2nd pair. Thanks, Zappos!

Very nice shoe. Wasn't sure what color it would be, it's a brown. Very comfy, cushy insole. Beautiful leather. Fits very well, not tight in toes or instep, tried on many, kept only this one. My only complaint would be that the sole of the shoe is pure, smooth leather, which sounds nice but with no rubber bottom I've found it to be slippery at times. I plan to go to local shoesmith and get grip put on bottom. I feel it's a small price to pay for my problem feet to have such comfortable shoes for once.

I really like the look and style of the shoe. After reading the reviews and normally wearing a 7 or 7.5, I went with the 7. The length was good but they were very tight (I don't have a wide foot - more on the narrow side). After wearing them around the house for awhile my toes started to tingle and go numb. Considering how much these cost, I wasn't willing to take the time (and discomfort) to break them in.

Very nice leather and not too narrow in the toe area. Kind of a Western take on the Oxford due to the cowboy boot heel. Really high quality, softer feel leather (not boot leather); will last a long time. Wooden sole so it's not cushioned. I added an insert.

The toe is long and curves up, so these look kinda like clown shoes. Comfy, though.
