Beautiful shoe that feels so nice to pick up, but very painful on the foot! My forefoot is slightly wide but not wide enough for wide shoes. My normal size in this style pinched my little toe so much I couldn't keep it on for very long. Not much padding to speak of either.

I realy love the look of this shoe. Unfortunately, they seem to run big. I ordered a size 9 and it fit like a 9.5 or a 10. I had to return them.

I really wanted to love these shoes. The color is perfect, but the front part of the shoe is shaped just like Frye boots, which is long and narrow and tight for my wide feet. Plus, when my trousers cover the shoes, it just looks like I'm wearing boots. I wish it had a rounder toe box. Also, zero arch support.

I love these. I have the Erin model which are very comfortable. These are just as comfortable, but a bit dressier for the office. I find these more comfortable than the Cole Haan oxfords.

I'm a huge fan of the Frye brand. These oxfords look great, are comfortable and versatile. I've worn them with jeans as well as a suit. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Love the shoes. Couldn't decide between these and the boots. However, I am very happy, they are quite comfortable to wear all day.

Love these shoes, I'm on my feet all day for work and these shoes don't hurt my feet at all. Love them, the heel makes them feel more feminine than a flat.

Had these a few years now and can't stop wearing them. Just the right amount of heel for a slight lift but close enough to the ground that you can stand in them for a long time. The smoke color is just different enough from black that they're interesting without being flashy. What can I say, Frye always has great products and quality.

These shoes are exactly what I was looking for. They are stylish in a retro way and well made of nice tough leather. (Hard leather sole, so they can be slippery on some surfaces.) Just enough of a heel to make them feminine. And -- unlooked-for bonus -- the hard heels mean that I can dance zapateo in them! Nice and loud! I heeded the advice about sizing and bought a half size large, and they fit okay -- still a touch narrow across the toes, but I think this will ease up as the leather stretches -- I can live with it for now.

These shoes are super comfortable. I have problems finding a shoe that fits my wide toe box (and does not crush together my toes too much) and does not slip on my back heel. I just received these and am going to order another in a different size. Very stylish.

Beautifully constructed shoe. I started by ordering a half size down as per reviews, but ended up with the shoe in my true size as the smaller version was tight although long enough. The price is high for such a plain shoe but the quality of the leather and sole makes it worth it. Some break-in required.

These are my go to, everyday shoes. Extremely well made, comfortable, stylish. I like the look of a boot heel, but don't like boots. This fits the bill. A little pricey, but worth every dime.

I recently had a hip replacement at age 52, but I'm not willing to wear "old lady" orthopedic or athletic shoes every day. I typically wear clogs -- Sanita, Dansko and Troentorp Bastad (which I wish/hope that Zappos would start carrying. The platform really isn't suitable anymore, as I must be very careful about trips and falls, so I was looking for an attractive, quality shoe that would offer me a little height and femininity, but not be too high to remain stable. I love these shoes. I am a standard European size 40, so I tried this shoe in both a 9 and a 9.5. Because my foot is wide, I had to go with the 9.5. Let me just say, these shoes grip my heel perfectly, and the laces allow me to adjust the fit so that I feel confident and stable walking around. Plus, the heel doesn't hurt my hip, but offers a little height. I will be back for more Frye shoes and boots. Others have spoken about the quality of this shoe, so let me just say it's a beautifully made, quality shoe. Get this shoe and be willing to try a different size to find the right fit. You will not be sorry. (Side note: these shoes remind me of the oxford shoes I wore as a kid in the '60s -- in a good way.)

These oxfords are very well made. I normally wear 9½ or 10 so I ordered them in both sizes to compare fit. This style toe box is rounded and elongated. The 9½ had plenty of room in the toe area, but it fit a just a tad narrow on the widest part of my foot just beyond my toes where my foot bends. It was not an uncomfortable fit but there was not much room for tired feet to expand at the end of the day. So even though the 10 was a little roomy I chose them for comfort. I wear them with merino wool socks and they are really comfortable on colder days in Arizona when Berkies and socks will not cut it. The leather smells so good. They make me feel like a kid again!

Over the years, I've learned it's important to read Zappos reviews to pick up advice and as a Frye-aholic, I've learned it best to (typically) order a 1/2 size down. Glad I did with these beautiful oxfords too. After a day of a semi-tight/snug fit, the shoe opened up and now fits me perfectly. I'm a big klutz, so I was a little worried the height of the heel may be too much, but alas, I've kept on my feet without a spill! These shoes are solid! Love them...you will too!

Love these! Perfect color and great quality! Will be wearing for years. Shoe is a bit narrow, I typically wear a size 9 1/2 and went with a 9 anticipate leather stretching a bit. Will be ordering a black pair shortly.

I am wearing the Carson Oxford for the first time and now wish I had purchased the Black instead of clogs. I did get the brown distressed leather and these shoes are perfect. I have an arthritic knee and worried about the heal height, however, these shoes distribute weight so comfortably that I believe the knee stress has been ameliorated. Style-wise, they do harken back to shoes a school marm might have worn in the 1940s... I am a school teacher and they seem to fit on so many levels. They are really comfy.

Love these shoes! Had to get a 1/2 size larger because they didn't have my normal size. The 1/2 size larger actually fits well. I get many compliments on these shoes. Extremely well made and quality is excellent.

I love this shoe! These shoes are super comfortable even after an 8 hour day. I teach and am on my feet much of the day. I have wide feet and a high arch - lace ups tend to fit me the best. I have these in an 8 in Smoke. Great color. Sassy with a western flair - they look cute with jeans, dress pants and tights with a skirt. I can't wait to get a 2nd pair!

Have loved Frye boots and now a huge fan of these Carson shoes. Comfortable and sharp - highly recommend them.

Great shoe. Long in the toe. Slippery bottom until scuffed in. Many compliments. Took only a couple wearings to break in. Really like this shoe.

This is a beautifully designed and made shoe. I will definitely be buying these in more colors. It is expensive but worth the cost. I imagine I'll be wearing these for years with an occasional heel replacement and polish because I do a lot of walking in the city.

Great shoes. I've had them for a few months, and they're the most comfortable shoes I own; regrettably, they don't go very well with swimsuits. I purchased my regular size, and it does feel slightly big, but not so much so that I had to return it for a smaller size. They're professional and sharp, but still great for regular wear. Despite having worn the shoes in weather no worse than the occasional unforeseen puddle, I've noticed that some of the stitching is fraying and one loose thread pulled out of the heel-seam altogether. Even so, these oxfords have my wholehearted recommendation.

Love this shoe! I am 39 but have to wear orthotics and it's so hard to find comfortable shoes with some level of style. Style and comfort tend to be inversely proportional. I love that it has a bit of a heel, and has a western boot style to them. They look great with jeans, but I also wear them slacks for work. Definitely worth the money. I just ordered another pair in brown.
