Love these shoes - got them in the fawn color. They are classic and understated, perfect for fall. They DEFINITELY run at least a half size large (I wear a 9 in everything, and the 8.5 fits well). Super comfortable, though the bottoms are extremely slick and pretty impractical for riding a bike to work this morning. Feet just slid off the pedals.

Love this shoe! There must be a lot of us looking for the "perfect oxford", because I have had trouble finding it as well. But my search is over. These are styled beautifully and are comfortable. I think the little bit of heel and curved toe are part of the unique styling that make this one better than any other I have tried or looked at. Expensive, but these are exactly what I have been looking for so I actually bought two. Crazy for me, but when you only buy a few quality things and those things are hard to find- well!

These are beautiful shoes well crafted. They will last years. Comfortable from the first day I wore them. I receive many compliments because they are an unusually stylish oxford. I wear them with jeans, skirts and dresses. They are very versatile and I highly recommend them.

Wow! I adore these! They just arrived in the mail and they were all I was expecting and more. They are the perfect oxford. Unlike some oxfords, these look like men's shoes scaled down for the female foot. Many oxfords are bulky and too large for a woman's foot. I love the fit. They're very comfortable right out of the box. I usually wear a 7 in shoes but have 6.5's and 7's in Fryes and I took these in a 7. I think they run a tiny bit long, but I wouldn't want to go down a half size because I'd worry that because of the tapered toe of the shoe, it might crunch my toes-- especially with socks. I cannot wait to wear these this fall/winter and for a long time to come. I may even be back for another color. They're pricey, but since I've searched and searched for the perfect oxford to no avail until now, I think it might be worth the investment to have 2 pairs. You really cannot go wrong with these!

I absolutely love them. The quality is great, they are comfortable and look fantastic! The smoke color is perfect. I may add a little extra arch support, otherwise they feel great.

Stylish & comfortable! I got the dark brown, and it is just beautiful leather and overall well made. Runs a tiny bit narrow - I am usually medium width, and I think it will be fine, but if you are on the wide-side, this might be narrow for you. I haven't worn them outside yet, but I've been wearing them around the house all evening and they are just getting more and more comfortable. Finally a sharp, sophisticated oxford! And, I've been looking a while.

When I first saw the shoe I was afraid that it may be too narrow for my somewhat wide feet, however when I put them on they felt wonderful. So far I've walked in them enough to think that they won't cause any discomfort and I really like the padding on the heel and ball portions. They feel true to size and are truly one of the most beautiful pairs I've owned. My only complaint is the bottom of the shoe is somewhat slippery with only part of the heel having rubber to keep me from slipping. I suppose after some more wear the sole will become more abrasive and prevent slipping, only time will tell. I am very pleased with this purchase and it was worth every penny for a pair that will probably last a very long time.

These shoes are absolutely fantastic. I've always wanted a pair of Oxfords but I've never found a pair that was the right mix of Hester Prynne and Marc Jacobs. These fall right in that sweet spot design-wise. And they are super-comfortable. The toe-box feels a tad long, but that doesn't bother me and the cushioning on the sole is nicely padded. I cannot wait for fall!

I have flat feet, bunions, and wear inserts for cushioning and arch support. Other than that, I have normal width. I do need shoes that do not squeeze the ball of my foot. I am only reporting on the fit right out of the box. I loved these! I won't wear them every day, but the slight heel helps my arch and I will not wear my inserts with these. There is some cushioning in heel and ball of shoe, they are not tight across the ball. The toes of the boot curve up off the floor, so they do not break across the top when you walk. Some may find this odd, I find it comfy. Love the smoke color - goes with browns, greens, tans - very nice neutral, and gives them a more professional look. My heels do not slide - mine are somewhat narrow.

These shoes will kill you in the rain/snow! They are beautiful, but the leather sole has no traction, and is extremely slippery in wet conditions. I took the worst fall on an almost bare sidewalk and was seriously injured. I have had these shoes for three months now, and the soles have simply not worn in. They are as dangerous in wet conditions now as the first day I had them. I just do not wear them on rainy days any more, because I always slip around. I' am going to take them to a cobbler and see if I can have the sole modified somehow. That, said, they are very well made and handsome. They are stiff, and still have not broken in after four months of moderate wear, but I think once they break in, they will feel custom-made. These are more comfortable than the Frye Perforated oxfords, so if you are wavering, I would pick these. Also, these seem to be pretty waterproof, whereas the holes in the Perf oxfords make them a fair-weather shoe only.

They are very high quality, but too narrow across the ball of the foot. Also, a little long in the toe box, even though I ordered a half size down.

I ordered these in a 7 after reading the reviews and while I agree that they do run half a size big, they are far too narrow for someone with medium width feet. I feel that they also do not fit well enough over the back of my feet. The measurements for a size 7 are: Heel to toe: 10" Widest part: 3½" Back of shoe, not including heel: 2¼" I have a 7½ on the way and I will post the measurements for those when they arrive. These shoes are beautiful and it will be a shame if they do not work out.

These are perfectly respectable shoes. But for the price I honestly thought the leather quality would look better (the sides where the laces are did not seem to match the rest of the shoes). It could be due to the fact that the leather does not stretch in that area, but I felt it made them look cheaper than what they cost. I got them black, by the way. The heel height was nice, the traction was good. But honestly, I was expecting more. The toe of these shoes was a part of the styling that I did not care for either. I am a fan of oxfords, wore them years ago, but these missed the mark for me.

I own two pairs of these shoes and absolutely love them! They're the best looking leather oxfords I've found and are super high-quality. The craftsmanship is impeccable. The leather sole makes a wonderful clicking that really makes a statement. I will say that it seems that the newer colors appear to be better made, with thicker laces and a foot bed that doesn't peel off easily like my first pair. As others have recommended, make sure to order a half-size down, as they stretch out considerably during wear and meld to your foot. The heel height is perfect and I appreciate the wider, chunkier heel because it's more stable. I've worn these all over San Francisco and they don't make my feet hurt at all nor do my feet get too hot and sweaty. They look great with jeans and even dress pants/dresses if you get the right color combos.

I love these shoes. Hands down. The sizing is right on, which isn't always the case for me with other Frye styles. They look great with jeans, trousers, and skirts. They work especially well with the skinny pants look. I get a lot of compliments whenever I wear them. They are comfortable right out of the box, though my feet did ache after doing a weekend full (of miles and miles) of city walking. Otherwise, they are great for anyone who has to stand a lot (i.e. teaching, retail). I have recommended them to friends, and they have also fallen in love with these shoes.

Great-looking shoe, totally worth the price. I get a lot of compliments on them. Fairly comfy, but I'll probably end up adding a soft insole because there isn't any cushioning.

Love these shoes. Bought the Burnt Red Antique Soft Leather as my first and not last pair. Note they are not as bright red as they look, much more subtle. I then snagged black, brown, and iris for my happy little (yes, size 6.5) feet. I recently rolled my ankle, having fallen off my 2" platform-like sandals and decided it was time to start anew with shoes. I didn't bother going to a single store because none of them stock supportive, stylish shoes. Done paying $80.00 for a pair of shoes I sort of liked because I needed shoes. I only ended up not wearing them and then replacing them with another pair of $80.00 shoes. While the price tag on these is high, worth it.

This shoe is spectacular! I'm a police detective and have to wear suits and business attire to work. As a female in law enforcement, I'm always searching for a stylish but feminine shoe and this one meets all my needs and more. They look great with jeans or a suite and are extremely soft and comfortable. I need them in at least two more colors. The picture does not do them justice. I'm a girly girl in my off time and have no problems rotating this shoe into my civilian attire. I always get complements when I wear them.

Love, love, love these shoes. I am a size nine B/C in shoes, sometimes a 8.5 in sandals and settled on the 9 in this shoe. Others advised sizing down, but that did not work for my foot shape. The toe is tapered and quite long, but the width is a solid M with a narrowish heel. Beautiful leather, leather lined, with a heel that is about 1.5" that has helped reduce my chronic heel pain. This oxford with a modified boot heel was comfortable from day 1, out of the box and a few weeks later I scored a second pair in dark brown on 6PM at a discount. Happy feet, sad credit card.

I've been eyeing these shoes for a couple of years now, but was skeptical -- thinking they would be heavy and clunky. They are amazingly light weight and extremely comfortable. They have a low heel, but feel as comfortable as a flat heel. I'm really glad I purchased these.

Charcoal Antique Soft, size 9.5. I usually wear a size 10, but in any Frye shoe, I have to go with a 9.5. I love the charcoal antique color as it gives the shoe a slight worn-in look. I am 5'11" and the heel height is perfect; very comfortable. 'You get what you pay for' and these are well worth the price. Saving up to treat myself to a pair in Cognac! Also, Zappos return policy and no shipping cost is by far the best customer service I have ever experienced from online shopping!

This is one of the most comfortable shoes in my closet. Well it's never in my closet because I'm wearing them all the time. I absolutely love them. They are really like the carson pull on boot, this shoe is so like a cowgirl boot. It has a great footbed that gives support like a Lucchese boot does. Old Gringo also has the same kind of sole. Anyway just love the overall support and comfort.
