I give this shoe 5 stars due to comfort and fit. The sole is well padded. No aches while walking on the streets of Manhattan. The heel cap does not make noise: very quiet shoe overall. If only everyone used this type of construction!

Cute, comfy, trendy and work appropriate! This is my 4th pair of Frye shoes and the first pair of shoes EVER that I have had to size down in. I very consistently wear a 7.5, but the 7.5 was way too big. The 7 works a lot better and will accommodate some thinner socks. I have relatively wide feet too, but the 7 is still comfortable.

I can see why some people think this style runs a half size large. I ordered my normal size and a half size smaller based on the reviews. Both felt like the right size. I ended up keeping my normal size, and I am glad I did. It may be a matter of personal preference. I found these shoes felt like good, solid shoes; they have substance without being clunky. The insole has a nice padding. Although there is no arch support, the modest heel works fine for my foot issues. I can wear these all day. And based on the quality, I expect I will have them for years to come.

This shoe was a big investment (for me, at least). It won me over with style (fun but conservative, sassy/classy says another reviewer), quality, and versatility (good with pants and skirts). Based on some reviews that said the shoe ran large, I tried my normal size (9) and a size smaller (8.5). I kept my normal size, mostly because the shoe has a narrow style/toe box (or at least narrower than the wide-toed roomy shoes I usually buy, e.g. Birkenstock, Dansko). I really like the slightly turned-up, boot-style toe box. There is a bit of extra room at the tip because I'm not squeezing my toes in, but I like that elongated style, even if it looks a little clownish as one reviewer said. There is rubber on the heel which adds some traction, but the rest of the sole is a smooth leather, so it is a bit slippery. The construction and material quality appears sharp. I imagine the shoe will accommodate sole/heel replacements well, making them worth a long-term investment.

I loved these so much that I got another pair in brown! I got them a half size larger to be able to put on socks and wiggle my toes.

The shoe is so narrow I can't imagine it fitting in a larger size without being as long as clown shoes. Back in the box they went. Darn! They are really cute, too.

I love my oxfords. I had been looking for one with just a hint of a heel and this fit the bill. They look great with my trouser jeans. I have added insoles and they feel great all day.

I love my shoes! They are a little stiff at first, but soften up within a few wearings. I typically wear a 6½ - 7 in shoes and ordered these in a 6½ and they are perfect.

I love these shoes! I've had the Carson boot for a year now and the lace up oxford is just as comfortable, no breaking in required. I can't stop wearing them & have gotten compliments every time I do.

These shoes are gorgeous - purchased in "Cognac" and they are true to description. I did heed the remarks in other reviews mentioning that these look pointier and stiffer in person than they do in the photos. Also I sometimes feel like my feet look longer than usual because of the toe and slender fit. These shoes were immediately comfortable - no breaking in period - and are fine for wearing long periods of time. Personally I am not a fan of the amount of noise the shoes make when I'm walking on dirt surfaces where even the slightest bit of loose gravel or sand makes a 'crunching' sound - a tiny quirk of the shoe's sole (says 'stacked leather' in the description). I usually wear an 8 and ordered down half a size and the 7.5 fit perfectly!

I wear patches of Moleskin when I am breaking in shoes. I've done so with these and they are really comfortable all day long. I love Frye boot and these are great when I can't wear boots.

Great shoe. Very comfortable and no breaking in time. It ran true to sie for me. I love to see a shoe with a real leather sole again!

These are great shoes. I have them in another color and wear them with everything. I always wear a size 11 but with these and with most other Frye shoes, I have to go down a full size to a 10.

These are made beautifully and true to size however these shoes do have more of a narrow fit which was fine for me. Initially I did get a blister or two. Zappos has the most wonderful customer service. I will continue to order from them.

I am in love and her name is Frye Carson Oxford. After coveting them for many months, I broke down and purchased them. They are fabulous, are extremely comfortable, and look chic and expensive. I am saving fro another color.

I love the all leather sole. I have a narrow foot and these mediums fit better than expected with thin socks. I was pleasantly surprised.

Fantastic shoe. So happy I purchased them. My feet never take to new shoes too fast. Never had a problem with these. So comfortable. Buy them. You won't be disappointed.

I just started a new job that lets me wear jeans and was looking for something comfortable and casual to wear with them. Thanks to all of the previous reviewers, I found the perfect shoe! I can't believe how comfortable they are. I bought them in cognac and loved them so much I just got them in black too. Now I can't wait for fall so I can wear them every day.

I have been wearing these every day since I received them and am considering getting another pair in another color. It is difficult to find oxford shoes with leather soles, and these are exactly what I wanted. The heel height is perfect. This is what excellent shoe making is all about. These will be good for a life-time of walking and clog-dancing.

I, along with other reviewers, also felt these shoes were a half to full size larger than marked. Since they don't make a 10.5, I'm going to have to try a 10. Love the look and the comfort of them, though, and plan on wearing them with dresses if I can find a pair that fits!

I have coveted this shoe for over a year and finally decided to splurge. It's comfortable right out of the box. I wear a 1/2 size smaller in Frye than I normally do and, as others said, it is initially very slippery without any rubber on the sole.

I was very happy with these shoes. They are extremely comfortable; they are like wearing slippers and I usually have difficulty finding comfortable shoes. They are also very stylish. In person they look a little bit different than the picture. The picture makes them look more elongated than they actually are. If you love boots, you will be very happy with these boots. A five all the way.

Fabulous, classic shoe with feminine appeal in the slight boot curve in the heel and natural shape of toe. I discovered the Frye Carson Clog last year, much better than their Harness Mule clog, so I was optimistic that the Carson Oxford would have the same footbase and style and I was delighted to find that I was right. It has excellent arch support; I have issues with my plantar fasciatiis so I wear arch support inserts in most of my shoes, but not with this oxford. It runs 1/2 size large with a thin to average sock. I bought the tan then immediately bought it in black and dark brown. I even wear it with a small white sock and skirt.
